“I have been going to SU20 for almost two years now (usually 2-3 times per month, sometimes more) and it is definitely the BEST, and almost even more importantly, most CONSISTENT sushi I have ever had in my life. This establishment and everyone who works there is an absolute gem for the Blue Bell and Ambler area. I personally believe that SU20’s sushi is better than the high end sushi restaurants in the Philly downtown area (at least based on the ones I have visited) — including some that were under review and successfully recognized for the Michelin Guide in November 2025. I’m not saying that out of disrespect, but simply to acknowledge how much of a hidden gem I believe SU20 truly is.

The fish quality, consistency, and knife work is stellar across the board — I have had almost every single specialty roll on the menu and they are all incredible. Some favorites include: the Fiesta, Blue Bell, Empire, and Sunshine Rolls — freshest ingredients every time, without exception. The quality control really shines through with the sashimi! It’s unbelievable how full and satisfied, yet light, I still feel after each meal I have at SU20. The appetizers and other meal items are great too… I would recommend the Tuna Carpaccio and Tuna Tataki if you’re looking for small plates.

It is worth noting that the “SU20 Roll” has become my absolute favorite item I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It is a fried roll that tiptoes across a fine line of decadence, freshness, creativity, and nuance. My wife and I get the SU20 roll to end each meal because it’s just that satisfying— you NEED it to try it. This will sound like an exaggeration…. but if I had to pick my last my bite of food on this Earth, the SU20 Roll would likely earn that order.

To round out the entire experience, SU20 even has a variety of delicious Japanese desserts that I believe are also made in house. The crepe cakes and cheesecakes both display a master class on maximizing pastry texture and flavor in a lighthearted way — my personal favorite is the Strawberry Crepe Cake. If I have room after dinner, I love taking one to go!

“My family and I had an incredible dining experience tonight at Umai. We had a special, Kinmedai aka Golden Eye Snapper that was so fresh and tasty, out of this world good! We also had a treat with broiled tuna cheek that was also outstanding. Otoro was so velvety and rich, spicy hotate, sweet ebi, unagi, fried crabs, incredible sushi rolls, savory Akadashi (my son ordered a second it was so good) and everything else we ordered tonight was just incredible. “Really enjoyed everything we ordered! We tried the regular tonkatsu, cheese tonkatsu, and soba, and they were all so good. The cheese tonkatsu was probably my favorite, the cheese was super flavorful and went really well with the crispy pork. I also really liked the soba. It was light and refreshing, which was perfect to have with the tonkatsu since it balanced out the fried food really nicely. We tried the different sauces too, and I personally liked the Japanese sauce the best! Everything tasted fresh, the portions were good, and overall it was a really satisfying meal. “Although it’s named “to-go” there are actually 2 tables inside for dine in with 4 chairs each. I got the lunch special and they brought my food out and gave me iced water with it! “We tried Kungfu Sushi for the first time today. We stumbled on it by accident as it is located in an unassuming strip mall. We sampled several items including the Gyoza, Crab Rangoon, and assorted rolls -Ring of Fire, Crazy Monkey, Crabmeat Lover, Mango, Rainbow, and Dragon. Everything was freshly made and delicious! “I'm shocked I do not have a photo of the Salmon Bento that I have gotten at least 20 times already. I usually have it delivered via Uber Eats and it's so good that I dive right in when I get it! It comes with perfectly cooked salmon on a bed of sauteed broccoli and onions in a yummy teriyaki sauce. The sides are shrimp and veggie tempura, gyoza, California rolls, and white rice. You know when you find that one go-to restaurant that eases even the worst day at work? Sakura is that restaurant for me!

If you want the bento at a cheaper price - try the lunch specials; it's equally delicious!

“First impressions, trying to park was a bit confusing I still don't know if parking where I did is right. there is a small area around the restaurant that seems like it could be parking but no lines or guidance out front. Also this place is really small looking on the outside. As soon as I walked in it felt really awkward.i almost walked back out because everyone was just staring at me. Finally after what seemed like forever the sushi chef greeted me. When I was seated the waitress took my order and served me promptly. The miso soup was delicious. The edamame tasted fresh. The prices are a bit more than what I'm use to. I also had the sushi and sashimi lunch combo. The fish tasted very fresh and cleaned very well. Which explains the price. I would come back. “Solid neighborhood take-out spot. What I personally like about South Ocean in Flourtown is the variety of Asian cuisines: Chinese, Japanese, & Thai. You can order sweet and sour chicken, or sushi. My go-to dish is the green curry; either with chicken or with vegetables. Very nice staff, quick pick-up, and fairly priced. 👍🏻“

“I had gotten uber eats from here and it was great, but I recently dined in at Izu and did not have such a great experience. After ordering the sashimi lover plate, both myself and a family member got stomach aches, which made me concerned about the fish quality. The texture was also a bit strange on some of the slices. Otherwise, the food tasted great but since it is quite pricey, I am not so sure I will be back soon. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, but it did smell a bit fishy.“
