“Drive thru is speedy and accurate, the staff is curious and genuinely polite. Just make sure if you're here for your morning bagel and Java that you leave early because the lines can get so bad in the morning that they back up on to the street! Despite this the staff more than makes up for the long lines.“
“This cute little cafe is a hidden gem with vegetarian options!I stopped in with my family while on a road trip and got the BEST vegetarian borscht that I've ever had. They also have the most delicious stuffed pastries that they serve hot if you're dining in. We got the spinach and cheese pastry and also a mashed potato and mushroom pastry. One stuffed pastry is a nice size for a light lunch, especially with a cup of borscht, but we loved the pastries so much that we got some to go, too!My only regret is that this wonderful cafe is so far from home!Vegetarian options: Phenomenal stuffed pastries. There were three vegetarian options, and the two that we got were amazing!Kid-friendliness: There was a high chair and they were so sweet with our two kids. They were feeling picky today, but I think other kids would love the pastries and soups! There is no changing table for babies in the bathroom, though, so you may need to stop elsewhere afterwards if a little one needs a fresh diaper.“
“Vibe is a perfect college town coffee shop. The workers are friendly, the atmosphere is ideal, and the coffee is top notch. I've only eaten a blueberry muffin there, but it was great, and I would imagine their other food is quality too. Highly highly recommend to anyone living in or visiting State College/Penn State.Parking: There's free street parking right around the corner on Barnard Street. Free for 2 hours.Kid-friendliness: My 4-year-old sat there with me, no problems.“

“One of my favorite cafe/bakery. Black sesame latte and black sesame cake is amazing. I highly recommend these products especially if you have never tried.Additionally, their Taiwanese pineapple pie is wonderful. As I know, the owner/baker is Taiwanese. As a person who traveled Taiwan twice staying over a month, I can guarantee it is also very authentic. Good for a gift (they give a cute box for it).Very nice staffs.You can reserve whole cake in advance, too.“

“Cheese shoppe is the coolest cafe in State College. The owners are nice, all the baristas are social and happy to talk. The coffee is old-school which is a plus for me, and they regularly roast in house so you get to be there to see that as well. I wish they'd have more outdoor seating, but space is an issue so I get it.“

An issue that I have noticed though is that each time I come, my order will always take more than 8 minutes. even in the drive through. if you are in a rush probably not the place to go but if you are trying to study and get work done then this place is a good fit.“
“A New York bagel shop just across the street from Old Main, Irvings is a great place for incredible breakfast/lunch fare while catching the Penn State vibe. Home of State College’s best and IMO only authentic bagels, they are crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with a selection from plain to Everything. Irvings has lots of cream cheeses and sandwich selections (the Breakfast Special served all-day long), awesome bread and pastries too. Then there’s the drinks, from milkshakes to smoothies, great fresh coffee and plenty of bottled drinks. The main-stay staff knows their stuff; student staff members come and go, and seem to enjoy themselves while working which makes for a better experience. It’s my go-to spot for family breakfasts, coffee with colleagues or clients, or a quick bite with friends. I love Irvings!“
“I seriously love my Dunkin, and don't have one were I live so when I come to work this is the 1st place I stop! Ima drive thru type of person so of course they got to know me and my boyfriend pretty well, we always laughed and joked. Well one day he misunderstood me cuz he can barely speak or understand English and made the drink i used to drink instead of the one I been getting for the past month or more, and I just so happened to have a free coffee on my app and the coffee was cheaper then the drink I got so he actually made me pay the difference even tho it was his mistake I meen who does that!?!?! Then I asked for xtra mocha, well the 1st one has so much in it I wouldn't even of been able to drink it, and the one I got ....well it pretty much just taste like ground ice smh!!! Then I got a donut, it was on it's side the icing slide off and not a single napkin!!! I feel like that was sayn a big f you!! I been going there for about 6 months or more and I will never go back!! I DO NOT tolerate rudeness and ignorance, especially when I'm giving them MY money!!He definitely just lost a customer!!!!!“
