“Use this review as a small grain of salt on your margarita glass. Being from Arizona, I would say I am hard criticism towards Mexican restaurants in Pennsylvania. Mainly cause it’s hard to find the proper ingredients in Pennsylvania. I personally do like La Familia. We will we will return. The only thing I will say negatively towards the restaurant is they don’t have a soda fountain, and for someone who likes their Mexican food with a cup of Coke from the fountain, I was a little disappointed. However, having an original glass bottle, Coke was delicious. Also for dessert they normally have Tres Leches cake and I didn’t get to try it, but I plan on it. So if you’re the thing that likes a bar and some Mexican food, it’s definitely your place.“

“Best Taco is an understatement!!! By far the best, most authentic Mexican food I have ever had (in the states)! I could tell everything was made with love and passion!!! Every single bite gave me chills and made the hairs on my body stand straight up!!! Please do yourself a favor and order the tostadas de ceviche…it was sent from heaven and delivered by angels!!! The tacos, lengua, pollo asada, and chorizo were so good and FRESH! The bistec (steak) burrito was packed full of flavor! And the cubano sandwich was juicy and delicious!!! I cannot WAIT to come back!!!“

We don’t live in this area, moved away 8 months ago, but decided to stop by and wanted to give this Plaza Azteca a chance to redeem itself from a not so positive experience in July. Possibly that visit was an off day for them because today was what we are used to here at Mt Penn’s Plaza Azteca. “My husband and I just returned from a delicious, well-priced dinner at Norte Sur on Perkiomen Avenue in Reading. The portions were large, and the food was delicious. My husband had a burrito which took up the entire plate. I had a wonderful taco salad, and we shared sopapillas for dessert. The staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. We received free refills on our iced teas, and the total bill was less than $40. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Norte Sur, and am looking forward to returning soon.“

There are restaurants you eat at, and restaurants that claim you. Jimenez claimed me years ago and I have never once tried to escape.
The chicken huarache is my personal religion. The birria tacos are a flat-out revelation. Every out-of-town friend I’ve dragged here has gone silent on the first bite. That silence is respect. When visitors say “I don’t know what I’m in the mood for,” I don’t deliberate. I just drive towards Oley St. Then I point them toward the Horchata or the Jamaica and watch their entire worldview expand in real time. Also the music videos and telenovelas on either of the TV’s really make you feel like you’re just at your Tia’s house in Reading.
The seasoning operates on a level that feels personal. The staff will converse with you in English, entertain your broken Spanish, and quietly correct you so you actually walk away more fluent. That’s not just hospitality. That’s generosity.
Taqueria Jimenez and their staff are a pillar of this community and to me they are Mi familia(whether they know it or not) and have earned every ounce of those titles. If you haven’t been, go fix that immediately.“

“There first time I went here the place was good. They had very good Peruvian food. I am not what happened the second time I went here but the ceviche was not great. It was overly spicy almost as if the seafood was bad. The place did refund me but ever since that day I do not go because I do not want to risk it. I would day stick with there cooked food items“

“I love going to this location because the welcoming smiles and great customer service is TOP TIER here. Even when the staff is limited you wouldn’t know because you still receive exceptional service. Tiffany and Imani holds it down every time. They work well together and I am always pleased with the precision of my order. My questions are answered and I don’t feel like a bother when I ask for customizing the things I eat. “We really miss Taco Bell’s breakfast and hope it comes back someday. Decaf iced coffee would be a great addition too. Not a huge fan of the robot order taker, and occasionally the nacho fries aren’t filled all the way. Most employees are friendly, though a few newer ones seem less engaged. Usually it seems the order doesn't get started until you've checked in at the speaker, so it doesn't really save you time by ordering ahead. Overall a decent and clean location.“
