“Clean and good service. They have pool, darts, and outdoor seating. You can order food at the bar from Portofinos next door and they bring it over so you can eat at gormans. Their food is amazing and so reasonably priced, they also have different drink specials everyday, and many of them. The bartender Sam is a sweetheart and great at her job. She recognized me and my boyfriend by the second time we came in, remembered what drinks we got, and shes great at making conversation. We will definitely keep coming back“

What once felt warm and inviting has become cold and unprofessional through eye-rolling, dismissive responses, and careless service. “Food is good, especially like the fish sandwich and homemade chips. Got a Reuben and it was a lot of bread and not much corn beef. Went there a few days ago, stood at the door for 8 minutes there were empty tables. The staff saw us there and didn’t acknowledge us, kept looking away. Finally we were seated, we sat there 12 mins no one came to the table, there was 4 young people standing there talking to each other but none of them could tell us it would be awhile or even bring us a glass of water. We walked out. You should train your staff better on greeting your customers. I was a waitress for several years and if I would have done that I would have been fired. I understand it was busy, but greet your table and there shouldn’t be staff just standing around when talking and ignoring your customers. Also there was 6 other customers at the door that left because they weren’t getting seated also.“

The food here is absolutely delicious, and it’s the perfect place to grab a bite, enjoy a margarita, and relax. That said, I’ve had a few experiences with a particular staff member that were concerning. While most of the team has been friendly and welcoming, However, barmaid (JESS who served me February the 7th around 1:49 p.m.) has been noticeably short and dismissive on a couple of occasions. For example, there were times when she rolled her eyes or responded curtly when I greeted her, even though previous visits had been pleasant. I even had an instance where my drink was placed at the very edge of the bar in a way that felt intentionally difficult. I did call to bring this to the manager’s attention to address it, no and she allegedly answered the phone as the manager, and to my experience the manager is a gentleman as well as the owner. I wanted to share it here as well. I’ve spoken with other patrons who’ve noted that her personality can sometimes affect the overall experience. While I understand everyone can have an off day, consistent professionalism and courtesy are essential in customer service, especially in a neighborhood gem like this one. Overall, I truly enjoy this restaurant—the food, ambiance, and most of the staff make it a wonderful place. “Visiting Pittsburgh over the weekend and couldn’t miss our Buckeyes vs TTUN. Mike’s Beer Bar was recommended, and it was hands down one of the best game day bar experiences we’ve ever had. The atmosphere was incredible, drink menu (both on tap and cans) showing a plethora of choices to satisfy anyone, and great food. The staff was second to none and very friendly as well.
