“Abel was a very hospitable host. The rest of the wait staff was okay. It was Valentine's Day, maybe that played a part in our service experience. The edamame came steamed and lightly salted. The Tuna tataki was delicious. My husband enjoyed his king salmon belly sashimi the most, he was happy with the others, but the king salmon was his favorite-it came on a bamboo ladder beautifully presented. My spicy rainbow roll came presented creatively on a bamboo leaf~adorned with a flower, the flavors were good. We ordered a chocolate mousse, what we got was more akin to a cheesecake as far as density- that was disappointing. I was looking for something light and delicate- I would not recommend ordering the mousse.“

“Koi is an amazing place! It is some of the best sushi my husband has ever tried, and it comes complete with a special design by their sushi chef. This family owned restaurant has multiple member of their family, and it truly adds a personal touch. Joey was our server last night, and it was great to learn more about the restaurant - plus he made us laugh and just made our experience even better! Their outdoor dining is an awesome option - and the setting truly can’t be beat! We can’t wait to come back!“

“Rolls are a good size and are very full, so you get your money’s worth. The sushi roll lunch deals are great and I 10/10 recommend! The spicy kani roll tasted slightly fishy (nothing too off putting), but the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls are delicious.“

“I’ve been coming here for a couple of years, and the owners have always been incredibly friendly. Prices were also very competitive—especially the party trays, which is why I’m still leaving this as a 5-star review.

That said, my most recent visit was a bit concerning. There have been a lot of changes lately, particularly to the menu and pricing. The menu has been streamlined and modernized, but prices have gone up significantly across the board. Party trays in particular jumped by about $15 on average, with some increasing closer to $20. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any noticeable increase in portion size to go along with the higher prices.

This is a bit disappointing, because competitive pricing was what really set them apart from other sushi spots. The quality has always been slightly above average, but the value was a big part of the appeal.

I’ll still be coming back, but with these price increases, other places’ party trays have definitely become more tempting.“

“I’ve been frequenting this place since early 2000’s and their consistency and simple elegance of their sushi is simply phenomenal. Even Hawaii doesn’t offer such delicious sushi without making you pay 100’s of dollars for even the mediocre. Cho Cho San is incredible, can’t give it anything less than a 10/10“

“The three roll special is an obvious great value, but the whole menu is reasonable for the portion sizes you get. The Tuna Dumplings are amazing and the special rolls on the white board are always delicious. This is one of the few places that can get fresh wasabi, although, now that people know about it, it tends to sell out quick.“

“The gyozas are my favorite. Literally nowhere else in the area makes them like they do. They are the fried pork gyozas. They are super crispy and the sauce that comes with is delicious. I always get those then hit CinCin next door for lo mein and general tso’s. Takeout and dining in is great. The atmosphere is super cool. I’ve also gotten sushi at the counter and it was tasty. It is a tad expensive for the gyozas $6-8 for the 5 gyozas but worth it.“

“My family and I have been a customer here for years. We met Jae right as he was opening the restaurant and have been coming ever since. We cannot recommend the sushi here enough - absolutely delicious, wide menu, and interesting special options for bigger groups. Don’t be surprised if Jae himself comes by your table to check in. Environment is also friendly for kids. Just be sure to check the operating days and hours carefully so you are not disappointed if you arrive to find it closed. “My family and I had an incredible dining experience tonight at Umai. We had a special, Kinmedai aka Golden Eye Snapper that was so fresh and tasty, out of this world good! We also had a treat with broiled tuna cheek that was also outstanding. Otoro was so velvety and rich, spicy hotate, sweet ebi, unagi, fried crabs, incredible sushi rolls, savory Akadashi (my son ordered a second it was so good) and everything else we ordered tonight was just incredible.
