Yesterday, when my wife went in to pick up a delicious stromboli the owner said, "I think I have your daughter's doll." For him to have kept this doll for weeks is so touching. “So I called in a pick up order of a pizza and mozzarella sticks. When I called I mentioned I had a coupon (from their menu) for a large cheese pizza for 10.99. The girl on the phone said bring it with me. So I did. I went to pick it up; gave her the coupon and she looked at her coworker and showed it to him and she said I don't think we're taking this right now. So I told her it's from the menu I had at home and her response was "we go through phases of when we take them." Didn't even bother to ask management. Now there was no expiration date on it mind you and no one said that on the phone. So what started out as a 17.00 order was now 27.00. Sometimes you have to go above and beyond to avoid these types of reviews. GREAT customer service would have been easily accepting YOUR own coupon. If you go through "phases" don't print the coupon bc the consumer doesn't know when your phases take place. This could've easily been a 4 or 5 star. The food tastes great but the "phases" comment left me floored.“

“Came into this place on a whim today, and SO glad I did! The thin crust pizza was amazing - brought home half and it crisped right back up when I reheated it. Also had a cheese steak Stromboli which was delish. The Italian sub I had needed more meat and cheese inside of it, but good flavors. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. “I don’t come here often, but every time I do, the experience is amazing! The employees are so kind and weren’t just bland people with no emotion. They were all really helpful at making sure we were satisfied with our order. The place is really clean too and well maintained. There is a bathroom at the end of the building, which is also very clean. The pizza was quick at being made and tasted really good. The crust for mostly all the pizza is very thin though, so keep that in mind.“

“We had some errands in the area this evening and I just did not feel like cooking when we were done, however it was 8:15 on a Tuesday night. We live in Jacobus, but we were coming from Red Lion and we stopped at 5 local pizza places on the way towards home. Two closed at 8:00 one was closing at 8:30 and two weren't even open at all today. Just as I was about to give up my son mentioned Roma's on South Queen Street in Dallastown because he said he and his buddies would often go there after football practice this past fall and that the owners were really nice and the food was amazing.

By now it was 8:40 and we really wanted to sit down and eat not take it home and eat it cold, so I went in and asked the owner if he would mind if we would order in, if we tried to hurry and promised once we saw they were ready to walk out after clean up, we would scramble to get out of there so as not to keep them late.

His kindness was so amazing and he insisted I bring the rest of my family in to dine in. That included my daughter and my 4-month-old granddaughter along with my 14-year-old son. The owner and the other gentleman working with him were so friendly. Once we placed our order they just went on about their business sweeping and mopping and doing regular closing activities but both the owner and his employee took the time to make a little bit of small talk and tgey both even fussed over my granddaughter! The owner actually took the time out to come over and asked if the vacuum cleaner would scare her and was also concerned about the overhead ceiling fan being too cold for her. Of course we told him to go on about his work and the vacuum would not bother her and the ceiling fan was just fine. I was just blown away by the service we received, 20 minutes before closing time!!!

We will definitely be back that is for sure! And by the way, my fourteen-year-old was right, the food was amazing!“

“Visiting York from out of town. I had an inch to eat some Stromboli like one does in Pennsylvania. We were lucky enough Shakey Jakes was open until 11. My team and I visited and most of us ordered a Boli. We were told a small would feed one person. So I ordered a large. Holy Stromboli, this thing was huge. I only got through half but I brought it home so I can enjoy it for the next two days. It was so good I felt like it was sent from heaven above. This was EASILY the best food I have ever eaten in Pennsylvania. I can't recommend Shakey Jakes enough. Can't wait to go there again in 3 days when I finally finish my large Boli.“

“I cannot even begin to express how grateful we are for the kindness and exceptional service provided by Jim & Nena's. After a failed delivery with GrubHub it was much needed!! They were patient with GrubHub and my husband as all 3 worked together in rectifying the situation (which was no fault of the restaurant). They not only offered to deliver our order themselves (so we could stop dealing with GrubHub), but also gave us an additional pizza!! Ps. The bacon cheese fries were LOADED in cheese & bacon & they were absolutely delicious. We will certainly be stopping here more often (rather than ordering through GrubHub).“

We called the shop to see if we could bring 25 athletes and coaches into the store instead, and they went above and beyond to accommodate us.
