“One of the newest pizza/boli shops in York is one of it's most unique. It's tucked back in the ever changing Olde Tollgate Village. The layout and decor is warm and inviting once you get past the construction in the lobby.

We tried a plain cheese pizza and a chicken parmeson stromboli. The dough/crust is pillowy and fluffy with firmness on the outside similar to a focaccia. The first thing to hit is the size. This is a huge stromboli with a perfect amount of filling that comes with two containers of sauce. So many places screw up the boli to sauce ratio. There is a parmesan herb mix sprinkled on the top which was great. Absolutely the best stromboli I have had in the entire York area.

The pizza was perfectly cheesy with a good amount of sauce. Most of the pizza was fantastic, however, there's a twist that while it looks amazing to have cheese overflow the crust it's not what you expect. Its a large amount of melted Asiago cheese which can be overpowering. The most popular pizzerias in all of New York typically sprinkle a little finely grated as a finisher before serving. The edge of the crust here is buried in it. The strong flavor is not for everyone.

If I could give them 4.5 stars I would. I'm going with 4 until they dial back the asiago.“

“So I called in a pick up order of a pizza and mozzarella sticks. When I called I mentioned I had a coupon (from their menu) for a large cheese pizza for 10.99. The girl on the phone said bring it with me. So I did. I went to pick it up; gave her the coupon and she looked at her coworker and showed it to him and she said I don't think we're taking this right now. So I told her it's from the menu I had at home and her response was "we go through phases of when we take them." Didn't even bother to ask management. Now there was no expiration date on it mind you and no one said that on the phone. So what started out as a 17.00 order was now 27.00. Sometimes you have to go above and beyond to avoid these types of reviews. GREAT customer service would have been easily accepting YOUR own coupon. If you go through "phases" don't print the coupon bc the consumer doesn't know when your phases take place. This could've easily been a 4 or 5 star. The food tastes great but the "phases" comment left me floored.“

“I am a local truck driver. As I finished my last delivery almost 2 hours from home. I google “subs near me”. This place popped up. Wasn’t too far out of my way. And I didn’t have a trailer so I went off to find this place. (Small shops are the best in my opinion), the Italian sub on a fresh baked roll was amazing. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area. Definitely will be back“

“Impromptu lunch for 7 coworkers. Heard they were under new management. The place is SUPER clean. Even the stainless steel cooking appliances were sparkling clean!! All of our food was brought out at the same time which I love. Every meal item after the next eas good!! Fries are always on point. Can't wait to come back with my family over the weekend.“

“I don’t come here often, but every time I do, the experience is amazing! The employees are so kind and weren’t just bland people with no emotion. They were all really helpful at making sure we were satisfied with our order. The place is really clean too and well maintained. There is a bathroom at the end of the building, which is also very clean. The pizza was quick at being made and tasted really good. The crust for mostly all the pizza is very thin though, so keep that in mind.“

“A large space to relax, very accommodating service, and custom pizza! Set up in a made-to-order fashion, the pizza is quick to create and make to whatever I was feeling that day. I'm a huge fan and look forward to going and I think the price is very reasonable for a personalized pizza.“

“Visiting York from out of town. I had an inch to eat some Stromboli like one does in Pennsylvania. We were lucky enough Shakey Jakes was open until 11. My team and I visited and most of us ordered a Boli. We were told a small would feed one person. So I ordered a large. Holy Stromboli, this thing was huge. I only got through half but I brought it home so I can enjoy it for the next two days. It was so good I felt like it was sent from heaven above. This was EASILY the best food I have ever eaten in Pennsylvania. I can't recommend Shakey Jakes enough. Can't wait to go there again in 3 days when I finally finish my large Boli.“

“I cannot even begin to express how grateful we are for the kindness and exceptional service provided by Jim & Nena's. After a failed delivery with GrubHub it was much needed!! They were patient with GrubHub and my husband as all 3 worked together in rectifying the situation (which was no fault of the restaurant). They not only offered to deliver our order themselves (so we could stop dealing with GrubHub), but also gave us an additional pizza!! Ps. The bacon cheese fries were LOADED in cheese & bacon & they were absolutely delicious. We will certainly be stopping here more often (rather than ordering through GrubHub).“

We love to go here on dates because it's hard to beat the price, taste, and experience anywhere else.

We love the corner tables where we can hang out for awhile.

Also just love the MODness all around.

Tonight we were served by a new employee who was feeling nervous about getting everything right for us, but he was doing a great job and the result was the best tasting pizza we've had there yet... and we've had some amazing pizzas.

“I love this place, it's very hole in the wall but for having Pizza in the brand name they do so much more. I work nights so I get food from here often but I don't have to get the same thing all the time. So far my only criticism is about 1/3rd of the time when I order a square cut pizza it gets delivered and it's regular cut, but that's really been about the only hiccup in the service. Other than that it's one of my staple bad for me food places in town lol“

“Just want to say that had an amazing experience from booking the party to packing up and leaving the party. Our party host I think Mackenzie took very good care of us and always made sure everyone snd everything was good . The pizza was hot and fresh . The kids had a blast . Playing games for 2 hours was slot of fun but exhausting . My daughter loved it as well as her friends . Will be booking again in the near future . “My family eats only organic and very healthy. Bake our own breads organic from scratch etc. at home. We rarely eat out because most restaurants use junk ingredients. When we do eat out we eat pizza and subs. We travel to Angelino's in Philly, Franks in Baltimore, NJ, NYC we travel to eat the best pizza places known period. York County is not a desirable place for good pizza. However they're serving real flour here to make their fresh bread daily, make their pizzas etc. Unbleached and potassium bromate free. This makes the elasticity harder to work with which is why most pizza shops around here cut corners and use crap flour. I do recommend ordering the pies crispy for the absolute best presentation and taste. All the wood fire pizzas are very good as are the regular pies. Their cheesesteak sub which I tweaked to have provolone, chopped ribeye and fried onions versus white American is very good as well. Made with their fresh daily baked bread. Gold Crust always had the best cheesesteaks in town, they may have just gotten knocked off that block. Probably the only place we will eat pizza around here ever again for these reasons. Good job guys!!!“

We are glad we did because the pizza is awesome (everybody LOVED it). I had asked for mine to be well done & the restaurant messaged to find out if I want both prepared that way. “I've been here a few times and have ordered out a few dozen times. The food here is good if not very good in my opinion. The Cheese Steak is very good especially on their Turnover bread. The only complaint is a couple of times I felt they under performed on the amount of cheese steak and toppings. The Fries are very good and I've always got nice hot salted just right. The Hamburgers are very good and big enough with fries to fill you up. The pizzas Ive had have been great as well and my girlfriend likes the Chicken, Bacon Ranch one the most and she is not a pizza person. Being from the Philippines she is more of fish eater than American Food. She also like their Chicken Cheese Steak again she doesn't eat red meat at all because in the Philippines she never really ate it, it was to expensive. They have a great selection of beer too, if you go to pick up a little early you can drink something while waiting. Long review but I wanted to get one out since I have always liked my food from there so far. I saw a few really bad reviews about the owner which shouldn't have much to do with their food. Order pickup and you won't even know who the owner is. People get drunk in bars and get kicked out then give a bad review since they evidently did something to draw the owners attention.“
