“Excellent food and drinks. Our favorite spot to go to, however, they have the worst service ever. The girls will come once and literally vanish for the remainder of the night. I usually have go up to them while they sit at the bar chitchatting to put in a new food/drink order or get my check. They need better wait staff, other than that best spot in the area for sure!“
“My husband and I had dinner there last night. He had the Shrimp with garlic. I had the Vitello Dolce Vita which is running this month of April. Both were absolutely fantastic. Coupled with the homemade pasta they were both served over made both dishes so delicious. Pasta was light as a feather. We also had the calamari for an appetizer and it was cooked to perfection which is so hard to find at times. Huge portions! Service was great also! If you like Italian food and homemade pasta give them a try!“
“Phenomenal!! 5 stars are not enough for this absolutely amazing food experience.First the atmosphere is cozy with wood furniture and stone walls with small dining areas off the main room. Now for the real review. The food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!It happened to be pasta night, so that is what we ordered. Penne and meatballs and linguini marsala.This was the first time I can honestly say those meatballs are the closest I have had in a restaurant to my Nonna's. They were tender and tasty. Most restaurant meatballs are dense and have no flavor, needing the marinara.Oh boy the marinara was so delicious and light.Well I could go on and on, but that is enough. The only other thing is the marsala. My husband was over the moon eating his dinner.The dessert tasted like home made tiramisu and bread pudding. The Italian margaritas were the best margaritas I ever had.Last but not least, our server Chris was the consumate professional server. He was friendly, attentive and the perfect person for the job.Yes, we will go back and bring friends.“
“Love Porters’.It’s the great welcome to the west ward. Perfect in summer for sitting outside cozy and winter for hunkering down. One of the beating hearts of this part of town that’s really thriving. Plants and coffee cafe, Pesca Peru, Mystery Box games. It’s totally worth the walk up Northampton street.“
“The food quality and service were good. Facilities interesting. Both guests ordered a pasta dish. No salads or rolls came with the dish which were priced higher then other similar restaurants in the area. Beverage prices were also higher. Parking (metered on street) could be a problem depending on time.Overall experience was good but not worth their pricing.“
“You'll find super friendly service here. They have open mic nights and live music. The eclectic atmosphere is very cool and cozy. Most of the menu can be made vegan, or is already vegan. The tastes are on point here. They have a vegan dessert as well. Gluten free options are somewhat limited, but you can get a burger, nachos and tacos. (Tacos are only on Tuesdays sadly).“
“Had the Mugs Cuban, I'm very skeptical about how establishments make their Cubans, but this was very savory. Delicious chunks of shredded pork, juicy & flavorful! The pickels are minimal which is good. Their sauce which is pablano aioli was juicy & had a huge amount of flavor. Kettle chips with the sandwich. Fare price for today's market. 2 drafts of guiness. Good selection of beer on draft / bottle. Spirits as well. The bartender (Nick) was very attentive to everyone needs. I plan on coming back again.“
“Been eating breakfast here for at least 20 years. Clean , excellent service and a great chef. Coffee and many types of teas. Many Lafayette students frequent from time to time. Across the street from the Lafayette Inn.Vegetarian options: Probably more veggies. for lunch but for breakfast: omelets, hot cereal, many types of bread and muffins.Kid-friendliness: Chairs for the little ones“
“An old customer of mine said Big Woody’s has gone down in quality a lot over the years - not sure I agree.I’ve never been here before and we decided to try them out for delivery. The buffalo chicken stromboli was HUGE. Personal is the understatement of the decade! Portions are generous! I tried my wife’s buffalo chicken cheesesteak too which was very good, hoping to come here again some time.Parking: There’s just about always parking in the whole area where Big Woody’s is located. There’s a Supercuts, a (I think) Chinese place, a bank, an Ace Hardware, and more, so they made sure ample parking was available.“
“We were visiting from out of town and saw this place had karaoke so we went. Everyone was so friendly and the drinks were a good price. Service was fantastic. It reminded me of the little dive bar we have back home that closed down. If you're looking for a low key place, I definitely recommend this one. Maybe go bowling and stop here after!“
