“I am not a big drinker because I only like stuff that tastes GOOD. And let me tell you, Before the Barrel’s stuff tastes GOOD. I love love love the Black and Blueberry mixed with lemonade, and the Salted Caramel Pecan is amazing by itself or mixed with cider. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed and tastings are FREE‼️“
“Great local spot, all of the bartenders are awesome and Erin is bringing more food 🤤and doing a great job as new management! Nick is a great bartender and the Sauce is always a good time 😁🤩 highly recommended for a more lowkey night for couples and friends alike 😄“
“All I will say is that it's so small like yes I wanna dance but it's so small the dance floor isn't as big as you would expect people are dancing in front of you if you sit by the stage are you guys ever gonna rebuild ? To have more room to walk around and dance?“
“Very friendly staff. Never been to a "beer store" before, coming from NY. Was cool that they sold beer, and also served beer. Not sure if that's how they all are, but if I find myself in Erie again I'll definitely go back to 1000 Beers.“

“The best wings in town! local, very chill hangout spot, always a good time!“
“A wonderful family owned and run tavern with a quaint Lake Erie, Nautical theme. The service is as good as it gets. Prices are extremely reasonable and the staff is ALWAYS friendly. It is worth noting that it is a smoker friendly bar, but their smoke eater machines are excellent. Some of the best in the area.“
“Sad such a fine comfortable customer friendly tavern is riddled with horrible troublemaking customers. I was told some black customers want to destroy this fine white established biz. The food, and service in the day is superb. The need for armed guards at night speaks volumes of Erie's obviously terrible political leadership.“
“Ryan Quinn did tattoos for myself and my daughters of our cats paw print-we had our cat for 14 years and he passed away a week ago, we wanted something meaningful to remember him by and Ryan delivered. Daisy and Andrea also pierced us as well, everyone was awesome! Would definitely recommend!!!“
“The night before our recent Vistage meeting in Erie, I had the privilege of dining at the Erie Club, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Tucked away in the intimate wine room in the basement, our dinner felt like a hidden gem—warm, private, and rich with atmosphere. The food was absolutely fantastic, from the perfectly prepared entrees to the attentive service that made the entire evening feel special. It’s the kind of meal and setting that leaves a lasting impression—and I’m already hoping I’m lucky enough to return again soon.
What makes the Erie Club even more remarkable is the history that surrounds you the moment you walk through the doors. Housed in the Charles Manning Reed Mansion, the building dates back to 1846–1849 and originally served as the private home of Charles Manning Reed, a member of one of Erie’s founding families. The Reed lineage traces back to Colonel Seth Reed, one of the city’s earliest settlers. The mansion’s Greek Revival architecture—complete with a grand pedimented portico and Ionic columns—sets the tone for the elegance within.
Over the decades, the structure has evolved to accommodate modern needs while preserving its historical character. Notable additions include expansive bay windows, a recreation hall, and a two-story extension, all seamlessly integrated into the original design. Since 1904, when the Erie Club officially took over the mansion, it has served as a private social institution and a guardian of Erie’s heritage. Its inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places and its location within the West Sixth Street Historic District only underline its importance to the region.
Whether you’re visiting for business, a social gathering, or just a memorable meal, the Erie Club offers a rare combination of historic charm, culinary excellence, and unmatched ambiance. It’s a place where the past is beautifully preserved—but the experience feels very much alive.“

“My husband and I enjoyed our Valentine's dinner one day early at the 814 Chophouse and we were very pleased. We used our Erie Fine Dining card. Our food was delicious including shrimp cocktail, Tuscan bread with wonderfully infused olive oil, Caesar salad with anchovies, and a wonderful Spanish red wine Campo Viejo Tempranillo suggested by our professional and knowledgeable head server who truly has a passion for her craft. My husband had a perfectly prepared steak with a 1/2 bulb of garlic & baked potato and I had their artfully prepared salmon with spinach in a delectably seasoned broth with a little extra drizzle of garlic and lemon flavor. Dessert was dark choc. ice cream for him and peanut butter pie for me with French pressed coffee to complete our truly wonderful evening. We shared our appreciation and compliments with our server and their chef. We are so glad they have retained the "Hunt Room" atmosphere of old - very fine dining in our opinion. AAA+ If they could clone our server and increase their staff it would be perfect. We started out with cocktails at the bar in Bolero's. Would love to hear some Latin guitar music live by Julio Quezada or Mambo in the future or even recorded - to add to a truly enjoyable evening. We got to try a brand new cocktail created by our Chophouse server - an Elderflower Fizz - delicious and topped off with a splash of Spumante. Not an inexpensive evening but worth every penny in our opinion.“
“I thought Uptown Browns was an excellent place to go and have a drink. The bartenders there are excellent and sweethearts I I I had a great girl was serving us and she was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend this place to anybody that's cool with a local flavor and down to hang out with just anybody because we all get along better when we all do it together!“
