“It was a neat little mom and pop breakfast place recommended by a friend. We waited about 15 minutes for a table, but there was a line out the door after we sat down. The food was excellent. It's a little bit crowded inside but I would recommend it.“

We arrived less than a hour before closing, and we were still greeted warmly.Alex, our waiter, was patient, kind, and simply exquisite. “Lovely little homemade restaurant. Very family restaurant vibe. Walls littered with cool old stories or interesting things. Love the old Almost cobblestone house feel. Wood floors. Brick walls. Good beer special, dinner was good for price $14-$15 for our eggplant and pasta dinner and same price ($14) my chopped sirloin dinner with mashed potatoes and salad. Overall expected a real steak cut, not a Salisbury style steak,… and the eggplant was decent,… I’m Italian and know quality fried eggplant more than most. But overall still 5 stars because the servers did awesome. Constantly checked on us. Various servers made rounds. Very polite. Also respect the conservative vibe with honoring military and other things.“
“Happened to stumble up on this hidden gem in downtown Erie. Coming from Florida on a travel contract, I was a little homesick but coming by here definitely made my day a little brighter. The food is fresh and made to order. I had the catfish& whiting nuggets, hushpuppies, fried orka. I high recommend this place. Thank You for the Southern hospitality. I will be back.“

“We came to Syd's after our second day on a 5 day bicycle tour. We wanted to have a solid meal. Boy was it. The tossed salad was fresh and salad dressings are all home made and so delicious I wanted to dip my finger in the remaining dressing while waiting on my meatloaf I had the meatloaf Marsala which was rich and flavorful. The rice pilaf was also delicious...my buddy got Baked Cod and mashed potatoes... He said it was exquisite!“

“Had dinner here while in town. Busy place, make a reservation if you can. We had to wait 30 minutes but it was a Saturday night and I didn't make a reservation. Lobby/waiting area is super comfortable. Best view of the lake around.Food was good. We had the fish n chips which were actually awesome. Fish tacos, they were good, clam chowder was decent.Our server Giselle was a sweet as pie and very accommodating. My 9 year old daughter and the rest us loved her enthusiasm. Great server!“
