“Truly great food. This place appears rather unassuming at first glance but I have tried 4 different menu items and every one of them has been spectacular. The burgers are the best, large, juicy, and excellently crafted. The sandwiches are unique and tasty, and the rice bowls are surprisingly hefty with a wonderful flavor. It is always clean and the waitresses have consistently been down to earth and friendly. The average item will be $15-19 which is typically a little pricier for me, and yet I am left wondering how food that good is so cheap every time.

The drinks follow the theme of excellence, they have $7 basic citrus vodka drinks that again are just well balanced and delicious. I’ve only tried a couple of the $12 cocktails but was surprised at how fancy I felt drinking them. now I am not a fancy fellow, but they were seriously good. They would easily be worth $18-$22 in West Chester.

In conclusion, this restaurant has great prices for the quality of food, a clean and friendly atmosphere, and most importantly, extremely thorough consistency in the quality of the items they present to the customer.“

“What a treat to find this place. Called ahead for closing time and was told to come on by. No lines no waiting. Atmosphere was homey and welcoming. Staff pleasant and accommodating. Real home cooking made from scratch that satisfied our souls. A definite revisit for the next visit to Lancaster PA. Stop by and be delighted.

“How many times have I driven by this gem, not knowing what I was missing?
We sat in the bar area, had a view out the window.
The "cook" (bull$hit millennial hipster term) on my burger was perfect. They toasted the roll...Excellent! French fries were exactly what I wanted. Just regular, normal thickness, no seasoning added, not batter-dipped, french fries.
Only two cons: I would not get the potstickers again. They were battered and deep fried. Also, ginger ale was pretty weak.“

“We were seated right away, our server Jack came over and introduced himself and asked us what we would like to drink and unfortunately my phone rang and he told my husband he’ll come back for my order. He was absolutely wonderful, has an awesome personality and just made our night and we will definitely come back as long as we have Jack as our server or someone just like home! “We had a bridal shower here recently and it couldn’t have gone better! First of all, the restaurant was GORGEOUS - beautiful wooden interiors and classy decorations. The service was also fantastic, with everything ready for us as soon as we arrived and excellent service throughout the afternoon.

Finally, the food and drink - WOW! The cocktails were incomparable - so creative and delicious. I would’ve had one of everything! We had a buffet for lunch with many protein options and delicious veggies. Every dish was flavorful and filling.

I would highly recommend them for any special event or an evening out - we had a perfect experience!“

“My family and I travel a lot and if you love authenticity and hidden gems, you’ll love Clair’s. If you’re looking for a gourmet experience, this probably isn’t the place for you. The place is super quaint - reminds me of an old 50’s diner mixed with grandma’s kitchen. The food was very homemade - the grilled cheeses and melts were awesome. Buttery and yummy. My son got chicken fingers with a side of homemade mashed potatoes. The potatoes were outstanding. My husband got Turkey with filling and it was fine. For dessert, we got homemade pumpkin pie and chocolate cake with peanut butter icing - both were amazing! The service - Amanda (Clair’s daughter) - was terrific. She was so nice. Made great suggestions and encouraged us to come back for their famous breakfast. We are from NYC and felt welcomed as out of towners. All in all - if you like authentic towny experiences - Clair’s is highly recommended.“
