“Wonderful lunch today at Bruno‘s! We sat outside, enjoyed a chicken salad, wrap, a grilled cheese with bacon, and a cheeseburger, with ice cream served in parfait dishes for dessert. Everything was fresh, tasty, and served quickly and with a smile. Perfect experience all around.“

“Too difficult to buy a cup of coffee here, the coffee ordering set up should be in the front, not the back and why is it so dark in the back? I want to like this place but it has no vibe…just the sight of staffers running around. The Hostess always looks bored and the back is like a madhouse. It’s one of the only places to get a cup of coffee ☕ near to Rittenhouse Park but where it’s well lit, it’s a quiet upscale grocery shop but the back feels like you’ve entered a subway station at rush hour!

Not sure what the remedy is but I’d suggest that you open up the front space, remove the annoying velvet rope and stop putting “reserved” signs on all of the tables (just sit people there who want to enjoy a cup of coffee for 15 minutes). This is a beautiful spot, but boy does it stress me out once you walk in the back.

Put on Italian music and hire some drop dead gorgeous guy or gal who knows how to convey ITALIAN WARMTH to customers!!! Every time I walk in the hostess is shy. She should be greeting guests and be IN FRONT, not planted at the podium.

“We came here during the height of FIFA. Even so, it wasn't that crowded inside. We got the pumpkin & banana bread and the drip coffee. I believe it was the owner that was taking our order; she was very nice! The pumpkin bread was very delicious! There was also a good amount of seating inside, although it looks small from outside. The interior and overall atmosphere of the cafe was very welcoming and relaxing.“

“Yet another hidden gem in Philly. I came in for the first time today by chance and immediately felt so so so welcomed into the space. It is much smaller of a space than Madis Coffee Roasters (Twisted Grounds has only a few small tables to sit), but the staff is equally as kind, friendly, talkative, and enjoyable to be around. You can quickly tell that the team here has a great rapport with each other, and it makes the atmosphere comfortable and fun to be in. They have super cute merch and engaging conversations. I'm excited for this to be one of my regular haunts in Philly. The manager runs this place like a well-oiled machine.“

“I love the atmosphere here - cozy friendly mom and pop shop dishing out a simple menu. Everything's great. Very fun place to bring a friend or two or three and share.
The prices reflect the neighborhood (it's a little more expensive than say, West Philly), but I still come here for the atmosphere and warm service over others in town.

If you're coming alone, the entrees are enough for two meals!

“I took my mom out to brunch and just randomly decided to walk across the street and see some vendor shops set up outside. I was informed that this is the best coffee around by the owner (who also passionately raved about his wife who runs the business). I wasn't skeptical but told him, EVERYBODY says that but I was happy to indulge. I ended up grabbing a coffee and well, it did not disappoint. The taste was amazing, the experience was personable, and the impact will ensure anytime I travel to Philly I will come back to grab my coffee here. I highly recommend, my mom even purchased a bag of coffee beans without having a grinder, so def. Worth it.“

It’s really nice that he takes the time to have conversations with his customers, my brother has been a regular here for years and would agree. I always enjoy the food and matcha lattes. “I’ve walked by this spot so many times, and it seemed every time I was hungry they were closed (closed on weekends) but today I finally stepped in. I ordered 2 bánh mìs and a Vietnamese coffee. Pete, the owner/operator of the spot was the only one there and we instantly jumped into great conversation about the music scene in Philly back in the late 90s. We ended up knowing a lot of the same people. Philly is a tight knit group. So even before eating the food I was already a fan of this spot. Pete served me his special take on Vietnamese coffee while we talked and he made the sandwiches. The iced coffee was excellent, but different and less sweet than Vietnamese coffee I’ve had in the past. He also used ice cubes made of coffee which was an added bonus for a coffee junkie like myself. After we talked for nearly 20 min, I walked home with my sandwich and WOW! Such a solid bánh mì! I told him to make it like he would make it for himself (spicy) and he knocked it out of the park. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing all my music friends here when they are in the neighborhood. I highly encourage Olde City residents as well as Philly locals to give this place a try!“

“Wish I could rate this spot a full 10 stars! It has such a cozy, welcoming vibe that instantly makes you feel at ease. On my first visit, I ordered the lavender latte and vanilla‑almond croissant. Both blew my mind and far surpassed what I had anticipated.“

The pastries are made by a local bakery in S Philly.

“I didn't realize I've never left a review but my husband and I have been coming here regularly for over 4 years. There are baristas that have been here for that long and are amazing. They are so so nice. I've been coming here with my newborn and now she'll be four and they truly embody the concept of a third space for everyone including rambunctious toddlers. They have never made us feel less welcome for our child being a child and have always made us and our children feel welcome no matter what. The coffee/barista talent speaks for itself, we have definitely been to hundreds, if not thousands, of coffee shops around the world between the two of us and definitely we always compare it to this gem! They have really cool events as well I've been to a couple of poetry nights. I don't drink alcohol but it being open late makes it a great place to have an evening tea or read a book in a different evening atmosphere.“

“Place has best bagels in the area by a mile. Only drawback is it's impossible to place a call ahead order. Either no one answers or you get strange prompts saying their line is busy even the phone doesn't even ring once. Really weird. So be prepared to wait on weekends.“

“Flores is so amazing and my new neighborhood spot. I love the coffee shops in the Fairmount/Francisville area, but this one is special. It’s so cozy and Mrs. Betty is SO lovely. I also appreciate bringing a Latina flair to the neighborhood. One of my favorite coffee shops is in Miami and this place reminds me of there. Run and go try it- you won’t be disappointed!! “This la colombe is exceptional. The coffee is delicious its flavourful but not too bitter and their milk to coffee ratio is so correct. I love their iced brewed teas. The interior is so big and lots of seating. Music is played at a perfect level where you could enjoy it or tune it out.
