“The entire evening was incredible. The authentic German food reminded me of grandma’s. The owners are welcoming and make you feel at home. Not to mention 2 floors of antique gems. I’m sorry we didn’t discover this sooner but certainly will be back.“

“It has been a long while since I have been so driven as to write a review for a Hawley restaurant. The place speaks for itself.... for a restaurant with very little parking , you will find it FULL with reservations required. We have eaten there several times on a Thursday night during the early bird special menu and I highly recommend it . On a scale of 1-10 I give them a 14. I was referred to the Ridge and have in turn referred many others. A smaller , very comfortable place with 100 year old victorian architecture and some of the best food and broad selection of entrees that I have experienced anywhere in a long time.“

The pho lacks the characteristic flavors; there is no hoisin sauce, lemon, basil or mint leaves. Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews, we all decided to order pho. “My husband and I have been vacationing here in the Poconos for about 10 years. We are from Maryland. We discovered Cakes and Scones several years ago and ever since, we make it a point to go to our favorite bakery, Cakes & Scones! Always have had the best scones, cakes (esp the chocolate lava cake!!), coffee, quiches, and pies!!!We bought a blueberry crumb pie this year and it was loaded with blueberries and not too sweet, but sweet enough! It was delicious to say the least!! One reviewer complained that they did not have doughnuts—I would refer that said person to check out Dunkin Doughnuts!!Tere and Andy are wonderful bakers, pleasant to talk to and most helpful. We always look forward when we come to the Poconos and check out their latest bakery item!! We have never been disappointed!!“

“This place is awesome! The epitome of a small downtown luncheonette. Their potato chips are homemade, crispy, salty, and in simple terms, addictive! Coffee was excellent. Chili was excellent roast beef wrap was excellent. Price is very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place, if I was here for longer, I would be eaten there several more times.😎💪🏼“

“Back on 2012 I would to go to John’s every Monday night for All you can eat pasta with my late husband and 4-6 other family members dept who was at our house or available. Going there wasn’t the same without him and they were so kind as to send a tray of pasta and a tray of meatballs at that terrible time but I went sporadically. Well today Nov13 2024 my new husbands and I were in the area and went to John’s. It was nice to be there and the food was sooooo good like it was back then and the service was as it always was Great! I was so glad we went. there were a lot of new faces. But I did ask for Michelle and heard she is there yet. Keep it up John’s. Don’t let the photos fool you—this place is a gem. We tried the pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, pork dumplings, pork egg rolls, and crab Rangoon, and everything was genuinely delicious. You can tell it’s all made from scratch with quality ingredients, not the usual greasy or overly salty takeout.

The portion sizes are generous, the food was hot and fresh, and it’s an excellent value overall. The dumplings and egg rolls had great texture and flavor, and the sweet and sour chicken was perfectly balanced—not too sweet or too soggy.

It’s family-owned with friendly, efficient service, and they clearly care about what they’re doing. Definitely a solid choice for takeout, and we’ll be adding it to our regular rotation when we’re at the cabin. Highly recommend.“

“We are in town for a wedding and chose this place because they make a vegan pizza. It's not an after thought or something to placate the one vegan friend in the group. It's thoughtful and delicious and filling. There's no fake cheese, just all whole ingredients. My nonvegan husband really liked the carrot puree. Definitely will be back when we're in the area.“

“RECOMMEND if you want your meal ruined and get ignored and leave hungry! Awful experience! Rude staff! Ignored us for almost an hour and would not bus open tables. We cleaned our own and got ourselves cutlery and menus. They ignored us longer and left us at a filthy table while others came in and were served. They said they were understaffed . People kept getting clams (clam night) and then we heard a waiter say no more clams. No excuse for this nastiness! I will tell everyone about this experience. Totally ignorant! Stay away! RUDE! “Worth the drive off the beaten path. KCPepper consistently serves up delicious food for us every time we stop in and at a reasonable price. We left SO stuffed last night, I physically couldn’t take the last bite of my Hot Honey Chicken sandwich but I wanted to sooo bad. Fun, casual vibes, we love coming just the two of us but have bought kids and family from out of town as well. “This is a great place to eat that is not overly priced, with a down home and friendly atmosphere. It is family owned and operated for over 50 years. Not to mention their sunday sauce is made from scratch.. if you like good italian food, this is the place for you!!“

“A true gem in the Poconos. Nothing better than sitting by those glorious falls! The atmosphere here is perfection. The distinction between small and big plates is difficult. Some of our small plates had enough for four people while our big plates only had three items. I wish they offered you a little more for your party size and modified the price accordingly. But the food is wonderful and our server Xavier was excellent. Great spot for a special night!“
