“DJ’s Smoke shack prepared the food for my mother-in-law‘s 100th birthday party celebration. There were 51 attending, and everyone raved about the food. The price was half what I was quoted from Dickies’ Barbecue. We were provided a large container to keep all the food hot until we served it. There was plenty of food for everyone and leftovers to split among families. We had barbecued chicken, pulled pork, three sauces, rolls, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese which tasted just like homemade. I will definitely use this business for parties again.“

“Came here for lunch with a friend and had a great time. Our server was warm and attentive throughout, checked in at the right moments and gave genuinely helpful suggestions when we were deciding what to order.

Started with the clam chowder, rich, well seasoned, good chunks of clam, perfect for a lunch starter. For mains, the halibut was cooked perfectly, flaky and moist. The shrimp was also excellent, fresh without being overcooked.

I can’t explain how the flavors come together for this dynamic appetizer but, Wow! It was fantastic!!! Our entrees of the scallop po boy…..( yum!!! )…… and the seafood enchiladas……. ( oh my goodness!!! ). …were delightful!! So, so delicious!!!! Sweet potato pie and pumpkin cheesecake ice cream were an amazing ending to a superb meal!!! We’ll definitely be back soon! “We were invited to the friends and family breakfast the day before opening. We were all absolutely floored by this place and have already made a new tradition to come every sunday! The wait staff and INCREDIBLE, they are so sweet and so speedy! They were so considerate, turned the fire place off for us, and talked with our kids. The restaurant is clean, calm, almost beachy feeling. The most important...the food was absolutely amazing AND at an incredible price. The portions are large and VERY affordable, while looking and tasting like high end breakfast. This place makes you feel rich, and will thankfully not give your bank account the bill.“

Complained to waitress who said it had to be that way so they could hear in the back for take out orders. “Food: The food (for the most part, there are a couple of items on the menu I'm personally not a big fan of) is pretty good & comes in nice big serving sizes (again, for the most part).

Price: It's generally about the same price or a bit cheaper (depending on what you get) as most fast food restaurants, except this is a diner/cafe & you are getting a decent bit more food per dollar.

Building/ Parking: It's a pretty tiny building with pretty limited parking (you can always find some parking somewhere nearby), but it's clean & decently maintained.

Staff: They're cool people, nothing extraordinary, but also nothing bad I've experienced so far (I've been several times).

Overall: This place is pretty good. If you are looking for breakfast (or potentially lunch) in Middletown, (from my experience) either here or the Brownstone Cafe are your best options (If you have a big party like 6+, I'd probably go to the brownstone, but just 1-4, here is really nice & there's typically not much of any wait like the Brownstone).
