“Decadent parties and fragrant coffee, this cafe is a must visit. The pistachio sticky bun lives up to its reputation! The bagels are more like a sandwich than bagel but also delicious. It gets quite crowded on weekends so come early for a spot. They have a cute outdoor patio for the warmer months.“

“Came here at 8:30 on a Friday night with my family and the place was surprisingly empty. Ahmed, the owner, gave us a warm welcome and prompt service. He gave us several recommendations (we ordered them all) and every dish was great. We got the branzino, the lamb chops, the half grilled chicken, hummusand mishwia. While every dish was truly tasty, my two favorites were the branzino and mishwia. I told Ahmed it was my parents anniversary and he gave us tea and baklava on the house. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone. The food, the hospitality, and the service is top notch.“
“Had my first tailgate experience ?????@ A Phillies Game!!! ❣️ Amazing time.Parking was not bad. Definitely crowded. But it seemed like everyone just enjoyed themselves. The seating we purchased was about 35.00 each for 5 people. Not bad!! Food and Souvenirs were costly. But that's to be expected!! No complaints from me!!! Just a really good time. ?“

“I chose the vedge experience to try 3 dishes and desert for $65/person. All the plates were not only uniquely thought through and delicious, but also presented like works of art. I really enjoyed the creative balance of flavors they used from only plant sources that even mimicked non-vegetarian dishes I've had before. Menu rotates seasonal so I will be returning soon and is well accomodating for gluten free patrons. An experience well worth trying“

“What an AMAZING and DELIGHTFUL shop!! The sandwiches were literally to die for! I got the Knucklehead on a Sesame Roll toasted and jt was SO good!!!! I went with my boyfriend! They played soft Sinatra music and the vibe was totally chill. The Host was funny and laid back and the food was impeccable! We didn’t even notice but the Owner was at a table in the shop and was so friendly! I literally felt like a welcomed guest in his home! He gave us free drinks on the house and gave us pointers on how to get to the concert venue we were going to!! Such great service! Adorable place to eat! Really happy we chose here to eat before a concert!!!!“

“I had a party and needed a gluten free and vegan dessert option for a few guest, Burt also wanted something the masses could enjoy. The donuts were coupled with an ice cream bar and other mini dessert and NOT ONE DONUT WAS LEFT! Everyone loved them! And the flavors are rotating and funky and not your average donut! Will absolutely be back!“

“This is a fabulous local restaurant and if I lived in the neighborhood I would be there at least twice a month. I was hosting some out-of-town visitors and we enjoyed between the three of us, two plates of pasta and a caprese salad and it was more than enough food and we also enjoyed our red and white BYOB wines. Afterwards we went down a block Dirty Frank's on the corner of 13th and Pine for a nightcap which completed a full circle Philadelphia experience.“

“Update: originally posted my unfortunate experience and the owners response here was prompt and understanding. I am amending my review in light of their response because it shows that they do care for patrons and our concerns. i will not contact further because i did not post the review for some freebies but for the principle of appropriate response to customer concerns.I recommend ANY of their cupcakes because they are always on point. their cookies are big and beautifully delicious. cinnamon roll is good. iced coffee hits the spot!i’ve had the hangover sandwich, the mccrumb, waffle hash and breakfast burrito and i just find it really awesome that they feature other vegan restaurants food. that’s innovative and great for trying different options with each bakery purchase.if you love cannolis get the large otherwise the mini will do the trick!chocolate and confetti cake are a GREAT gift for any last minute parties!parking sucks but there’s nothing the business can do about it. i would do dine in more often if there was easier parking in the area because the decor is very fun. they take apple pay.Snippet of my original review:i buy here very often. i buy cakes for birthdays, uber eats for delivery and do pick up.for the first time, i had an issue and i told an employee and their response was indifferent. […] my solution: use the BOGO on uber eats when selling treats that their quality might not be up to par with usual standard and take customers concerns seriously.Vegetarian options: all vegan!!!Parking: parking is the worst. i would go there more often if parking was accessible.“

“The BEST cream filled doughnuts I have ever had. The filling itself is light and creamy with just the right amount of sweet. The texture of the doughnut was exceptionally well done as well. The peanut butter cream filled doughnut had peanut butter mixed in with the cream filling, the Nutella just has Nutella spread on top. Plenty of variety even in cream filled doughnuts. The flavor of the blueberry fritter was top 2 for a non-apple fritter. Not as heavy and crispy as I like a fritter though.Choosing from 2 cases of minimum 30 doughnut 0 do not recommend.Eating any variety of doughnut they have: 10/10 would recommend going every day for 2 weeks to try them all and enjoy favorites. I want to make another Google account to rate 5stars again⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Yes, yes, yes! I have come here twice now and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. You can really tell how much care/time is put into the food. From the sides to mains, everything is a 10/10. The service is impeccable as well. You will not be disappointed. This is by far one of the best Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants in the city. Portions are also huge. PS don't skip on the homemade hot sauce, it's SO GOOD. You will not have a bad meal here.“

“I lived in Seattle for almost two decades and will admit to being a bit of a coffee shop snob. The Nook hits so many of my high points. Extremely good locally roasted coffee (in-house!). Amazing baked goods. The cocoa coffee bread must be tried, but leave me a slice! Great staff. If I ever move out of the neighborhood, I'll journey to the Nook for a great cup and bite.“

“We have been getting take out from here for years but never sat inside to eat. We decided for our 1 year wedding anniversary that we would go here and it did not disappoint! We have always called the gnocchi "pillows of heaven." They are the absolute best! We also had the lamb which just fell off the bone and was so tender. And we definitely recommend the buratta for a starter. You can tell that everything is homemade including the bread. The service is also stellar! The staff is so attentive and so nice. We felt like family the whole meal. It's also a byob which is great to bring your favorite bottle of wine. I can't say enough about this tiny south Philly gem!“

“Over all a good experience! The appetizers are probably the best part of the dining experience. The entrees are a little too high price for the quantity of food given. Albeit it is a higher end in terms of establishment I don't feel the elegance dictates portion. The dumplings of all sorts are certainly the highlight along with the robust and bountifully sized sides.Vegetarian options: Quite a few vegy options considering the menu type“

“Awesome spot with great service, fun atmosphere, and a unique menu. My niece raved about the burger. My mom and I shared the pastrami fried rice which was a delicious surprise. I wasn't expecting how well the flavor combinations come together with the scallions, pastrami, and mustard sauce. The portions are huge! Definitely a go-to spot.“

“What we ordered: Baker’s Basket, Continental Breakfast, French Omelet, and a hot latte.I’d recommend the Continental Breakfast if you’re indecisive or if you want a variety in one order, which was fun for me to try. I love the croissants here because they are not too flaky yet still buttery and fresh. However, the scone was too dry for my liking, and the toasted brioche was okay. It was a fun breakfast for us with friendly service.Be mindful of the parking as well, because you’ll need to parallel park and pay for the time you’re there. If you’re even a couple of minutes late, you may end up with a ticket, which was a painful experience for us.“

“The best place to have some coffee in the center city, continently located!Service is always great and friendly. There are long lines during rush hours, so plan ahead. It can be super crowded during lunch time as well. Try their strawberry matcha latte (iced or hot) - that’s my favorite there.“

“Went here for the first time yesterday with my friend, and I must say I felt in love! Don't be fooled by the size of the place. It may look a bit small and old, but the menu is wonderful. They have about 100 types of lassi (not just mango lassi), ranging from fruit flavor, veggie to peanut butter. We got a mango - papaya lassi, a rose lassi and a chicken chatt. It's hard to say which one was best, because they all tasted wonderful. extremely aromatic and not too sweet (Yesss!) The owner was really friendly and nice to us. We got overwhelmed by the menu, so we stood there 15mins just to study it. Lol and he just chatted to us the whole time and making great great suggestions! I haven't met such a friendly, sweet and nice owner in a very very long time. And you can tell he's sincerely nice to you. And other customers there were very sweet as well. I can't make enough recommdation about this place! Great food, good price and more than wonderful service. It was my first time there, but won't be the last.“

“I live in South Philly and didn't even know this place existed. A friend told me about it and said it was good so I ordered from GrubHub and mannnn it did NOT disappoint! So much goodness in flavor and portion size. I tried the beef todero and tequeños and both were 10/10. I can't wait to try their arepas! My grandfather immigrated to Venezuela before coming to the US and used to make us some and haven't had any since. Looking forward to trying more.“

“Our experience with the sonho was thoroughly delightful. The sourdough donut provided a perfect base—neither too sweet nor overpowering—which elegantly complemented the richer sweetness of the ganache. The custard center was killer, and its subtlety in sweetness allowed the depth of flavors to shine through without being overshadowed by too much sugar. This careful balance of ingredients made for an exceptional overall flavor profile that we greatly appreciated. We're eager to return and explore more of their offerings!“

“Seriously the best pizza in South Philadelphia. Delicious! I usually order the Grandma pie, which is always so good. Since it was Valentine’s Day we order the heart shaped original pizza and I think I have a new favorite! The crust was thin, crispy and absolutely delicious. “I went for some beans today, having had Passero's coffee at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (in the members lounge) Talking with Jeff, who greeted me as I came in, I came home with the Organic Bali Blue Moon "medium dark" roast. It's a lovely shop, the "organized clutter" of a college store perhaps, instantly welcoming and such a friendly informed person (Jeff) and (the reason I went to the source) exceptional coffee. I have yet to try the beans: that's whats for breakfast tomorrow! New town for me and new connections made!“

“This is a great OG vegan spot in Philly & love coming here. Tons of coffee selections and specials! They have a cold case with a large choice of vegan desserts! They have sitting in the back of the house--some seats and a large book shelf. We love that you can pre order before arriving & it’s ready when you get there. Their breakfast sandwiches are out of this world. This is a hip little vegan cafe. Worth a visit. They have a yummy list to choose from!“

“The food here is incredible - always fresh, delicious and well made. The staff couldn’t be nicer, more attentive, or putting out great orders each time. “Highly highly recommend this Black Owned Business!! You will not be disappointed!!! Best cupcakes I’ve literally ever tasted - which is saying a lot because before Kia’s I did not like cupcakes!!! I’ve tried so many flavors - even flavors I “knew” I wouldn’t like - and I still liked them! It’s wild how good Kia’s cakes are!!! Top favorites of their general cupcakes: Vanilla Oreo, Carrot cake, and Red Velvet! The cupcake specials for the holidays are amazing - and for Black History Month they did punny cupcakes that also told a story of the person that they were honoring - so sweet and important. Other foods that are there like the Iced Pound Cake and the Banana Pudding are equally as amazing as the cupcakes. Recently tried the “Irish Potatoes” which were a special for St. Patrick’s day - they have coconut in them, and I don’t like coconut - but I ate so many of Kia’s Irish Potatoes!! All of this to say - try all the flavors and offerings - it is all so tasty!!!Vegetarian options: They also offer vegan and gluten-free options too!!Dietary restrictions: The team is super mindful of dietary restrictions and honors your requests!Kid-friendliness: Brought our baby in, and the team was so kind to him!“

“What a wonderful hidden gem to get more veggies in your meal!!! We were looking for a healthy food quick service restaurant that could accommodate a vegetarian and this was such a wonderful find. The staff was really helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. There was a great assortment of veggies to put a healthy plate together. I got the lemon chicken za'atar which was so tender and delicious with roasted broccoli and roasted Brussel sprouts and picked onions. There was a little too much tahini on the meal, but it was still wonderful. Because the food was so great, I didn't mark any stars for the heated environment that made it really hot in the restaurant. Given the warm weather in Philly that week, we were hoping for air conditioning but eventually adjusted to the warmer interior.“
“I stopped in the market this past Sunday and I came across this bakery by chance. The display caught my eye and I decided take a look and ended up ordering whoopie pies, lemon bars and butter cake. All three were AMAZING! I will definitely be making this a new stop when I am in the city!!“

“Very boutique. Maybe I was there at an odd hour but there were no basic pastries offered. The options were very intricate and the ingredients were not obvious which made it hard to decide. I could have easily been satisfied with a fresh donut or pound cake. I ended up with a chocolate beignet which was too much chocolate for my preference.“
