“We wanted to try something new in old City. Love the area. There was great smell coming from the place and it drew us in. The food was good and our server was good.“

“Uniquely seasoned food served promptly and pleasantly. Outdoor seating is available in a private booth design that's very 'public' since it's on the sidewalk. The interior design is remincent of authentic Chinese culture with wooden dragons carved in the wall. You can sit at the bar or sit in the main dining area. The culinary delights are streamed, gluten free or lightly fried. The chilli sauce/oil is a nice surprise it's fragrant with a hint of perfume of anise, cardamom and clove, amongst other herbs, all smothered in oils and Sichuan pepper. I highly recommend this spot.“

“Best place ever in Philly for authentic Cambodian food. Mama been cooking forever, please don’t forget to tip them. This truly is a small business that deserves its recognition. Lok lak is YUM (beef salad dish), mi ka thaong (flattened noodles) is one of my go-to’s, their homemade pho is spectacular. Everytime im in south Philly, this stop is a marvel. 💗🪷 love to this store“

“All around my favorite place to go when I am in or even passing by Philadelphia. The food is fresh and authentic. My favorite thing to get is the dim sum and salt and pepper squid/shrimp. The staff and attentive, friendly and and fast. This a great place for a date, solo eating, birthday party for any age. The provide live music some nights.“

“Excellent food, especially if you go early for dim sum, and the staff is polite and efficient. I usually get an order of string beans or whatever green veg I see first, then we pick from the rotating carts. I'ma say yes to everything that has shrimp. Lol. You can request custom orders during sim sum hours, too, FYI.
I've been there at night for traditional ordering, and that was really good, as well, but I like a little bit of everything, so I love dim sum.
Impressive space, too -- The chandeliers always catch my eye. I've seen several large events there, and there's a private dining room as well.“

“They’re offering an all you can eat dim sum special from 11 AM-4 PM for just $16.99 per person, plus $2 for tea. The food is a solid 3.5 out of 5, but the value is unbeatable, five stars for price alone. All you can eat dim sum is a rare find in the city and definitely worth checking out. The taro bun was my favorite.“

“This spot is the place to BE! Here’s a heads up – you won’t be in your seat for long! My friends and I love the vibe, dance (and sing!) like nobody’s business, meet new people, and overall have a great time, every time.
The service is awesome. Staff and management are super friendly, professional, responsive and always encourage us to have a great time.
They have good food, an awesome public lounge that hosts all kinds of events, and many different private rooms to host parties of all sizes. ALSO have a delicious hotpot restaurant next door!!
Definitely worth spending a night out with friends! 💃 🎤 🪩“

“Grabbed some premade banh mi hoagies from the counter because I saw them through the window. They were about $5.50, and average tasting. The bun is soft, and not toasted. They don't put pate spread in them.
Not much else is open this early around here. If you want a quick bite, this place has it.“

“Excellent dinner. Entrees are family style, so for a table of 4, we had one spring roll each, an order of dumplings, dry pot beef, garlic chicken, salt n’ pepper shrimp and Bok Choy with mushrooms. Delicious! Not your ordinary American Chinese food.“

“Great wonton noodle soup house. Quintessential Chinatown experience. Wonton Soup still pre-Covid priced at $7.50/bowl. Extras inflated the cost but brought me back to lunches and its friends and family. Served with hot tea and appetizer plate of roast pork, duck, and crispy pork belly. Fed four of us at $80 with tip. Come in for a regular meal in Chinatown. No fancy experience but good home cooked meal.“

“Good place if you are craving skewers. They have a lot of options. I'd reorder all the skewers I tried except for rice cake and fish tofu. The honey rice cake in appetizer is way too sweet, I'd not recommend. I have mixed feelings about the rice noodle and quail egg under foil grill. It's numbing spicy but the seasoning is okay. The noodles is chewy and quail egg is all right. It has bean sprouts and naba cabbage. I probably won't re-order cuz I would prefer more space for skewers. The restaurant is pretty small.“

“Had a very satisfying meal here. The dumplings were delicious. I tried the boiled and pan-fried dumplings, and I like the boiled ones better. The pan-fried ones looked smaller than in the picture, and the filling was a bit too salty for me. The boiled dumplings were perfect though. The dumpling skin was just the right thickness (not too thick, but also not wonton-wrapper-thin), and the filling was flavorful and juicy. There were probably 1-2 shrimp pieces in each filling.
The scallion pancake was also so good. It was flaky (like a roti) and really not too greasy, which I appreciate because scallion pancakes usually are really greasy. They were very fragrant and just made perfectly.
The beef tendon was also good. It had a good chew, and wasn't cooked down too much, which is how I like it. It was on the saltier side though.
The mushroom meat noodles weren't bad, but probably my least favorite thing out of everything we ordered. Everything else was just really good. The mushroom mix was a bit sour (and not from the picked mustard). The noodles were a bit overcooked and a little bit too thick for my liking. The clear broth it came with was fragrant, light, and comforting though.
Would love to return. Food was delicious and satisfying. Out of everything, my favorites were the boiled dumplings and scallion pancakes. Service was great, and atmosphere was clean and calm (they were playing some jazz music surprisingly). I did find it odd though that the servers rushed to give us the check and made us sign when we were still eating, even though the store was 90% empty (we came in at 11am Saturday). I wasn't sure what that was about, but the service leading to that point had all been fine.“

“My 2nd time at this location. If i rated them the first time they would have gotten 5 stars.. both combined 4 stars would i come back? Maybe. The first time I had their wings I gave chefs kiss. Yesterday not so much, they were hot but not fresh, they tasted like they were sitting under a hot lamp. Second time a little hard and a little dried out. I drove into the City just to come here .. I didn't pre-order. Both times I got fried rice both times the rice was meh.. it's not a traditional fried rice. It's more like a rice medley. The prices are affordable for sure“

“Made reservations at 7pm at loch bar for my sister’s birthday. I got there first and since my sister was a few minutes away, the host couldn’t seat me without her. My sister arrived at 7:05pm and the host informed us that it was busy therefore we would have to wait at the bar until there is a table available. I’m not sure what is the point of a reservation, if you won’t be seated right away. The bartender was really nice and welcoming. 20 minutes later, there was an open table. The appetizers were delicious especially the mussels!!!! The caviar and potato skin were sooo good as well. The oysters were fresh & cold just how I like it. I ordered shots of clase azul for my sister’s bday and we decided to do a bump of caviar & a shot of clase azul. It was a great combo! Thank me later.“
“The halal gyro express cart at the corner of 13th and chestnut is by far the best halal food I’ve ever had. The chicken and rice is out of this world and the white sauce is the best I’ve ever had. Keep up the good work!!!“

“The negatives out of the way:
- The counter person could use some training (I called to place an order and was told to place one onine?)
- If you order the peach wontons, get them without whipped cream...not sure why a takeout place is topping dessert with something that doesn't travel but they were still tasty when soggy.
- Also the crab rangoons are not good. It mostly tasted like old bay mush inside a wrapper.
However, the General Roscoe's chicken, soul and collard green eggrolls, and especially the oxtail lo mein are more than enough to get this to an easy 4 stars.
- I was expecting to see where the line of "east meets west" flavors collide, but the General Roscoe's chicken became something else entirely, in a good way.
- The egg rolls were perfect and the wraps they use are different and have a great texture.
- The Oxtail Lo Mein is the star of the show. Super flavorful and you can really taste how long the oxtail was cooked. This is an immensely rich dish in all the right ways and I will be back with anyone who will listen to me to have it again.“

“Heng Seng serves the best soups for a chilly winter day! The Phnom Penh soup is super flavorful, featuring a variety of proteins like pork and squid. The side of fried dough is fresh and crispy, making for a perfect complement to the soup. Would highly recommend!“

“I was looking for roast crispy duck. I didn't want to go to Chinatown because its gotten rundown, yucky traffic, expensive parking and horrible SEPTA. I decided to stay in my neighborhood so I could walk. I worried about it being expensive. Chestnut Hill is high end and the restaurant looked pricey. What a WONDERFUL SURPRISE! I was a solo table but still treated like a queen with lots of servers checking in, giving water and smiling. The roast duck in black bean sauce on the cast iron plate was SCRUMPTIOUS. It comes with a healthy side of white rice and delicate, flavorful bok choi. The skin was crispy yet NOT oily or greasy. The CHUNKS of tender duck meat were excellent. The sauce was thick, savory and yummy. FOODGASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The portion was so healthy that I was able to take a container home for lunch the next day. Then I ordered the Mudslide ice cream pie for dessert. PERFECTION. Dense, creamy, sweet but not cloying with nut accents, fresh strawberries and cream as garnish. Cool treat on a humid Summer night. When the bill came, I was shocked that it was less than $40. I did not order a cocktail because I wanted to concentrate on the food. I gave them a big tip and said I am absolutely returning. I am also addicted to their spring rolls too. Two perfect crunchy flaky rolls filled with a balanced combination of shrimp, cheese, and cabbage that you can dip in duck sauce or mustard or just enjoy plain.“
