It's really hard to go wrong with this particular Rita's. The employees are friendly, the offerings are tasty, the location is good (not out of the way). My family enjoys it thoroughly.

The water ice here is good. A small is a good size for most people. My brothers got the ice and custard and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you're looking for a causal dessert in the area.

I wasn't planning on doing anything touristy during the two days I was in Philly, but my friends insisted that Rita's Italian Ice was worth a try. They are apparently known for their water ice (Italian ice) and custards that both locals and tourists enjoy. They are known for their gelati, which is custard on top of Italian ice.
