“We’ve been going to Crossroads for years, so this review is definitely overdue. I guess it took us this long to realize we should probably say something!
We don’t consider ourselves regulars at any particular bar. We like to mix things up. But it’s pretty obvious who the Crossroads regulars are — every time we walk in, there are the same familiar faces. At this point, I’m pretty sure some of them have their own parking spaces.
We usually wait until sometime late Friday afternoon to see what the weekend food specials are. That’s often what gets us through the door. That, or we’re in the mood to listen to some live music. Crossroads consistently has live music on Friday and Saturday nights, which is something we really enjoy.
We almost always sit at the bar. We like meeting new people and having conversations, although once the place gets going, it can get pretty loud. Sometimes you’re having a conversation and realize you’ve been smiling and nodding for the last five minutes because you have absolutely no idea what the other person just said. 😂
The bar staff is generally friendly and welcoming. Most days, anyway. But we’re all human, and sometimes you can tell someone is having one of those days where friendliness apparently isn’t on the menu. We get it — we’ve all been there.
The food has always been good for us. One thing we’ve noticed occasionally, though, is that what shows up on the plate doesn’t always seem to include everything listed in the description. Every once in a while, we’ll look at the food and think, “Wasn’t there supposed to be bacon on this?” or “Did the sauce take the night off?” 😂 Nothing major, but if it’s listed in the description, we’d like to see it make an appearance.
The mixed drinks can also be a little weak at times. And by “a little weak,” I mean sometimes you start wondering if the bartender and the drink had a disagreement before it reached the table. Thankfully, they have the staple draft beers to fall back on. The specialty draft selection could use a little work, though.
Overall, we keep coming back, and that probably says more than anything else. Between the food specials, live music, familiar faces, and relaxed bar atmosphere, Crossroads has become one of those places we enjoy stopping into. It’s not perfect, but then again, neither are we — and we’ve been coming back for years, so they must be doing something right.“

Top that with the upper management being supportive and reactive if you need to speak with them and you want to share that with anyone who wants to listen. The leadership addressed an issue with the kind of response that I have not seen in many years. It was refreshing, to say the least. You won't go wrong. “I remember the first time I tried this place and honestly I wasn't exactly impressed but I'm glad I gave them another chance because I've been back a few times since and it just seems to somehow get better every time. The burgers are phenomenal and look like how other places make them look in their advertising. Everything on it was fresh and cooked perfectly. The fries are also that great balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area.“

“My husband & I celebrated our 10th anniversary at Water Wheel Tavern, I had the crab cakes, fantastic! No fillers just crabmeat! My husband had a cheesesteak, he said it was the best cheesesteak he’s ever had! I also had a chocolate martini which was amazing! I recommend this place for great food. “We went there Saturday July 12, 2025 to celebrate my MIL 92nd birthday...we had a wonderful meal and the service from Sadie (and all the staff) was top-notch!! We had my almost 2 year old granddaughter with us and she loved it too!! I would highly recommend going!!“

“We stopped at Penn Taproom during the busy Doylestown car show and had a great experience. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive even with the large crowd. We sat outside and really enjoyed the atmosphere. A great place to grab a meal in Doylestown, we’ll definitely be back!“

“5 in party. Had dinner, ordered sandwiches. Rolls were soft and packed. No major complaints from anyone except little things like ketchup (on the table) was empty, and we waited 25 minutes from order to food delivery. Other customer food seemed generous.
Atmosphere needs a little refresher. Plus pictures on the wall were for sale...that doesn't belong in a restaurant...IMO.“

“For being a bar, it was actually pretty nice for sitting down to eat. The waitress was super friendly and the food was surprisingly good. I got the nachos and and buffalo chicken cheese steak. I'd go there again, especially if I was in the mood to drink too because they had a solid beer selection with a few nicer craft options. I also saw they had a good selection of beer to go which is a bonus.“

He offered me a chilled glass for my beer, a water, popcorn, and took everything out to one of the outside tables. “Dry chicken on my Mediterranean salad which I asked for on the side but was put on top of salad. Hi ken seemed pretty cooked then heated up. Idk. Wife had hard, dry french toast and her bacon was so crispy and hard: hard to eat really.
Coffee took 15 min to get.

Chambers not only accommodated us, but gave prompt service and excellent food - and yes I had a beer (naughty me) from their varied and smartly-chosen offerings, which are the BEST in Doylestown IMO! And of course our superb Server Olivia, who was friendly, super-Professional and attentive! They also feature live music on weekends (in the cozy bar at the front, have a nice dining room, and also an additional bar next door called ‘The Other Side,’ which is accessible from main Restaurant, and is ‘wilder!’ Definitely a great place to visit!“

“We order here often and the staff is fantastic. Today they went above and beyond, we ordered from the website for delivery but our food was never delivered. We called and the staff remade it and we came to pick it up as they were close to closing. We learned that an uber eats driver picked it up and delivered it to the completely wrong house, but the owner and staff were apologetic and made it right, this level of customer service goes above and beyond.“
