“Hemlock House describes itself as serving "irreverent food," and they aren't kidding. I came in expecting a burger, but I stayed for the Frog Legs—the gochujang brown butter buffalo sauce is an absolute game changer. If you are looking for boring bar food, go elsewhere. Here, you have to try the Beef Tartare; the quality of the Snake River Farms beef really shines, and the soy cured yolk adds such a rich texture. For the main event, the Duck Burger is a must-order. The combination of a duck and beef fat patty with luxardo cherries and boursin cheese sounded crazy on paper, but it was incredible. This place is a culinary hidden gem.“

“Had dinner there Saturday first time. Treehugger burger and gearhead burger were very good as were the fries. Had risotto balls for appetizer, terrible. Risotto mushy and flavorless. Chef needs to add chicken stock, heavy cream and parm and not overcook. Coating was good and crisp. Will go back , but try meatballs instead!!“

“We go to this Melting Pot at least four times a year. Each time is a wonderful experience. Today, however, we were beyond blown away by the best service we've ever had. Hanna was our server and she truly is exceptional! She made everything perfect! The food is always tasty and plentiful. In addition, Amanda, the manager is phenomenal! I still can't figure out how she remembers us each time we come to dine. This is a testament to her customer service skills and professionalism. “My family and I came here for Sunday brunch as a birthday celebration. We arrived as a party of 6 with no reservation. I told them that I understood if they couldn’t seat us. We had planned to go somewhere else to eat, but last minute I seen a TikTok video giving good reviews and decided to try Abode. They graciously accommodated us. The service was amazing, the aesthetic hit all the vibes, and yes the food was amazing! We all ordered something different so I had the opportunity to at least taste test a decent portion of the menu (yes I took forkfuls from everyone’s plates lol) It wasn’t until a week later that I went to use the same credit card that I used to pay for our meals. I realized I didn’t have it in my wallet and remembered that Abode was the last place I used it. I called the restaurant and they still had my card. Besides all of the amazing food and beautiful interior, there are wonderful people working there who are obviously full of integrity! Highly recommended!“

“First time here with my boyfriend and it was an amazing experience. MO was our server and her energy and personality was awesome. As a fellow bartender she was one of the best. Remembered both of our names and was so attentive. They had a hotdog special for the 4th of July which was so good. I can’t wait to come back and see what is on their menu next time.“

“This bar slaps. The bartenders are all super chill and knowledgeable. The menu is super interesting, with balanced and unexpected cocktails that are truly impressive. You can tell the drinks have a lot of love for the craft behind their recipes. Can get a little crowded/loud on busy nights but still worth it. 10/10 would recommend sitting at the bar with a couple friends and trying as much on the menu as you can.“

“My son and I had dinner for Mother’s Day. Our first experience at this restaurant. Aside from a small miscommunication where the side dishes were delivered to the table alongside the apps, everything was very good. They corrected the sides and delivered fresh with the entrees, the sides were easily large enough to share amongst three or four people and the food was very good. The app, sides and entrees, as well as the gluten free chocolate cake were all delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to return.“

“Tricky to get in for brunch but the decor was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly. The menu was creative and very tasty. Would happily come here again. The pancakes in particular were good and I'm not normally a fan of pancakes over waffles, whereas here I would prefer the pancakes over the waffles.“

“We had täkō last night in Pittsburgh for the first time and it was SO GOOD! They had their Spookeasy pop up Halloween bar and the set up was so cool, it was pretty packed with it being Halloween weekend but it was such a cool atmosphere! We ended up getting seats at the bar and the two bartenders were so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with deciding what drinks we wanted to try! The tacos.....the octopus is the BEST, chorizo was second best for me. Pictures aren't the greatest, but it's the best I got. Definitely a great time if you're feeling fancy 🍶 It's not cheap, but I'd say definitely worth it for the food, drinks, staff and just the atmosphere of it all.“

“It's a varied menu. But I felt that the steak prices were out of this world for 1 steak for 1 person at fifty dollars a shot. I didn't order the steak , but the salmon was very good and so was the apricot chicken salads are fantastic. It's a little pricey , but I felt I got the right dinner for myself and my friend“

Every dish was full of flavor and the textures were all beautifully done. Even the bread basket was amazing with maple butter. It felt like a 5 star dining experience for a reasonable person. “I am a foodie for sure and this experience was a flavor explosion!! The beets were a texture fantasy with a crunch and sweet savory home run. And the Striploin?!!!!! Filet tenderness with a better than NY strip flavor (how is it possible?). Second only to my NYC Wagyu A5 favorite. I was a little hesitant when I first saw the menu, but nothing disappointed at all! Would definitely recommend and return with friends for that steak!!! Chef Dave is a Master of flavors. Shame on me for reviewing before dessert. COME FOR THE DESSERT!! SMH. Creativity of the highest order. I can see why this place is packed tonight. Bring a date, bring your family, impress a client. You will not regret it. And ask for Crystal! “This is a great place for ice cream. It’s right across the street from Renzie Park. Nice place to stop after a walk , a ball game or one of the Sunday night concerts in the summer.They also have a small convenience store.
They have a variety of treats on their menu, soft serve, sundaes, milkshakes and Perry’s ice cream. They also serve hot food , burgers,Nathan‘s hotdogs.
The owner and the staff are always friendly and glad to see you. It’s definitely a place we stop at often through the summer.“

“My wife & I go to dinner with a few other couples once a month. We go down the alphabet & go to non chain restaurants. We picked Meat & Potatoes for M. This was all of our first time at the restaurant. We were seated in the side 1 table room, the service was great, it was like our own little space. My wife & I got the 2 Tomahawk steaks, bone marrow, asparagus, & shoestring fries. Everything was amazing, we all got different starters to share. We got the pig candy, all starters were great! There was not one complaint from the table, we will definitely be back. I have known the owner for a very long time, & been to his other places & been just as satisfied. “Service was excellent. Top notch. What I didn't understand was why we were sat next to the window with fake bushes blocking our view of the rest of the restaurant. The place was empty. Every single table inside the rows of hedges was unoccupied when we got there. Maybe 2 or 3 tables were sat during our dinner but I truly didn't understand seating us in the corner, right next to the door, blocked by this greenery. It just felt weird. Also the olive oil cake was terrible. Dry, salty. Not good at all. The rest was good. We got 4 dishes and shared them. Maybe ordered 4 drinks. Bill was $250. Not terrible but also not big portions cause they were all shareable small plates. Like there were 4 of us, we got the scallop special, and they gave us 3 scallops. Just give us a 4th scallop so we each get one! If you wanna upcharge for it fine, but like why give 3 scallops to a table of 4 when they know we're sharing everyhing. We made that clear. And yeah that cake sucked. Don't get it. I don't need to go back here. Mostly cause I dislike supporting DeSchantz. So take that as you will.“
