“This cozy restaurant was really varied in its menu and sides choices. Our Server was helpful with the menu and answering questions about how the entrees/meals were served. There were almost 20 of us and Shelby did an excellent job of keeping track of everyone's orders and requests. She checked on us frequently and made sure we had what we wanted. The pies were outstanding as well. I would recommend this place. Good food, reasonable prices, great service! Gift Shop was nice too!Wheelchair accessibility: No issues for our family member. Very welcoming.“

“This is a nice little restaurant in the middle of Hollidaysburg, PA. A clean restaurant with a great ambiance. Service is incredible during a time where most places can't find people to work. Food is good old fashion cooking. Generous portions at an expected price. Oh, and the bakery!!! We will be back!!!“

“I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. I had the chicken Parmesan and the crab rangoon pizza. The chicken Parmesan was very good and the chicken was nice and crispy. The pizza was good and the crust was crunchy and had a nice char. The pizza can get to be a little too much as there are a lot of competing flavors. I would recommend both dishes still.“

“Such a great, local place for breakfast, lunch, or just really good coffee. Their food is freshly made (and the bread is incredible, especially the English muffin bread), and the people working there couldn't possibly be nicer. I also have no idea where they get their decaf roast, but it's so, so good. And I hate decaf! This is our favorite hometown eatery, and we come as often as we can.Parking: Parking can be hard to find in the main road, so definitely check out the side-streets! Bring quarters for the meter!Kid-friendliness: Love bringing our daughter here on school breaks and weekends, she likes this place as much as we do and she's 10.“

“Stopped in here last Sunday afternoon for my birthday. Employees were friendly, specifically the woman who was a shift manager or supervisor taking the orders. Shout out to her for doing a tremendous job! The Texas Hot Dog and fries were delicious, fresh and hot. It’s nice to know there is still decent customer service out there. My only gripe was that the ordering system seemed disorganized, which you aren’t really sure who has already ordered or has been waiting in line. In their defense, it’s not just Texas Hot Dogs with that issue. Other than that, it was a very good experience.“

“Fantastic find, not planned. Great little, very old pub with really good food & vibe. Best of all, it still has a "spitton trough" at the base of the bar. Common in late 1800s, this is one of five still existent in the US. It's the only one with still functioning water flow, which the bartender demo'd.“

“Food is great, prices are lowest around . Service is good not the greatest, not rude just slow..only 2 very elderly women servers in morning. Little slow greeting table then they seem to forget they did..other than that very nice place to eat..I do go there a couple times a week“

“I live about an hour away from the Altoona, PA Cracker Barrel. I had an eye doctor appointment in Altoona on Wednesday. After my eye exam, I realized it was Wednesday. Since my favoritemeal, Brocolli Cheddar Chicken, is only served on Wednesdays, I phoned in an order and picked it up in-store. It wasn't until I got home that I realized they gave me Chicken and Dumplings instead of the Brocolli Cheddar Chicken I ordered. I wish I would have checked the bag before I drove all the way home.“

“This is our first experience and we were so pleased with first the cleanliness we noticed as we entered. Then the server was so friendly and welcoming. When she told us the price I said what? Because it was so reasonable. Then the arrival of huge portions snd finally a good bye from the staff as we were leaving. In the picture we had already began eating. By the way…the French fries are delicious“
“Overall, a great Altoona bar for mixed drinks, shots and bar food - clean bar top and attentive bartenders. If you don’t smoke this is not the bar for you. There’s a bar, the next door over that’s owned by the same owners that’s a great non-smoking option (Zach’s). Regardless of which, if a PA team is playing they’re showing it on several television angles within the bar. There’s an ATM, cash only cigarette machine, and several lottery machines at your disposal.“

“I'd like to give this place a 4.5 ⭐Service was great. I can't recall the waiter's name but he was great! I've had some great steaks and some just ok steaks, but the food on average has been pretty good. The brussel sprouts are amazing.“

“I was traveling to Altoona on a week night and in the mood for something better than the chain options. I saw Champs and gave it a try. So glad I did! Sitting at the bar, I had a beer (Great local IPA) and checked out the menu. The Delmonico Ribeye jumped out at me, and I placed my order Medium Rare. My expectations were not overly high, but this steak exceeded my expectations. Mated with a side Ceaser and accompanied by vegetable skewers, it was perfect size and taste. I would surely come back again.“

“My family recently got to visit Jethro's and I wish I could give more stars for the service the food and the atmosphere!!! We stayed at a hotel in Altoona for Comic-Con convention in hidden valley. We are looking forward to Altoona's Comic-Con ,so we can have the opportunity to go back to Jethro's and enjoy another evening of great food and awesome service!!!“
“I've been to Tavern 27 multiple times and have always found them to have good service and good food. Before the Pandemic they used to have a fantastic New Years Eve buffet that was always packed and a favorite of everyone in our group. Unfortunately they have yet to resume that practice post pandemic. Regardless the food for the most part was always been great. I've had both lunch and dinner there and have found little if anything I could consider wrong with our overall experience. I do note that the restaurant clientele has been sparse at dinner the last few times I have been there but that may be a consequence of the seasonal nature of the club and golf course. It has had no effect on the food or the evening. I do wish however that they would bring back their holiday buffet as it was one of the nicest evenings out around. All in all I'd definitely recommend an evening at Tavern 27.“

“Excellent food every time. I talk about this place daily. Love the fact that they have food specials that change daily. It is definitely worth the time to check out. This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it is quite the gem. Always friendly and the food great.“

“Everything was delicious and overall a good experience. The only reason I gave 2 stars for service was because of the manager. He accommodated our larger group of 11 and was super professional and kind. The servers that brought our food out were great HOWEVER our main server was absolutely awful. He was rude, impatient, and scatterbrained. I know people have bad days but we started off very understanding and he only got worse. We all still tipped 15% out of common decency but he didn’t deserve it at all. Recommend the restaurant itself, though.Kid-friendliness: We asked to reserve a separate table for our 11 & 13 year old that was close by but made them feel grown up & they not only accommodated it, they made them feel so great.“

“The service here is usually really great! Our last servers name was Elliot (I think lol) he was on point! U know ..u get seated, u get ur silverware wrapped in a napkin and the menu..then he says anything else? as he is laying EXTRA NAPKINS on the table!! Idk...I really appreciate that. 99% of the time I get the Choconana Pancake Slam(2 eggs, 2 bacon or 2 sausage or 1 of each, hash browns and 2of the most mouthwatering CHCONANNA Pancakes!) my boyfriend usually gets the Crepes Slam! He loves them yummy! We go Wed or Fri evening and it is usually pretty quiet and no wait! Ohhh! Their ice water w/lemon is the BEST in town, no joke!“

“You know you’re getting GREAT food when you see that red and white checkered paper! It’s been a few years since I last ate at Spring House Grille in Roaring Spring, PA, so I decided to pay a visit today. I am SO glad I did! Especially since they went from making decent food to making Excellent food that filled me right up!The meal I had today was the 4 piece fried chicken with “steak” fries and green beans!Oh man! The meat was so tender and loaded with flavor, the steak fries were cooked to golden yellow perfection and the green beans were fresh, juicy, and surprisingly vibrant! I was quite impressed with both the aesthetic and quality! The staff was wonderful and very accommodating during our visit, and the atmosphere was very roomy, inviting and warm. I especially liked the aquarium in the middle of the dining room, the wood siding on one of the walls that made me feel like I was on a boat, and the rotating glass dessert table!Overall, Spring House Grille has REALLY stepped their game up since my last visit, and I DEFINITELY recommend it if you’re visiting the Roaring Spring area! The only negative thing I can say about it is they close at 4:00 pm. Otherwise, It’s a superb local eatery!“
