“This place was a great addition to our Hollidaysburg pub tour. We had a really nice server, and a joyful evening. The prices were good. Beer selection was average for this area. we may go back in the future.Parking: It was GREAT and plentiful.“
“This is a little family restaurant. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Our waitress was so pleasant. She got our drinks and remembered my lemons for my water. My daughter and I both ordered the hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes. Oh my gosh! It was delicious. Definitely home made. I ended up taking half home with me. We also got dessert to go. She got the apple dumpling and I got the carrot cake. They were spot on. Definitely worth stopping to check it out. You won't be disappointed.Parking: Didn't have any issues with finding a parking spot.“
“This little shack on the beach is a very pleasant surprise!! The people are friendly, the menu extensive, reasonable prices, great portion and quick service!! What more could one ask! You can sit by the lake and eat picnic style! We ordered the fried veggie sampler and chicken tender and fries combo. It was freshly made to order and delish!!“
“My fries were a tad salty but my Turkey wrap was excellent. My husband had the fish and chips and he said they were good. They only had Woodbridge wines by the glass. There was an event going on in their event hall and the restaurant was really busy and seemed short on wait staff.Parking: Busy night short on parking.“
“First time at Traditions. Was the very best. Food is outstanding. Service was the best I've had in quite a while. Very friendly atmosphere, quaint. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. If you haven't been here, you need to go. You will not be disappointed.“
“Fred and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Don’t t let the fact that the restaurant shares space with the convenience store deter you. They keep it very clean - we actually overheard Fred, training a new staff member, and insisting on the very high standards for cleanliness and quality he expects. The food is great and the price is reasonable! I highly recommend this shop for flatbreads and pizza.“
“Really nice place!!! Great service as well, super nice waitress, and overall good vibe. I’m not from this area and was recommended this place for a quick (and delicious) bite to eat. For sure give this place a try if you’re in the area!“
“I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. I had the chicken Parmesan and the crab rangoon pizza. The chicken Parmesan was very good and the chicken was nice and crispy. The pizza was good and the crust was crunchy and had a nice char. The pizza can get to be a little too much as there are a lot of competing flavors. I would recommend both dishes still.“
“It's exactly what you would expect from a Texas hot dog which is not anything bad. The service was fast and the ladies working were very nice and personable. The food was good and fresh so I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick bite.“
“Stopped after my mom had a procedure done at the hospital. Hit the tail end of lunch rush, so we had to wait just a bit. Food was well worth the wait! Delicious, large portion sizes, excellent value. Anytime we venture to Altoona, we will be stopping at Tim's!“
“Food is good. Service is excellent. Upper scale restaurant for those willing to spend or having a special occasion that you want to celebrate. Remind me of Steven's Steak & Seafood House in City of Commerce in California where I used to go to the monthly IAPMO meeting there.“
“I have loved this place from childhood to currently and will continue to be a loyal patron of this food service establishment. It is split into two parts, a bar on the left side and a sit-down area to the right, is connected by a small, thin corridor, if you will. The food is outta this world, I highly suggest any wing flavor and the ranch seasoned fries. Service was found to be somewhat slow as the only complaint I had was my drink wasn't kept full but that's okay, there's worse things however I do gauge my tips based strongly upon keeping beverages filled. Other than that, great atmosphere and often see others I know while there, thus making for an overall great experience.Parking: Parking lot is located directly across the street from Al's entrance. Free parking and very rarely struggle to find parking, maybe once in 25 years.Kid-friendliness: I went here as a kid and it's pretty much the same and I have nothing but the best memories of Al's and the family visits for dinner. Also, kid-food is available.Wheelchair accessibility: Don't quote me but I do believe this restaurant/bar is handicapped accessible.“
“Within the last few months my girlfriend and I decided to try something different during our weekly Altoona trips so we tried this Perkins location out for the first time. We had a waitress named Elizabeth, she was fantastic to us! A few weeks later we give it another shot hoping that she was working and she was! Again, FANTASTIC! We go again last night but didn’t get her this time but she still made it a point to come over and interact with us and check in on us. Overall we have a great time when we come here and will continue to come back!“
“First time there yesterday for lunch. We sat at the bar and ordered the NY hot (hot garlic) wings, steak salad and fish sandwich. EVERYTHING was great! The steak on the salad was crazy good, alongside the "merva" dressing (balsamic). Very attentive, friendly bartender. Place overall was very cool. Our only complaint is shame on us for just discovering this place!“
“Absolutely amazing place for food, drinks, and entertainment. The owner is a great guy along with the entire staff, and it's a great place for music, trivia, and once in a while a small stage production. I highly recommend the Hot Club sandwich, it's my favorite!Parking: There's a bunch of parking next to the building, on a standard night there's no issue finding parking, on an event night when a band is playing you may have to resort to street parking but there's plenty all around the block, just don't park at the hobby place across the street, he'll tow you...“
“Food is great, prices are lowest around . Service is good not the greatest, not rude just slow..only 2 very elderly women servers in morning. Little slow greeting table then they seem to forget they did..other than that very nice place to eat..I do go there a couple times a week“
“My son and I went here for a late night dinner on a Friday. Dj had the music a lil loud for the crowd that was there but we did not mind bc the music selection was on point. Service staff was friendly and quick w drink refills . Food was very good and came out in a timely manner.Parking: Plenty of parking available. Lot is huge and is shared w walmart.Kid-friendliness: Kids size meal options available. They have lil games kids can play as wellWheelchair accessibility: Self explanatory“
“Local "Dive Bar". Decent food. Most bartenders are great. The atmosphere depends on the day. Located near PSU Altoona campus so the students do frequent some nights. Most of the time, it's relatively chill, but there are some nights where there are nights and people getting rowdy. Usually on Karaoke nights from what I've picked up. They have trivia and bingo during the week, which I'd do again. Overall, not a terrible experience, but certainly room for improvement.“
“Stayed the night at the hotel that the Grouse nest is in. Sat at the bar and had a Greek salad with salmon and a glass of wine. The bartender was great and the service as well. My check was $20The background music was great too.I’d go there again if I’m in the area.“
“Pizza steak is the best around but the house cut fries with gravy are the best! There's a reason they've been around forever and a day.. don't miss out on this very fine establishment.Parking: Plenty of free parking in the front lot.“
“Molly’s is the Best! Have been to this neighborhood bar since I was three, and that was 69 years ago! Great family bar back in the day! What Molly’s have…are my young-time friends from years ago, personalities that are off the chart, and Denny has been so great in helping a neighbor out during the winter months! Best people ever, they care about everyone, and it shows! I’ve missed them for a few weeks, but will see them soon. Michelle, Denny, and the others, are super at providing the best service ever. Someone mentioned a bar like “Cheers!” It was 69 years ago, and throughout the years, and it still is today! Great place to feel safe! You will meet the greatest people at Molly’s! ??“
“Such a great, local place for breakfast, lunch, or just really good coffee. Their food is freshly made (and the bread is incredible, especially the English muffin bread), and the people working there couldn't possibly be nicer. I also have no idea where they get their decaf roast, but it's so, so good. And I hate decaf! This is our favorite hometown eatery, and we come as often as we can.Parking: Parking can be hard to find in the main road, so definitely check out the side-streets! Bring quarters for the meter!Kid-friendliness: Love bringing our daughter here on school breaks and weekends, she likes this place as much as we do and she's 10.“
