“Neighborhood Pub We end up here time & time again even though we don't live in the neighborhood. It's a great spot to beat the summer heat or cozy up on a cold, rainy Pittsburgh evening to enjoy your friends' company, a game on tv (they have the ticket & offer football specials), or chat with the friendly bartenders. It's so cozy & comfortable. This adorable Irish pub is one of our favorites in Pittsburgh because it not only offers a great Guinness or Black & Tan for my husband to enjoy, they also have a great cocktail menu including their classics and seasonal features! Recently I've even had some great Mocktails here. COCKTAILS Scarlet Coat: paddy's Irish whiskey, angostura bitters, orgeat, lemon, aquafaba foam - a bitter vegan riff on a whiskey sour Irish Serpent: reposado tequila, st. germain elderflower liqueur, yellow chartreuse, orange bitters, lemon twist - unique & tasty Red & Green Mojito: mint, lime juice, strawberry purée, sugar, rum, club - tastes like summer! MOCKTAILS Peach Cobbler Marg (w/ zero proof tequila) - not only beautiful, but also delish. Great flavors for fall. Maple Whiskey Sour (w/ zero proof bourbon) - the faux bourbon flavor was just a tad too smoky for me, but this would be so good with real whiskey We always have a great time here. It's super relaxed with chill staff & is a great place to escape your worries after a long day or even to kick off the weekend! Check them out in the Lawrenceville neighborhood if you're looking for a pub in Pittsburgh.“

“The Bulldog is an all around lovely experience. The food- absolte 10/10. Staff 10/10. Drinks 10/10. I'd like to keep this a secret but it's too good to not share. Not to mention, the owner is a gem and deserves every bit of the business.“

I had a full rack of ribs, with the hash brown potatoes, the salad was fresh with beets, black olives, cukes, tomatoes, and the home made Rasberry Dressing was like (wow i want to take a gallon home)“

“We stopped for dinner 430ish on a Friday, the place was very clean and friendly. The menu was a specialized menu with a bunch of customer recommended #1s, it was very hard to choose what meals we would be selecting off the menu due to the whole menu was packed with excellent dinner choices. I settled for the Meatloaf special off the house special board (Amazing), and my wife chose the Chicken Picata (Amazing), these are two of most recommended dinner choices by the house and a few friends of ours. We both ordered the House Merlot with dinner which was a good choice on our part (perfect) along with the wine the house places a large flip top bottle of ice cold water on your table for you to drink at your will. Paired with our meals were a side of mashed potatoes and cooked carrots with a side salad (all were perfect). If all of this amazing meal wasn't enough, we had to order the Zattola homemade ice cream over the house made brownie for dessert... everything was way to good to not finish... We left this place absolutely stuffed, and pleasantly pleased with our experience... one side note I would have to say if you chose to go there, please have a conversation with your servers and staff, we spoke to an older gentlemen who I still don't believe he is in his 70s, he was one the most kind, and personable staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant, he made us feel like family and like he knew us for ever, he stated how the food is prepared and the history of the recipes, you could tell he absolutely loves this place along with the owners and he firmly believes in the quality this place provides. The food was definitely enough for us to go back, but just having the small interactions with the gentleman makes me feel that we will absolutely go back... Im sure anyone who has been to this place and has interacted with this gentlemen could probably attest to what I'm saying, as he spoke to everyone... the world needs more people like him in it!!! Well done Zattolas well done!!!“

“They close the bar randomly constantly without any regard to customers. I found this place while dogsitting out this way, but I wasted my time coming back out to a locked bar during regular hours (before 9 actually) again and again. The last time, I'd even been there the day before (after being out of town a few months and trying to give them another chance) and there were no notices about closing early the following day. I drove back out to a locked door again with people just hanging out in the bar, pretending that I wasn't there. It's frustrating and embarrassing, trying to open a locked door, and knowing all those people know you are there but just don't care. I try to support small businesses and recommended this spot to a bunch of friends. I even added their first pictures to google, the menu, and even changed their hours for them on Google to prevent this from happening to others, but it continues to happen. **If you're driving a half hour outta town, go to Wings Suds and Spuds out in Moon. They are also family owned, have the best wings I've found around Pittsburgh, and are respectful of their customers.“

“This is Highland Park's only remaining bar, with Sports TVs. I hope the local beer drinking, sports watching public keeps this East End Institution in businessParking: If you are willing to walk, within 2 blocks you will find a spot. Don't Block Driveways!“

“Very good food. A better takeout wing place than eat-in. Beverages are mostly bottled out of the cooler, like you'd see at a convenience store. Had the wings. They were excellent. Fries are fresh cut. You can see them putting the potatoes through the cutter.“

“Came in for lunch. 10 out of 10. We had wings which were jumbo, fresh, delish, and a great price. We had the cheese fries which reminded us of Kennywoods potato patch. We got an Italian hoagie and was super fresh veggies and bread. Good portions and great prices. Staff was friendly and nice. Will return again for sure soon.“

“Came for lunch on St. Patrick’s Day. It was a little busy but we were able to get a table. They had a lot of holiday specials available, but I went with the burger which is always good. Food is consistently decent and affordable. Great little place to stop for a drink and a bite in Bloomfield.“
“In there for the first time on Karaoke night. The best atmosphere in the area. Very diverse and everyone was there to socialize and have a good time. Will definitely be returning sooner than later. Service fast and friendly, no cranky people working there. Ice Tea was phenomenal.“

“Neighborhood bar. Food was decent, pretty basic, but good. The server, Susan, was fantastic! The bar itself is nice, as I loved the old time pictures of Aspenwall. The fried Zucchini was excellent, and the tavern burger was good. The Reuben was mediocre.“

“Popped into Brillobox for a a nightcap after a work event. I was delighted to see a diverse range of drafts and good representation of vegan food on the menu. The bartender checked in often. I need to come back when I'm hungry so I can try some of their vegan fare.“

“We've been going here for years. A few takeaways:Would love to see establishment be in a larger place. Many times we have to go somewhere else when no seating is available. The interior could use a bit of a refresh, it's dark. Most folks that I have brought here and myself think the high top tables are toooo high. They are not at a comfortable arm height. The menu could use a refresh. It has been the same for years. Some healthier options would be nice for summer. We do patronize here often, hubby likes the wing night! Prices are somewhat reasonable. Food is always pretty good. Nice local establishment.“
“I ate before arriving, so I didn’t have any of the food. But the kitchen was pumping out orders the entire time I was there. Drinks were generous with alcohol. Bartender was nice. Atmosphere was light, like I came with one friend felt like I knew everyone else I encountered. Good music choices were made on the jukebox. I enjoyed myself.“

“One of the best eateries in Pittsburgh, a must-see and eat location. It’s pricey but the food is amazing and the setting is absolutely incredible. Wheelchair accessible ramp to get into the building, quick seating, and our waiter was spectacular at recommending dishes to us. Definitely check out the meteorite, too, up by the restrooms.Vegetarian options: Few but goodKid-friendliness: Not the best for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Actually very accessible“

“Best wings place in the area, bar none. The original wings are awesome, but I also like Jamaican jerk. Big meaty juicy wings with the best seasoning. Everyone knows Burrell Inn is the best. It's connected to a bar so you get some cigarette smell, but still worth it.This last time we ate outside in the little courtyard. It's cozy out there and fun. Plus you avoid the bar smoke. If you're looking for the best chicken wings, look no farther. You won't leave hungry.“

“I have eaten at Mike's about 10 times since moving here a couple of months ago. It is definately a neighborhood bar. They have the best cheese burger and made from scratch fries that I have found so here so far. The beer has been cold every time and the food and drinks prices are decent. The bartenders are friendly. It is a non smoking bar with an outside deck. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a neighborhood place to eat, drink and watch the game.“

“A very friendly and efficient young lady named Tia was our server. She was definitely on point and smelled lovely. Our meals were all served quickly and everything was fresh and delicious.I always like to order a wing or two with no matter what I order. My only issue was that we were seated near the door and it was very cold; I will return and request another area. All in all still an awesome evening.“

“The food was excellent! The lady who took the order and the one who helped her bring it out was amazing. Can't say much for the atmosphere since we were only picking up but it seemed pretty neat in there. Wouldn't mind visiting when the bar is hoping!“

“The food was very good and overall the serve e was very good as well. I had the Italian Chicken sandwich special which was very good, the fries were a little disappointing as they were unseasoned, and clearly got a plate full of overcooked bottom of the bag fries. I also got the French Onion soup which I was told they might not have but they did and honestly it was quite disappointing also. My work partner who I was with had the Pittsburgh salad which he liked and the stuffed banana peppers which were excellent according to him. For a Monday early evening of football season the place was reasonably busy and well staffed. The only downside was that there was a customer who clearly had a few drinks and had a problem with some other customers who left and sat at the bar dropping f bombs and other very harsh cuss words and the bar tender kind of seemed to be entertaining him and laughing. I’m not sure if she was just trying to diffuse the situation or what but thankfully he left within 15-20 minutes. I’m only in town for one night every quarter for work and with lots of small mom and pop local spots to try I likely won’t be back here but it is good to know that there is a decent place not far from my hotel that doesn’t have a chain name attached to it. I live in a small town and love supporting small town businesses as often as I can.“

“New Am is a great spot for dancing on a night out! The music is loud (except for when the DJ would turn it down any time a girl tried to talk to him lol) & the floor is sticky, but if you don't mind the frat house vibe the dancing is super fun! They serve a good selection of beer, and they have good canned options as well which is easier for dancing. The bartenders are quick and friendly. Fun spot to end a night! “Food is good but the service was amazing. Wings up good and the price is what you would expect nowadays. Our toddler was toddlering and our server was so sweet and patient as we had to keep taking him outside to recalibrate. Kid friendly and good sports bar food.“

“Atmosphere and service were fantastic. The food was hit or miss. I had the black and blue shrimp and the wings. The shrimp were fantastic. I'd easily come back just for those. The wings were huge, juicy and well fried but they lacked seasoning. Once I asked for old bay and hot sauce they were much better.“

“As a Pittsburgh native that moved away Primanti's is a must stop on trips home. I love Primanti's! I still don't think the other location are as good as the Strip and South Side locations. This was my first visit to this location. It felt overly crowded, congested and loud for me.“

“Great neighborhood gem here. If you have a hankering for a Pittsburgh style fish sandwich, this is the place to visit if you pass by.Friendly folks, warm atmosphere, and great beers and outstanding fish sandwiches.Ordered two fish sandwiches three quarters pound of fish on each sandwich(you will not be hungry after eating those of these) and there’s definitely enough left over for a third. Served steaming hot, crisp batter, and tender fish on a fresh hoagie bun. Tartar sauce was very tasty as well - with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and yes a strong dash of hot sauce. Definitely got my fried fish fix (5 out of 5). If were to provide any critique maybe the bun could have been toasted a bit more to hold up to the condiments - however, while a bit challenging to manage eating like a sandwich, entire time I was eating the sandwich I had a big smile on my face. Will be back again for the fish!!! …. And maybe the sample a few other things. ( the pictures do not accurately capture the size and make it look a bit smaller that it actually is )Outstanding beer selection, see picture for the entire menu - I sampled the Troeg’s Grand Cacao Stout and was happy I did.Highly recommend this place. If you are passing by this neighborhood definitely check it out.“
