“First time visiting. Definitely worth the drive from Pittsburgh. Easily accessible, convenient parking. Party of two, dined inside. Enjoyed appetizers, entree and dessert. Food was delicious, and excellent - PERSONAL - service. Our waitress was Janet, and she was absolutely wonderful. Ended up striking conversation with her and another couple. Will definitely be returning!“

“It's a bar. Let's be real. You don't go here for the food. You're probably there to drink. That's fine. I was there to meet a few people for business..but wanted something to occupy my time. I happened to be there on a Monday evening. $8 burger night..with fries. You can't go wrong with an $8 burger. I opted for upgraded waffle fries...they were your standard burger and fries..not the best burger, let's be real..but it was good. Plenty of TVs to watch. Local fare, local people. Probably pretty busy on a weekend. If your in thr area..stop in. You won't be disappointed at all.“

“We've ordered quite a few meals from Burnie's via door dash and they were all absolutely amazing. The catfish has a really nice breading and is perfectly cooked, the wings are delicious, salmon cooked perfectly, the pastas have been really good too. We love their mac and cheese along with the greens, so much that I've actually put in a catering size order for the mac and will order more catering sizes in the future from them. This place does not disappoint, it's a definite taste bud pleaser!“

He patiently waited for us to decide on our drink order and went as far as to let us try the drink to see if we liked it, which we didn’t but he took it off our bill and then brought us a birthday card and wished us a happy birthday. The food was very delicious. But our main complaint comes down to Adam !! He was so fantastic and such a kind person . They truly have a rare gem in him as an employee! I hope they appreciate him because he is what makes it a truly wonderful experience there. We will definitely go back there and if we are lucky Adam will be our server.!!!“

“My family and I accidentally stumbled across this place, (I haven't been to this building/restaurant since 2012 when it was under a different establishment and last I knew nothing was reopened) and this family of new owners was very ATTENTIVE, PROFESSIONAL AND just made us feel WELCOMED from the start. The owners were AMAZING, gave us a background of their business and their children were EXCEPTIONALLY polite, and KNEW how to work as a team! The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting and the food was entirely homemade and FABULOUS. (My family is Italian so saying that should be enough ?) I'm definitely going back and possibly helping with the community activities planned! Coming from a City of Pittsburgh resident of 10 years, Thank you for a wonderful early afternoon!“

“We decided on a Tuesday that we wanted to dine here the next day and were concerned that we didn't yet have a reservation. We were not able to make one online for 5 people. The next day, we were able to call in the early afternoon and speak to someone to make a reservation. We were so glad we did since the place became full not long after we arrived! Our hostess, servers, and all employees were wonderful, all 5 of our entrees were fabulous, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here!“

“I do love a good diner and this is very certainly one of them. When the food brings you back to your childhood memories — that’s culinary art at its finest.

Absolute gem of a place, lovely staff, and friendly diners around you. The food is unpretentious, simple, fresh, and perfect. Gave me comfort I really needed.

I had to walk to a gas station to an ATM to get the cash. Besides that, the people that work in this place they are very polite and nice, they offer me coffee, and greet me properly. “I've been ordering from Big Shot Bob's in Avalon for over ten years. They're the best in the Burgh. They opened on New Year's Day to provide fresh delicious wings. Pre-ordering wings for New Year's Day was a breeze and the service is very friendly. I was able to call and make a change to a pick up order with ease.

“Finally getting to writing reviews for the best few vendors from my August 2019 wedding. I am a little hesitant to post this since their Facebook page seems to have gone silent and reviews on other platforms indicate that management and menus may have changed in the last 6 months. But I was so pleased with my experience that it only seems fair to give credit where credit is due…. If you are looking for a rehearsal dinner location in Cranberry and have 30 guests or less, I highly recommend the private room at Ember and Vine in the lobby of the DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Cranberry. We researched every restaurant in the area and Ember and Vine at DoubleTree delivered a perfect solution. Their facilities are beautiful and modern, and the staff was so nice and accommodating. Although they can do traditional seated banquet-style meals, we wanted something distinctly different from our wedding dinner the following day. We chose to order off their regular restaurant menu and have them cordon off a portion of the lobby area next to the private room, where a buffet was placed with different flavors of wings, woodfired pizzas, salad, and their oh-so-yummy crispy brussels sprouts. Not only were they flexible with the setup and menu (accommodating multiple food allergies), they also provided the option to have a limited bar within the private room or have our guests use the full bar in the lobby. Having the private room but also the cordoned off lobby area gave us extra area to mingle and a great balance between private space and the fun energy and ambiance from the restaurant and bar. Our guests loved the food and had loads of fun! Other factors that made Ember and Vine a clear winner for us were: - They had a very low minimum spend. Other locations with private dining had a ridiculous minimum spend that would be difficult to meet with a 20-30 person guest list. - The large parking lot. We looked at other options closer to our venue and parking was limited. - Flexibility with timing. We gave them a general time frame for arrival, but not knowing how long the rehearsal would take, they told us just to call them when we were 20 minutes out. Thanks DoubleTree and Ember and Vine for a classy venue and excellent food that let my husband and me and our closest friends and family relax and have a great time before our big day!!“

“Our family of 5 were on our way to Applebee's for lunch today. Unfortunately, we were in a car accident at the main intersection before the restaurant. Another car had hit us, leaving our car disabled. While everyone involved was okay, our lunch plans were obviously changed. While waiting for the tow trucks and clean up, 2 of my children and myself needed to use the restroom. We walked into the restaurant and asked to use the bathroom, explaining the situation, and the server we interacted with was beyond amazing. (I'm sorry I didnt get her name. We were rather shaken up.) She told us of course we could use the restrooms and asked if we were okay and if we needed anything else. She and a manager on duty checked on us one more time before we left, sending us out with water and the invitation to come back if we needed anything. As if we needed another reason to love this restaurant, they were so extremely sweet to us even when we weren't paying customers. They were just good humans. We never did get our Applebee's lunch today, but will definitely be back for our lunches and to thank them again for the generosity and compassion. ❤️❤️“
