“Today I stopped at The Hungry A. I have driven buy there many times. As I walked in the owners and people in there all greeted me like they know me. I had a coffee and it was one of the best I ever had. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. I will be be back. But what really got to me I walk with a cane and one of the girls there saw I was having a hard time she came around the counter and took what I was carrying and helped me to my car. Today there are not many people that are kind as she was. It made me know that there is still kind people in this world. If every would take the time to be kind to someone just once maybe it could be a start to make this world just a little better“

“I read all the positive reviews and had to check it out for myself. I have always found it difficult to find something as simple as a good breakfast place. But this time i found it! The second I walked in, I was impressed. The hostess greeted me immediately and with a smile. I asked if I should order now and she smiled and explained that she'd take my order and she'll bring it to me. It was very pleasant. The store itself is clean and bright. I ordered two eggs medium, sausage patties,home fries with peppers and onions, rye toast with a little butter and a medium coffee. Everything was made exactly as I ordered it. “Such a phenomenal place for breakfast, containing a large variety of breakfast foods such as pancakes, french toast, waffles, eggs, and more. Nice variety of coffees and lattes as well. They have lunch, but it’s a small menu, but it’s all homemade dishes which is definitely a good thing. The interior is fun, having many different pictures and nic nacs of old timey trends and fads. Very good location as well, being right near the train station.“

“I don't know what's going on with the one star ratings but they seem fake.

I ordered 3 times from Graduate Breakfasts. Pancakes with Nutella on a delivery order; they were fantastic The pancakes were cooked perfectly and the sides of meat were fresh and hot. The portions are on the large side which is great for me because I like a big breakfast.
The next delivery was a bunch of dishes for my friends and I to recover from the night before and they did the job we all felt great and refreshed and rejuvenated after eating these yummy plates. Nomx100.

Lastly, I had was a spontaneous chicken salad sandwich as I was walking by. Even this everyday-type-sandwich was very tasty and anything but mundane. It was seasoned perfectly and not dry and the bread was fresh so was the produce.

So don't believe the fake reviews. You can tell by their equally lame fake names and identical content. (e.g. Justin Case. So unimaginative,like the post)

This place is a gem. The food is fresh, tasty and fulfilling. Meals of this caliber can only be prepared by people who care about the food.

I just love good food. Period.

“Very busy Sunday crowd. Sat at the 4 person counter. Excellent service and the food was delicious. The home fries with the "Special" Acapulco omelet were very good & well cooked. The coffee was excellent too. Highly recommend you try this place!

“I thoroughly enjoy my dining experience at this location. No matter how busy it is my food always comes out hot and fresh. I never have to wait long to be seated or served. The host and waiters are very pleasant I definitely will be returning. Compared to the Springfield location this is very cozy and intimate setting. “The food is tasty, and the prices are very reasonable. For a little over $8, I got a platter of scrambled eggs, pork bacon, and cheese grits. Toast comes with it - they have both white and wheat bread - If it was extra, it was only by a dollar or so.
They used to have multiple tables that you could sit and eat at, but not anymore. The back of the restaurant looks like they're renovating, so those tables are not there. That is the only reason I didn't give the atmosphere 5 stars. However, there is one long table up front. There are no chairs, but on it are the various condiments: ketchup, maple syrup, salt and pepper, hot sauce, etc. My fiancé and I didn't want to eat on the train we were waiting to catch, so we ate at that same long table. Standing up and eating was the better option than trying to eat on a fast-moving train and/or bus.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating.“

“Being as though I lived in this neighborhood my entire life, I can say that I have never seen this business fall off. They have been a staple since I was young and more than likely beyond that.

The food is the exact type of breakfast food you are looking for. Nothing is over cooked or over seasoned. The food is so good, I find it hard to eat the entire platter at times. It is located in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood, so the environment may not be appealing to some. However, there is no denying or questioning their food and the quality.

Parking: The store is located on a corner. The only place you can't park are the bus stops. However, you can park across the street, behind the bus stops, and along the side the diner.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs to enter, simply a small ramp. Additionally, tables are low and you can rearrange them to fit your needs.“

“22-Apr-2022 breakfast: My friend and i bumped into this place while getting lost. Got the egg, cheese, bacon sandwich. Two light & fluffy scrambled eggs with cheese melted in (not just a hunk of cheese laying there), and like three pieces of perfectly cooked bacon on toasted wheat bread, then wrapped in wax paper and cut in 1/2. Would have been a great deal at 2x the price. Lady was friendly and patient w/ my questions. Easy to see why others love this place but sorry to hear others had bad experiences. We ate in the car while parked in the Wells Fargo carpark across the street. Not sure if it was the beautiful weather or just sharing time w/ a friend but this was the best breakfast i had in many moons. Bumping into this place wasn't destiny- just more proof that the universe is entangled.“

“5 of us went today (Sunday at 1pm). It's small, but there was seating available. Our server was nice. Really great portion sizes. Everyone left stuffed and satisfied.

“A busy, mostly carry out service with good food and friendly service. There's about four tables you can sit and eat at after ordering at the counter. Had Bacon, eggs, and grits, one of my diner go-to breakfasts, and it was served quickly with nice fresh ingredients. The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium and they gave plenty of bacon“

“Great food for omnivores and vegans alike. Awesome local spot for breakfast/brunch. Best place for a morning-after date ...but also good in the evening for a casual first date. I've lived in the neighborhood for many years and in the past Gold Standard has had it's issues ...but the new owners have gotten it right.
Update: I just had breakfast there this morning and the food is as good as ever! Since first writing this review, I've gotten to know the owners and they are just really good people. My server today, David, was really awesome.
I gave 4 stars on the atmosphere, not because the atmosphere is bad In any way, but because it can get loud during weekend brunches because all of the surfaces are reflective. So please, if you eat here, try to keep your voice down. ?
