“It's been a minute since we've been here. It has changed a lot. For the better. Seated promotly, they do try to push the bar tab. It's kinda expected and up to the customer to say yes or no. I had one. It was delicious! I ordered the veal tenders. I ordered without mushrooms and there was no oroblem. OMG! So nice and tasty. I brought some home for next days lunch. He had the veal chop. He enjoyed it. Lots if food but we wanted some salad. One salad and two plates. Who knew? It worked out great. The service was excellent. This used to be a quiet place to have dinner. They've added tables and it's much more lively. Everyone seemed happy and upbeat. We will be back. Yummy!“

“The food was fantastic! I recommend the calamari for an appetizer. Prime rib special was out of this world. It paired well with their signature old fashioned. To finish things off, I enjoyed the apple strudel dessert. The service was wonderful. Food was perfectly prepared and executed. Same goes for the drinks. “Named as one of the top dive bars in the country, Murph's is a bit less ragged and run down and a step up from some of the dives I've been in. It's clean, tastefully decorated, and spacious. You can immediately tell that this is a neighborhood bar, where the locals are all familiar with one another. There is ample space for pool, and the 360 degree wrap-around bar is a great touch. We only came in for beer, and I can report back that the draft beer is quite cold!“

The clientele are genuine locals from the area, all of whom seem to know one another. But the main attraction has to be Candice, the bartender who keeps the drinks filled and the conversation flowing. While there is no food available here, you can get snacks like free popcorn or beef jerky prepared locally by one of the patrons (it's quite good). We had the opportunity to meet Fred Comegys and talk to him for a while about his career as a bar owner and photo journalist. The walls are filled with photographs of his work, so make sure to take a look around this tastefully decorated pub with an artistic sensibility. Oh! And there's a shuffleboard table in the back.“

“Literally we were driving by and took a chance!It was exactly as it should be, a nice neighborhood tavern that was welcoming to a couple of strangers that stopped in for a pint or two. Yes, they serve GUINNESS! Food was comfortable, and tasty! The tavern has plenty of LARGE screen tvs for watching the Phillies from any point of view! We sat near the bar at a pub table, but they have a separate dining area where you could sit at a table away from the bar.“

“It's nice to see how the new owner has cleaned up the place. The atmosphere is inviting. There are plenty of TVs with a variety of sports to choose to from. The bartender, Charlie, was personable which added to a pleasant experience. The kitchen has added some interesting items to the menu. Was a little confused about the set up at first if we wait for a server, order every thing at the bar, or get one can or bottle at a time and then pay for it at the bar. 3rd party BBQ kitchen was good for BBQ sandwiches. You can try a beer and if you don't like it, try another.“

“Forever changing neighborhood this is a fairly decent dive bar. Shout out to Starmaid Shantay (sp)(Monday and Wednesday). The place is clean and people play great music from the 'jukebox'. This is an old school pace with two pool tables and a short food menu. I believe the same people own Rose Bar off of Island Ave. They have the standard Asian version of soul food, basically good fried wings with various fried rice on rotation. The Singapore Soup was just okay no tofu or chicken Would I go back? Yep during Happy Hour 5-7 Monday-Friday.“

“At first glance one would label John Morton's as a dive bar, however once given a shot one would find instead, a corner neighborhood bar. This bar makes me wish I were a local. So welcoming and friendly. The vibe here is high and positive. Loud music that isn't overwhelming and happy friendly faces all around. I was happily surprised with the roast beef sandwich, that although quite messy was tender and flavorful right down to the last drippy bite. The homesteader. A full long roll half pork/half beef, again dripping with juicy meat and tasty gravy. The waitstaff is personable, engaging and eager to please. Mon-Fri they offer lunch specials, and their regular prices are quite affordable.“

He quickly gave me advice on the local places to visit off the beat and path. Place seemed very clean, all the customers were very nice and welcoming. ATM available in establishment, pool table and good music, large televisions and cigarette machine, although I saw no one smoking in bar. They do sell beer for off site consumption. The banter between the clientele is funny and heartwarming. Bruce the bartender clearly enjoys his job and seems well respected by all in the bar. Place is big on Veterans. This place is a Gem.
