“One of the best ramen I ever tried! Awesome quality and the broth tastes very authentic! We had the tonkotsu and spicy miso ramen, the toppings and ramen itself was very flavorful, only the broth tasted a little bit too salty. Despite that, everything was perfect. Service and atmosphere was also very nice! Definitely worth a try!“

“The overall experience is ok, but there's a lot to improve. After going to similar restaurants (i.e. Omakase Ri in Lisbon) or even comparing it with real Izakayas in Japan, I have to confess they have a lot to do in terms of receiving guest, turning the meal into an experience, keep the environment (sushimans talk loudly to the costumers they are serving at a specific moment) and maintain food rounds in a carrousel of flavours that starts smooth and end up blowing minds. I find the 65euros menu price acceptable, but probably i would get out hangry if they wouldn't had served bread along with the last course before desert - furthermore, at the initial approach in the restaurant they talk a lot about such a bread, elevating the expectations, but it end ups being a bit of a disapointment. I also have to say their kind of Izakaya was overall really good as they manage quite well the "spicy" and "salty" flavours that are not so common in Japanese cousine. Congrats for the innovation but please revise house rules and guest service. Cheers“

“We all love Sushi, super fresh and simply delicious. Everything at Musaxi is delicious, from the sushi, to the mushrooms, breaded prawns and bacon... Everything.
It is in an easily accessible area of Porto (Areosa). Without a doubt, I recommend it.“

“One of the best, most delicious sushi restaurants I’ve had globally. Located in a quiet part of the city, we were the only ones dining there at 7:30PM on a weeknight. We shared the 30 piece sushi and veggie gyozas. Affordable for the high quality sushi.“

“We had dinner at Subenshi do Porto, on the first floor. The service was extraordinary. I made a mistake when ordering and, when I realized it, the staff were extremely attentive and understanding. Very good quality and delicious sushi. They have, without a doubt, won my preference!“

“Das Tokkotai ist ein sehr schickes Restaurant mit sehr aufmerksamem Personal. Das Gebäude ist in einem leicht unterirdischem Gewölbe und sehr stimmig eingerichtet. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut und sogar mein Cocktail war aussergewöhlich gut. Ein schönes Erlebnis, wenn man sich etwas gönnen möchte und den leicht höheren Preis total wert.“

“We had the tasting menu, which was 23.90 pp. The sushi was nice, but the food came way too fast after the course before. Because of that you can’t eat that much. We also got tamaki at first, which was a little big and our first and second plate of sushi were exactly the same. The staff was nice, but I don’t think it’s worth it. It’s better to order sushi rolls by yourself or the restaurant should bring some sushi by two pieces pp at the time, not a whole plate.“

“Food was DELICIOUS here. We had the all you can eat and we are pretty spoiled with good all you can eat sushi in Toronto but this might be even better (and definitely cheaper).
We are big sushi lovers and were very impressed. The fish and rice were definitely fresh and flavourful. The service was very efficient and the hours are great (open until 11pm). Definitely recommend :)“

“My family and I have passed by this restaurant several times. It always appeared to be doing a lively business so we decided to give it a try. We all enjoy sushi so we were looking forward to the visit. The restaurant had received good ratings and our experience confirms those good ratings. The food was very good. The sushi was well prepared. The nigiri were also well prepared. Our favorite was the dragon roll. But quite frankly, everything was very good. The fish was fresh and tasty. The rice was prepared well and not overly clumpy. And the prices were much less than one would expect get in the quality and quantity of the food.“

“I have ordered a couple of times, their food is incredible... The kanaage chicken is superb.
Called one time to ask what should I order, and the lady who spoke to me advised the drunken chicken noodles, and I can tell you it was delicious.
Have not gone to the restaurant "yet" , but I would bet its 2x better than delivery.
Very good job, Take a Break, can't wait to dine in!!!“

“We didn't know about it and we got a reservation with very little notice: a resounding success. Contained portions but with a lot of flavor, originality and personality. The boy who attended us, friendly and explanatory, advised us very well. A rude, noisy Spanish couple with three children spoiled our evening, but the locals knew how to manage it well, thank you for that and we apologize on behalf of the Spanish people. We will be back.
Kid-friendliness: In such an intimate environment, it's best to leave the kids at home.“

“A great experience... perfect service, pleasant, smiling and warm staff. A soft and cozy atmosphere with just perceptible music that transports you. A comfortable, discreet space.
As for the menu, sushi, sashimi... desserts (treat yourself), a delight, each bite, a real pleasure for the taste buds☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ what a joy to still find places where everything is grant and where we leave enchanted. We will return there before we leave.
I definitely recommend a place to go to have a good time ?“

“Food was great, we had the lunch menu, the quality of the fish in all courses was star level. The wine was also great, the acidity matched, but it was too dry for the fish. The service was nice, but not courteous, the menu included green tea and since I had wine with lunch, I was not informed about it or offered water instead. The tip that was sold to me as a tax was also on the credit card.“

“Nestled in a quiet side street in Porto's Bonfim area, Izakaya Japanese Cuisine Restaurant is a hidden gem you might easily overlook if you’re not searching for it. Despite its unassuming location, this intimate establishment is well worth seeking out for its unique take on Japanese cuisine. With only about a dozen seats, including a cozy sushi bar, Izakaya offers a personalized dining experience where chef Rúben Mesquita frequently engages with patrons as he crafts each dish.
The atmosphere is casual and intimate, with a mix of international guests and local couples seated at the sushi bar during our visit. Reservations are a must, as we learned a few years ago when we tried to drop in spontaneously and were politely turned away due to the restaurant’s limited seating. After finally booking a spot well in advance, we received thoughtful reminders leading up to our dining date. On the day of, the chef or manager even called to inquire about dietary restrictions, a gesture we appreciated, given my wife’s aversion to raw seafood.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly without the need for introductions. The service, although attentive and knowledgeable, is understandably paced, given that only two staff members manage the entire operation. The menu, which varies daily based on ingredient availability, was meticulously explained to us, as was the thoughtfully curated wine list.
Our culinary adventure began with a delightful chef’s treat: a ball of diced raw tuna coated with dried seaweed, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a thoughtful touch, though I found it curious they served it to my wife, given her preference for cooked dishes. The remainder of our meal was presented in courses, highlighting the chef’s modern interpretations of Japanese classics.
We started with shrimp tempura which was expertly prepared. I indulged in a selection of sashimi and Kobe beef nigiri, while my wife opted for the Okonomiyaki. One of the highlights was the soy sauce, imported directly from Japan, and the fresh wasabi, grated tableside—a rare treat even in Japan.
While I relished each dish, the pacing might be a consideration for those with dietary preferences, as my wife found herself waiting as I savored the raw delicacies. However, this also allowed us to appreciate the exceptional wines paired with our meal. The Quinta de Ceis, Caracol dos Profetas, and the intriguingly dry Respiro Ciarete blend were all selected to complement the subtle flavors of the Japanese cuisine.
For those new to Japanese food, Izakaya is a culinary treasure, offering detailed explanations of each dish that serve as an educational experience. However, seasoned travelers or those familiar with authentic Japanese dining may find the chef’s creative interpretations less traditional. Regardless, the combination of excellent food, engaging service, and carefully chosen wines makes Izakaya a memorable destination.
With its charming atmosphere and unique culinary offerings, Izakaya earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The restaurant provides an intriguing glimpse into Japanese cuisine, with a special emphasis on presentation and flavor that will surely delight both novices and aficionados alike. Do remember to bring a bit of patience for the personalized service—it is well worth the wait.“

“By far the best all you can eat restaurant I’ve ever dined in. You order a la carte from sashimi to tempura and it is all exceptional. I am not exaggerating when I say the quality is on par with most sushi places in London except it is 25% of the price. We ate here on a Wednesday night and it was 22 EUR a person… stop reading this review and book a table!“
“(Translated by Google) One of the best sushi I've ever had, fresh products, great flavor and not expensive. I ordered it today through Uber eats, 30 minutes before the establishment closes, and it was super fast to deliver. Quality price 5 stars. There is only one drawback, which is that it was impossible to contact the establishment. As it was the first time that he had ordered and the delivery was made by the descent itself, it was not possible to track the courier. So I wanted to get in touch with the establishment to see if the order was on its way or not, but it was impossible. In the app when I clicked to call, the number was 93, I called and it was off, Google showed an 808, called and it was unavailable. Finally I went to the site and wanted two 22 numbers, one of them was unavailable or the other called, but no one answered. Other than that I have nothing bad to say.(Original)Um dos melhores sushis que já comi, produtos frescos, ótimo sabor e nada caro.

Even though we didn't speak the same language and didn't always understand each other, they knew how to put us at ease and met all our expectations. The restaurant is small, quaint, but very pretty! “This restaurant deserves a maximum rating on every point. I was treated by my better half the day before my birthday, with this trip to Grand' Honra after work day and what a great surprise! Top service, very friendly from those who served us and the chefs too. We were entitled to some treats from the chef, and I would say it was the first time we had experienced this type of service. Top food, very tasty and the quality and freshness of the ingredients can be seen, it is quite noticeable. We ordered the house specialty and I can say that we were well advised. Despite not being a central location, the Faria Guimarães metro is at the door and it takes 5 minutes on foot to Trindade. It's worth trying this restaurant and we will definitely come back, even if it's for lunch during the work day to try the daily menus :)“

“This is a small take-away only sushi spot with s decent menu. I must say, everything was fresh and tasty- no big issues with them. Just basic and clean and worth it in a pinch. Not super excellent but really quite good. We brought it back to the hotel we were staying in just down the street. I’d go again if I stay in the neighborhood.“

“We simply loved it. We ordered the all-you-can-eat sushi. We ate everything and each piece was tastier than the last ○ lemon juice with strawberries is wonderful. The food is very well prepared and very tasty. We asked for some different things (no carrots, no peanuts) and they answered us promptly and with great friendliness. For dessert we ordered lemon tart... what I have to say is: EAT IT, it's simply perfect. And lastly and most importantly: we were served by Claudio and I wanted to thank him immensely because he was extremely kind, attentive, and didn't miss anything at our table. It was cute and made us completely comfortable. Cláudio, if you are reading this, thank you very much for serving us and when we return I hope that you will serve us again. Your service made all the difference!! It was the first place we went to in Porto so far and we were very well looked after, very clean and had very good food. The first one that I really don't have any details to point out. Mandatory stop for anyone visiting Porto
Vegetarian options: There is an option for those who do not consume animal protein without losing flavor

“Ordered sushi set freestyle and 2 desserts - lemon pie with merengue and caramelised banana with ice-cream.
The waiter was very friendly and suggested the most popular dishes, and also asked if we want to customize the sushi set, for example if we don't eat something or don't want fried sushi. The set was really great, it had rolls with black and red caviar, tuna and salmon sashimi, fried rolls, all very tasty, I can say that they don't just serve the usual sushi, but they also have their own well-thought recipes.
Desserts were both amazing as well, lemon pie was like a mousse, sour and sweet just enough to make it ideal, banana with ice-cream was also very nice.
I would definitely recommend this place, already checked and they deliver by uber eats, but the price is higher there (sushi set 36 euro against 30 euro on-site)“

“The staff doesn't really know Portuguese very well, which is quite unprofessional unfortunately, and the food is so varied that lacks quality you'd find in other restaurants. Still, the variety and quantity offered by the buffet makes up for it a bit. Overall, interesting experience for a big group that doesn't share the same taste buds.“

As a solo traveler, it sometimes feels awkward to go into a restaurant alone, but everyone was super warm and welcoming, and the food & sake were DELICIOUS.
