Called one time to ask what should I order, and the lady who spoke to me advised the drunken chicken noodles, and I can tell you it was delicious.

“We loved the concept of Venn, which is impressive to say the least - artisanal, gourmet food and a zero waste concept. The food was delicious - we went for the 4 and the 6 course options, and the portions were perfect, if even a little large (mind you I am definitely one of those who thinks they can eat an enormous amount, but quickly discover I'm full!). The crispy laver was amazing, and the walnut cheese under beetroot-soaked black turnip carpaccio was delicious. I loved the variety in the all the courses. The restaurant were also exceptionally attentive to a particularly tricky allergy we had in our party - the brassica family, which unfortunately includes cabbage, cauliflower, rapeseed oil, mustard, turnips amongst many other foods, so it is very challenging for a chef to deal with! We contacted them in advance, and then they were extremely careful in doublechecking with my daughter for every dish. The staff were all lovely. We felt very welcomed, and we really enjoyed our visit.“

“The overall experience is ok, but there's a lot to improve. After going to similar restaurants (i.e. Omakase Ri in Lisbon) or even comparing it with real Izakayas in Japan, I have to confess they have a lot to do in terms of receiving guest, turning the meal into an experience, keep the environment (sushimans talk loudly to the costumers they are serving at a specific moment) and maintain food rounds in a carrousel of flavours that starts smooth and end up blowing minds. I find the 65euros menu price acceptable, but probably i would get out hangry if they wouldn't had served bread along with the last course before desert - furthermore, at the initial approach in the restaurant they talk a lot about such a bread, elevating the expectations, but it end ups being a bit of a disapointment. I also have to say their kind of Izakaya was overall really good as they manage quite well the "spicy" and "salty" flavours that are not so common in Japanese cousine. “We went there for dinner and sat at a table outside, in the back of the restaurant, in a nice patio. The food was good, especially the mains. As starter we had the fried crepes which were a bit odd and pricey, as they came with a side of unseasoned lettuce and mint. As mains, I had the caju rice and my partner the egg noodles. Her’s was tastier, with large pieces of fried tofu, but mine was flavourful too. In any case I still see the overall experience as good and I would come back!“

However, the food I ordered was a bit bland and I was honestly not expecting for it to come with canned, uncooked mushrooms. This was a Korean dish, bibimbap, and there are other restaurants in Porto that offer the same food for a better price and with better ingredients as well.I do recommend you go there for snacks though, such as their chocolate fish, as they taste amazingly!

Vegetarian options: I am vegetarian and the dish I described in my description was the only one I found that didn't have meat or seafood. You can make it vegan by not ordering the egg, I'm pretty sure. I asked the waitress if a few other dishes could have the meat removed and therefore made vegetarian and unfortunately they cook the sauces with the meat so that wasn't an option for me.“

“We didn't know about it and we got a reservation with very little notice: a resounding success. Contained portions but with a lot of flavor, originality and personality. The boy who attended us, friendly and explanatory, advised us very well. A rude, noisy Spanish couple with three children spoiled our evening, but the locals knew how to manage it well, thank you for that and we apologize on behalf of the Spanish people. We will be back.

“We had the tasting menu, which was 23.90 pp. The sushi was nice, but the food came way too fast after the course before. Because of that you can’t eat that much. We also got tamaki at first, which was a little big and our first and second plate of sushi were exactly the same. The staff was nice, but I don’t think it’s worth it. It’s better to order sushi rolls by yourself or the restaurant should bring some sushi by two pieces pp at the time, not a whole plate.“

“A great experience... perfect service, pleasant, smiling and warm staff. A soft and cozy atmosphere with just perceptible music that transports you. A comfortable, discreet space.
As for the menu, sushi, sashimi... desserts (treat yourself), a delight, each bite, a real pleasure for the taste buds☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ what a joy to still find places where everything is grant and where we leave enchanted. We will return there before we leave.

“The food and service were great. Food came out relatively quick and piping hot. The spring roll starters had a generous meat filling. I had the prawn noodles and my husband had the special pho. Both broths were tasty. I’d come here again! I love that this place is open earlier than 7pm as I needed somewhere to feed my toddler.
