“My wife and I had a fantastic evening here on Friday. It has a warm atmosphere that made us want to stay much longer than we would have normally. The food was exquisite, and a good value for the quality provided. The wine list was extensive, featuring wines from several French regions, as well as some from Italy, Spain, US, and Canada. The servers were attentive, speaking French and English, and there was a sommelier on staff to help with the wine. The plates weren’t overly large, but we were quite filled after three courses, wine, and an aperitif. We are definitely coming back the next time we’re in town.“

The menu is both inventive and beautifully executed. The service is attentive, but not overbearing. The cocktail and wine list are excellent (although the wine list is devoid of good deals…). “One of my favorite hotels ever!! Right in the heart of old Montreal, and a short walk to everything that Old Montreal has to offer. It sits on a beautiful cobblestone street, and is in an old, historic building. The rooms were beautiful, with windows that open to let in some great fresh air. I loved their little breakfast, which consisted of different breads each day, spread, cheese, and some cold pressed local juice. Just a top notch experience, and affordable too!“

“This is our 2nd time at Le Cartet. The waiter has such great memory and remembers our family. He is friendly and warm. We ordered Canton, Lac Brome and Nordique. All 3 dishes are excellent but Nordique stands out the most. I love the cream cheese spread and their choice of the smoke salmon. I love their coffee as well.“

“I love supporting restaurants that are part of a school. Students need to learn first hand.

ITHQ has a nice location and staff was very welcoming.

The magret de canard was what you would expect of the dish. We had turbot with couscous and strawberries, which I found a bit too sofistaced. I think that real talent shows when you can work with a limited number of ingredients.

All in all a nice experience.“

“Such a hidden gem!! Waiter was great and the food and service was outstanding. We ended up having the Venison pot-au-feu style, which was this delicious deer with potatoes and veggies in a broth. We told the waiter that I love Pino Noir and so we ended up with a bottle of the Morgon. Will definitely come back next time we visit Montreal.“

Our waiter, Ivan, made some excellent suggestions for our entrees which we agreed to try. The food was delicious & Ivan’s attention to our dinner made a nice ending to an already perfect day.“

“The service in general was good. We didn't wait too long between our dishes, however we had to ask for the bread and butter. We tested the Montreal menu at the table. The plates were tasty but the portions were small. The menu proposed for Montréal à table did not include dessert. Although it could be added, it would have been a nice addition to incorporate it directly.“

Amazing personable service, the menu has something for everyone which is hard to do and their specials are seasonal and delicious.

Now the wines, they have a great and extensive wine list with great price points PLUS a huge cellar list. If you love wine you must come here and be treated to a great evening of food and wine.

Oh and the dessert menu is superb. Love restaurants where it's hard to choose what to eat because everything sounds and is delicious.

“I just discovered they are selling some food prepared on site by the students. I especially loved being able to get good quality bakery products with an economical price.
The only downside is they don't have a regular schedule.“

“The food was Excellent! Much better than expected. The place was a bit loud and there were a lot of kids but that can be attributed to the time of year. The prices were also very good, low for the quality of the food. Lots of space between the tables also meant you had privacy for conversations, if you could be heard above the children. On a different night it would have been quite romantic. The only downside was the service which was indifferent. Drink refills were non-existent and if you wanted something you had to get up from your table and go find a staffer. I believe we went a full 20 minutes without seeing any staff in the dining room. The diners were all looking around, confused. I believe that this night the staff were focused on a large group in a separate room but that doesn't change the fact that we all are paying customers and expect the same service. With even a modicum of service this would have been a five star review. The food was just that good.“
