“A beautiful little Japanese restaurant with a very warm welcome. It was the first time I ate nigiri, it wasn't to my taste but I could still see the excellent quality of the fish. The daikon starter, sake and mochi were very good though. The only downside was the service was a bit long but it was still bearable. If you like raw fish dishes, I think this is a must.“

“Wonderful service from smiling individuals that clearly know their food is awesome. Like daaaamn! That katsu curry bowl was so tasty it healed my soul from the inside. ? Oh, and that mackerel appetizer was easily the best of its kind I've tasted in this city. The umaminess was off the charts! ? — Will definitely be returning to sample the full menu. ?

This is also a great place to bring a date or have a chat with a friend. Music is tasteful yet not so loud you can't hear each other speak. (Other restos, take note!)

“Very good Izakaya, I recommend the tasting menu at $45 per person for 3 or 4 people, it allows you to have a good tour of the menu, we were able to test 12 items from the menu :)

My favorite dishes: sarada ramen, candy salmon, beek tataki, okonomiyaki (flatter and spicier than those in Japan), karaage
I also liked: takoyaki, gyoza, pokuribu
Not a big fan: tarutaru, gyudon, gomae, godzilla dessert

“My last restaurant visit on my roadtrip to Montreal after a floor New York. I had the seared Taylor seared tuna and it was great. I had a Japanese soda with floating balls. They didn’t have takoyaki but a side salad with squid. The atmosphere was great and the ladies who served me were fantastic. It was better than the Japanese places in Pensacola. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Montreal but I’ll try to head there again.“

“I booked a table at 5 pm because the restaurant only takes reservations at 5 and 7 pm, the place was full and lively. The ingredients were fresh and tasty! It wasn't my first visit so I'm happy to see that the quality is consistent. Everything was delicious and we couldn't get enough of the salmon sashimi and the sushi there. The staff was nice and my friends and I had a great time, definitely recommend for group dinners and dates! :) I'll take photos next time I go!“

It's not a place where you eat, it's more of a take-out counter, because the atmosphere isn't quite there even if you sense a problem with the decoration all the same. “Although Kashima is located close to our home, I only discovered it recently following a neighbour's recommendation. Kashima prepares sushi for take-out only. I have been ordering a "small" sushi-sashimi combo. The sashimi is plentiful, very fresh and delicious, and the sushi also of excellent quality. The portions of wasabi and ginger are large and taste as if they were prepared especially for each order. The combo includes a small salad and a generous portion of miso soup. The price in view of the quality is extremely reasonable. Since discovering Kashima I have become a regular customer ( at least once a week), and l recommend it highly to those who appreciate good quality sushi and sashimi. For many years I lived in Vancouver, where sushi was plentiful, high quality, and reasonably priced. Kashima is the first restaurant I have found in Montreal that compares well to the sushi restaurants I enjoyed in Vancouver.“

“Fantastic food, restaurant and service. The quality is very high and everything was absolutely delicious. We had the Lava and Kenzo sushis, the Lava was the best but i also recommend the Kenzo. The portions were generous and the presentation was on point. Then i had the Salmon Poke and it was absolutely amazing. Will be eating it again. The matcha cheesecake was yummy. Service was great and attentive to our needs.“

“The music, primarily house and trance, is great, and the club itself has a stylish atmosphere. The dinner and bottle service were satisfactory, though I had some issues with the communication – the email contact person didn’t fully address my questions about my reservation. While the food presentation is impressive, the quality doesn’t quite match the price point, which might explain why the restaurant isn’t fully booked during dinner hours. However, once the club opens, it gets crowded. I’d also suggest playing subtle “crowd noise” during dinner and show times to enhance the ambiance and create a livelier vibe.“

Good: we had the Omakase sushi and the lemon dessert. Both were absolutely fantastic. The fish was fresh and melt in your mouth. The lemon dessert thing was recommended from the waitress who was very sweet and gave great service.

Bad: this is very expensive, I wouldn’t spend money here unless I had free spend through my credit card. The breakfast was about as good as a shopping mall cafeteria. The berries on the side of my eggs Benedict had white mold growing on them.
