“Stopped by for an ice cream treat on a hot day and loved watching them make it fresh with the chopping, blending, and rolling. I had the pistachio. It was creamy and not too sweet, though the flavor was a bit mild for my taste. My friend had the mixed berry but was hoping for a more tart flavor. Overall, a fun experience, just not quite our flavor style.“

“I really like Menchie's as a whole. They're got a good variety of flavours and toppings and I always end up spending less than I expect to. The servers are pleasant, if a bit inattentive and the patio is quite nice in the summer. The biggest problem with this location is that it often feels a bit run down. The machines are often a little wonky, often dispensing almost liquid froyo, there's sometimes garbage or sticky residue left around and the toppings, especially the cooled ones, are sometimes depleted. Though I think this just comes from the fact that the location itself is too small and understaffed for how busy it gets.“

It turned out to be a rainy day and they opened for the students so that the students wouldn’t be disappointed. For God Shakes caters to a variety of diets with a list of dairy and dairy-alternatives sure to satisfy anyone in search of a sweet sip. We sampled the menu and ordered the lactose-free Dark Knight (an old school, simple chocolate shake), the decadent freakshake The Crispy Chip, a slice of carrot cake (vegan) and a Caramel Iced Coffee. Each beverage came in a glass jar or bottle, with a wide paper straw. Lids are available so you can take your shakes to go, and reuse the containers.
