“A great French restaurant, with amazing food, wine list, and service. If you go during the day time, try to book à table under the glass ceiling! I really liked their appetizers and desserts the most, their paté was amazing, and the bone marrow, chèvre salade, grilled octopus, duck confit were also really tasty. The lemon tart was one of the best I've had in Montreal.“

“I would have to say that this was absolutely one of the best meals we’ve ever had!!! We started with a plate of Oysters that were perfect! We had the Arctic Char for 2 with a side of Gnocchi and Caesar salad the fusion of flavour in the sauce on the Char was heavenly. The fish was done to perfection!! The Gnocchi was unlike any we had ever had and the herb oil drizzle highlighted the perfect texture and flavour of the gnocchi. The deconstructed Caesar was perfect!! We finished the meal off with the Maple Creme Brûlée. The entire staff were friendly supportive and knowledgeable from the moment we walked in!! C’est Manifique!! Bravo!!!“

“Went to several great tables recently and this place didn't disappoint. Some risk, would have loved to see more creativity from such a renowned place (that's why 4 stars and not 3). Portions were on the small side (I took 2 appetizers). Service however was on point, taste was excellent and cooking done perfect. Very picky of me to give 4 stars but Vin Mon Lapin the night prior and Monarque on Thursday were a match, with a little extra. I would come back to club Chasse et Pêche. Very close tin mu book to 5 stars (4.5 can't give 1/2).“

“Very good place. Impeccable and personal service, well played and diligent. This restaurant is not for the small budget though, check the prices. A suggestion: while charging $15 for a beer, it would be good to offer an original local micro beer, we have excellent ones in Montreal (Brewskey, Messorem, Toltek). Excellent food and worth the price (it's relative!). It should be noted that a very beautiful private reception room is available and welcoming for 50 people in the basement. “Found this place by chance and what a blessing! This place is a hidden gem in Broussard and Montreal. It’s not often you find a place where the chef genuinely cares about each and every dish he makes and that shows in the service and quality of the food. The food was not only a golden balance of flavors but also textures and with such precision the first bite will make you dance! I had the pleasure of tasting the chicken tajine which is a must get, don’t even think about it. The aroma and flavor of the olives and lemon in the dish were so pronounced yet clean and complemented the tender chicken thigh perfectly. The couscous royale is also a treat with tender chunks of beef and a lightly spicy beef sausage, the couscous is cooked authentically which many fail to make correctly but here it is done perfectly leaving it light and fluffy while still grabbing all the sauce from the meat. I also tried the mousse made with mascarpone and it is a perfect way to end the meal as it is not too sweet, light and tangy it cleanses and cleans the palette well, if I recall correctly it also has a touch of mint which also a layer of freshness that’s appreciated and really brings the dessert full circle. The crème brûlée I tasted a spoon full from my partner and almost cleaned the plate, creamy and sweet! We ended our meal with the Moroccan tea and were transported to back to the days we visited! The chef was friendly and so were the staff their warm hearts, smiles and hospitality left a great impression on us and this place is now a regular for us when we are in Montreal. Despite coming in near closing time everything was still available for us.I almost forget to mention this place is very reasonably priced I was surprised the amount of food and quality I would have expected to pay double for it and gladly so!TLDR: come here and eat! “I wanted to love this place. I thought it would have been at the level of a Michelin restaurant, but it fell just short. It was good, but not great. The atmosphere was distorted a bit by the bar. I’m just not used to a Michelin level restaurant having a large bar. It detracted from the atmosphere. There is a bar in the hotel lobby, so this was not necessary.Service was good, but a bit generic. They did pay attention to small details, such as replacing a napkin that fell to the floor with a new one, but I was not blown away by much more. The pacing of our experience felt off, with awkward gaps of time in between some courses. We got the degustation menu. It was decent. Generally at these restaurants, you’ll be tempted with a series of amuse bouches that sets the tone for the evening. That part was skipped. So we went right to the menu. The only course that was not good was the sea bream carpaccio. It tasted overly fishy, and the shaved celery was an odd pairing. It got better from there, with the standout being the duck foie gras. The only other miss was the dessert, which was a tasteless chocolate brioche crisp with a lemon sorbet. This was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise good meal.Again, decent meal, but would not be worthy of a star if Michelin were to come to Montreal. I think most courses were good on their own, but they didn’t match with each other. It was a bit confusing. I’d prefer the experience to tell a story, or feel more purposeful.“

I highly recommend their brunch (Crêpe farcie aux fruits de mer especially), it’s so so good and not the usual eggs, bacon dishes. The dinner menu changes every season (I think) so sometimes it’s not as good. The fancier items in the menu are honestly mid, but the burgers are always solid! Make sure to order the Parmesan and truffle fries!“

“Possibly the best restaurant experience we have had. We visited while on vacation in Old Montreal and we were lucky enough to be there for a live blues band. We had the garlic snails as an appetizer and freshly baked warm rolls were brought to the table as well. The Lamp Chops were out of this world as was my wifes Filet Mignon. That was followed by a crazy good creme brulee. The drinks were professionally made as well and were exceptional. On top of all this the server named Rad was no less than perfect. Friendly, knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves throughout the night. He also allowed us all the time we wanted for a nice meal and music. Thank you for a memorable night.“

“This is the number one restaurant in Montreal. Food is insane. Drinks are unique and their wine selection goes well with their menu. To top it off, the service is unmatched. My wife and I spend every special event there since the day their doors opened (minus Covid days)We are lucky as Montrealers to have such a quality restaurant.“

“Good and friendly service. We really liked the shrimp risotto. Excellent seasoning. Dish served well. For an additional CA$8, we had a green salad for starters, which was very good, and a dessert, which is very good value for money. We tested the pistachio mousse. Great. Very good taste in the assembly of the dishes, although the menu is not long.“

“Service for lunch was very slow, but service for dinner was very fast. Weirdly the lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu, but the sandwich and lunch options aren't great, better for dinner. I did at least have a good poke bowl for lunch, tons of tuna which i thought was great and plenty of mango and other fruit. Really sizable bowl and quite filling. Had the pasta for dinner and it was actually quite good - a spicy vodka sauce was very tasty. It was a large portion but rather heavy so I didn't come close to finishing the serving. It's a convenient option for sure and decent overall.“

“The cutest Ice cream shop on Mont royal, love the terasse overlooking the busy street. Plenty of choices for ice cream, but their soft serve is my go-to especially with the sheer amount of chocolate flavors you can dip it in. Been coming there since Im a kid, and will probably keep going as long as its here.“

Café L'Express Matin French •
285 R. Notre Dame O G12, Montréal - 7.13 miles

“I absolutely adore this restaurant. I plan my visits in advance for special occasions and spend the afternoon before excited for what I might order. I also enjoy going alone and sitting at the bar, which is nice on the way home from being out. My favourite menu items have been the chèvre with confit tomatoes, the steak frites (which I prefer with salad), the house ravioli (French style Italian food will always win me over) and the tartare. The desserts here are also delicious. People love the fish soup, I am however not a fan but I think it's just personal preference. It's one of their signature items so I recommend trying it and deciding for yourself. The restaurant is fully staffed with a very courteous host, servers who know the menu by heart, and food runners who fill water and clear plates very attentively. I love the service and food comes out in a timely manner. The kitchen is hidden away behind swinging saloon doors and I'm curious what goes on in there. I get the sense that it's very loud and busy like a well oiled machine. I imagine a blur of white chef hats and jackets quickly cutting, cooking, and plating. Or maybe it's a small quiet efficient team. Who knows? Only the employees.“
