“Délicieux en tout temps!!“

“Had to try the iconic Joe Beef while in Montreal. Made resos well ahead to make sure we got the time slot desired. We were shown to our table. The dining area is sneaky large as there are lots of tables in various areas around the restaurant and also a bar counter area. The tables are very close together so it feels tight and gets very noisy as the restaurant is full.

Our server, Julien, did a great job in explaining the menu and offered up good choices in wine pairings for the food. We chose the beef tartar with bone marrow toast, smoked meat terrine, duck breast with duck sausage, and the halibut (fish of the day), and a side of asparagus. For dessert we shared the marjolaine cake. All the dishes were nicely plated and very tasty.“

“My wife and I had a fantastic evening here on Friday. It has a warm atmosphere that made us want to stay much longer than we would have normally. The food was exquisite, and a good value for the quality provided. The wine list was extensive, featuring wines from several French regions, as well as some from Italy, Spain, US, and Canada. The servers were attentive, speaking French and English, and there was a sommelier on staff to help with the wine. The plates weren’t overly large, but we were quite filled after three courses, wine, and an aperitif. We are definitely coming back the next time we’re in town.“

The bread basket arrived warm with several varieties and good butter. The charcuterie platter was solid but not the standout — decent quality, though a step below the rest of the spread. Service was a real strength: polished, attentive, and friendly throughout. Sitting outside in the garden setting was a real treat — calm, green, and relaxing. It’s a rich, calorie-heavy brunch — come hungry and pace yourself — but a very satisfying one.“

“One of my favorite hotels ever!! Right in the heart of old Montreal, and a short walk to everything that Old Montreal has to offer. It sits on a beautiful cobblestone street, and is in an old, historic building. The rooms were beautiful, with windows that open to let in some great fresh air. I loved their little breakfast, which consisted of different breads each day, spread, cheese, and some cold pressed local juice. Just a top notch experience, and affordable too!“

“Great food and atmosphere. Came in here during a long layover in the city. Had the smoked salmon bagel and an iced coffee, bill came out to $37.66CAD with out tip. Feel that’s pretty average given the area. Food was very good and i enjoy the open kitchen view. The coffee was also delicious, got the salted Carmel latte. Menu had French and English and the service was fast and kind. Great spot for a nice lunch.“

“Delicious high end French courses. We had this on Christmas Eve and the waiter was very kind and helpful. The head chef was very good at his craft of cooking and the entire restaurant was extremely cozy and the atmosphere was amazing with soft lit candles and relaxing music. We had the 5 course meal and the ingredients are all local and freshly made. The free bread was also very fresh. You could tell the chef spent a lot of work and time preparing the dishes.
