“Always a nostalgic meal at Chalet Bar-B-Q, a must-visit when we return home for comforting and familiar Montreal food, along with smoked meat and bagels, of course! The decor is dated but that is what makes it so charming. Chicken is always perfectly cooked – they are the only ones in Montreal still allowed to use charcoal, and their's is red cherrywood. It complete elevates the chicken. French fries are plentiful and perfect, especially with their nonstop supply of sauce. I want to also mention Tina, our server, who is joy personified and the most attentive waitperson imaginable. She took the best possible care of us and we left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.“

“Visiting from NB and our cab driver recommended we try! We ordered the mixed plate with extra hummus, and halloumi plate. Everything was on point. Two of us could not finish the meal and had enough for both to eat for lunch the following day. Staff were friendly, environment was cozy. Highly recommend!“

“Montrealers typically say: Go to Toronto for good Chinese food. I generally agree except for Dak Hing. Everything is authentic, delicious, and even better than the best that I've had across the GTA. It's obvious everything is thoughtfully and craftfully made when they source their meat from local farms. We have never been disappointed here. Their 芋頭糕 (taro cake) for the Lunar New Year is THE best. (We order in advance - they are so popular!) We enjoy their 粽 (zongzi) during the Dragonboat festival too. Dak Hing keeps me connected to my roots and I appreciate their hard work so much.“

“Although the restaurant has recently changed ownership (per their banner outside), for the most part the quality and portions are comparable to what they were before.
Decent value for a diner.
One downside we experienced is that their waffles (specifically) are a lot smaller than they were in the past.
Their breakfast / special breakfast plates remain great options though.“

“First visit to Diablo's last night, will definitely be back. BBQ was delicious, service was friendly and attentive and atmosphere was exactly what one might expect for a BBQ joint - dark, woodsy and "Southern". A very fun and tasty experience overall and highly recommended.“

“We didn't want to brave line up for Schwartz's and we were so glad that we stopped in. The food was excellent and the portions were quite generous. If you are in the area it might be a key move to skip the line at Schwartz's and get quick friendly service here at Jano. Our meal was less than $20 per person for chicken, salad and a generous serving of fries.“

“Had an amazing experience at Rustik Sunday night thanks to the bartender with curly hair! Always so attentive and helpful and you can tell everyone loves her! I often avoid this place on the nights that the Asian looking lady with glasses works as she’s very rude and aggressive and seems to hate everyone in the world and will avoid giving back change by any means necessary assuming she deserves a 30% tip“

“Had the brisket, husband had the pulled pork and MIL had the chilli and Mac & Cheese and we were all too busy eating to even have a conversation. The Brisket was so darn good, I was bursting at the seams but had to finish it because it was just too good. Fresh, great seasonings, delicious sauce, melt in the mouth kind of meat. The house beer was inexpensive but good, and the service was great. I can’t wait to be hungry again so I can get more food.“

“I've been going one day every week for years and I have never had just an ok meal but every single time it's always exceptional, which these days are very hard to find. “The experience was ok. I think the server was new as she did not know the specials. I asked for the burger special and a beer. Beer was wonderfully cold, but the burger came naked. No tomatoes, no onions, just a plain burger on a bun. Because I had a bit of a time constraint, I did not ask to add the toppings, I just ate it. Overall experience was ok,“

“A hidden gem in Montreal underground city.Great food, tasty, fresh and juicy. The seasoning is delicious, really something to try.I’ve ordered the chicken and beef plate with three extras and it was more than I could eat, everything fresh and really delicious.The service couldn’t be better, there’s always a gentle person offering samples at the cashier and it’s very patient to explain the plates.Bonus: if you’re from Brazil those plates really remind us of our PFs.“

“It's our 1st time here, we came to celebrate our 36yr wedding anniversary, we definitely came to the right place. The mixed seafood platter was to die for! It was so fresh and flavourful we were amazed how well the seabass, octopus, giant shrimp and cod were cooked to perfection and served with a smile to make sure we had properly transferred the food from plater to dish. We highly recommend Petros, we were super impressed with the quality, quantity and great service. Our go to place to dine.“

“The food here was truly amazing. We had the raw halibut which was similar to a ceviche, the muscles with the salsa which were my favourite, pork and beef skewers, as well as three different salads, the green mint bean salad, the salad with mixed greens, as well as the zucchini salad. We also had the grilled arctic char and the lobster risotto. The risotto portion, I expected to be larger esp as a main, but with all the food we had, we were full.“
