“One of my favorite places currently for a delicious yet casual delivery of high-quality dishes with an exciting selection of Catalan, natural wines. The service is kind, but I find it a bit too pushy at times, repeatedly asking whether we wish to order more. I can understand a tapas menu indeed calling for repeated orders, but I would encourage management to relieve a bit of this pressure and trust their customers will order more as they feel compelled to do so by the overall atmosphere and relaxed mood of the place.“

“There is much to admire on the elegant, well-lit terrace of this natural wine-fueled, Catalan-inspired restaurant. Waitresses wearing plastic face shields as Hassidic men walked by in giant black fur hats created a vibe somewhere between science fiction and shtetl. But it was the creative, lovingly prepared food that I won’t soon forget: charred radishes, rotisserie chicken slow-cooked on a vintage rotisserie oven and grilled octopus with patatas bravas that momentarily transported me to the Spanish coast. All presided over by Lindsay Brennan, one of the best natural wine sommeliers in town.“

“Although all dishes were good, I think the only one which blew me away and I find myself reminiscing about is the buckwheat cake. There is truly something so unique and special with how balanced it is in terms of sweetness, but also its play with textures, and uniqueness compared to other dessert offerings.
The wine selection was also really good. We used the opportunity to sample several wines by the glass. In this regard my highlight was the rosé Chair a Canon from Dunham. Its fruity notes were beautifully blended and smooth.“

“We booked a wine tasting activity for a group with Simon (Agence Primavin) with optional charcuterie and cheese platters. I would highly recommend this activity for a group event, Simon was able to adapt to the needs of the group! The activity took place on the restaurant's interior terrace a little before the restaurant opened. Everything was perfect!“

“So, this review is a little different from most, because people often come to a place one time experience a good thing and drop a positive review. I on the other hand expect consistency and I am a little on the OCD side, especially when I travel. That just means I find the restaurants that I like and I have been known to eat the same meals two days in a row. One of the things that stands out immediately to me is that for the most part you have the same staff working dinner or evening shifts as you do the brunch on Saturday and Sunday. This makes for long days but it produces consistency. Timeliness and courtesy are number one for the ladies on the floor. Attention to detail is critical to the men on the cookline, as each plate comes out as an arrangement of food, not simply a pile of ingredients. I was in Montreal for a conference from Friday to Sunday so I was able to eat 2 dinners and 2 brunches, and I have to say they were quite exceptional. I do give the brunch a slight tip of the cap for being more consistent of the two meals and having the best consistency with the Big Brunch, the Americano, and the fresh squeezed juice. It is probably one of the best breakfast/brunches I have had since Verviers, Brussels in 2019. The Big Brunch consisted of fried sunny side up eggs, a sausage, fried potatoes with hollandaise, cubed fresh tomato, sourdough toast, fresh Americano, and fresh orange and grapefruit juice. The flavors work together to complement each other with the eggs having been lightly peppered by the chef and maybe fried in the salty fat from the sausage to give them the right amount of seasoning. Dinner the first day I had a beer and a ribeye prepared medium rare with pepper seasoning and a brown gravy accompanying the pureed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly. The next night I had the charcutier meat with sourdough, which was a nice assortment of the traditional fare one might find. It would have been nice to have found a smaller plate that include both meat and cheese. I did have a bottle of the California 2020 Elizabeth Spencer Cab and it paired well with everything, sometimes a little fruity and others a little spicy depending on how the notes hit the palette. Dinner was the same as the night before, but although the ribeye was ordered medium rare it came out more to medium. That was a little disappointing, but still satisfying in the end. To finish my meal I had the brownie with pecan crumble and sauce which finished off the bottle of Cab perfectly. This morning I had an amazing brunch again, and now I must say adieu as I head to the airport to return home.“

“Wow! Just wow! Everything we’ve had was impressive! But the highlight was definitely the bisteca fiorentina is just THE BEST MEAT I’ve ever had (and I am Brazilian!!!!!). Melts in your mouth, and the sauce flavor… 😆 the wines are such a treat… thanks to an amazing night!!!“

“After several visits in just one month, I can say that this café is officially one of my favorites in Montreal, especially for studying? The individual tables are large enough to accommodate 2 computers and there are numerous sockets. The place is also very aesthetic with its high ceiling and its shrubs which bring serenity. The entrance is quite discreet, which enhances the experience. I tried the mocha and the pumpkin spice latte as well as the tomato soup and the grilled cheese, everything is very tasty. I can only highly recommend this address!!“

“Cute date spot. Highly recommend going with a reservation. The menu is supposed to constantly change. Classic French with a bit of a twist. Definitely a go to if you like to order a bunch of different small plates to share. Get the dessert. The carrot cake ice cream cake with toffee dripping was amazing. Would go back just to have that again.“

“We just happened upon this place as we ate nearby and we’re looking for a place to have a cocktail before heading home. It turned out to be a great choice as their bartender was very skilled at making cocktails - both the traditional ones as well as the newer trendy ones. The decor was appealing and the vibe both indoors and outdoors was great… on a Tuesday night. Will have to return to try the food.“

“We were passing thru and decided to stop in to an old favorite. Under new ownership since we last went it still is amazing (dare we say better). Served by Lino and team, great arancini, delicious wine and mains of provacanti and manicotti.... We were stuffed and so very satisfied. A perfect reminder of why we miss Montreal's food scene. Do try it, you won't be disappointed. Sorry to miss Savario, hopefully next time. Cheers team well done.“

“Excellent service et bouchées délicieuses à déguster entre ami(e)s. J’ai adoré mon expérience! Ils offrent une grande variété de plats qui se distinguent en saveurs et cuissons. Une belle expérience culinaire accompagnée d’une carte de cocktails rafraîchissants 🍹. Je suis intolérante au gluten et j’ai eu le plaisir d’avoir aucune réaction alimentaire au cours de la soirée et le lendemain matin. (Quel soulagement!) Une rareté dans mes sorties au resto, alors je recommande fortement. Ils prennent au sérieux les gens avec des intolérances alimentaires et les accommodent de leur mieux 🧡 Julien connaît son menu. Alors si vous avez des questions, il prend le temps de vous expliquer la provenance des légumes et même la manière qu’ils sont préparés en cuisine. À essayer comme restaurant de quartier ✨ c’est génial!“

“The service in general was good. We didn't wait too long between our dishes, however we had to ask for the bread and butter. We tested the Montreal menu at the table. The plates were tasty but the portions were small. The menu proposed for Montréal à table did not include dessert. Although it could be added, it would have been a nice addition to incorporate it directly.“
