“There is much to admire on the elegant, well-lit terrace of this natural wine-fueled, Catalan-inspired restaurant. Waitresses wearing plastic face shields as Hassidic men walked by in giant black fur hats created a vibe somewhere between science fiction and shtetl. But it was the creative, lovingly prepared food that I won’t soon forget: charred radishes, rotisserie chicken slow-cooked on a vintage rotisserie oven and grilled octopus with patatas bravas that momentarily transported me to the Spanish coast. All presided over by Lindsay Brennan, one of the best natural wine sommeliers in town.“

“This is easily one of the best meals I have ever had. We went on a busy Saturday night and we were promptly seated as soon as we arrived. Our original server was absolutely lovely and really helped us with the menu. We decided to have the kitchen curate a menu for us with wine pairings which was the BEST decision. We got such an array of dishes and every single one was delicious and every wine accompaniment worked perfectly. We were there for 2 hours and were attended to perfectly by multiple servers who were so knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. The restaurant itself was beautiful, I cannot say enough good things. I can’t wait to go back“

“Really good food and wine! All the dishes were super tasty and dessert was particularly good. Service was friendly although they kept coming to the table a little too often, which is appreciated but felt a little rushed. We unfortunately were seated in the back next to a big party of people and it was impossible to hear each other. Would come back to try again though!“

“my new fav wine bar in montreal. great selection, amazing service, great vibes and reasonable prices. we went on a friday around 5 and it wasn’t too busy but still good energy. later in the night there will be a line / be very busy but it was a nice balance right after work. we got the olives, cheese and i think every red they had on the menu. next time im back in the city ill be coming here for sure.“

“I just had an awesome birthday dinner at Chi Restaurant ! The service was really great—super friendly and attentive. The food blew me away; everything was so delicious and looked amazing. “So, this review is a little different from most, because people often come to a place one time experience a good thing and drop a positive review. I on the other hand expect consistency and I am a little on the OCD side, especially when I travel. That just means I find the restaurants that I like and I have been known to eat the same meals two days in a row. One of the things that stands out immediately to me is that for the most part you have the same staff working dinner or evening shifts as you do the brunch on Saturday and Sunday. This makes for long days but it produces consistency. Timeliness and courtesy are number one for the ladies on the floor. Attention to detail is critical to the men on the cookline, as each plate comes out as an arrangement of food, not simply a pile of ingredients. I was in Montreal for a conference from Friday to Sunday so I was able to eat 2 dinners and 2 brunches, and I have to say they were quite exceptional. I do give the brunch a slight tip of the cap for being more consistent of the two meals and having the best consistency with the Big Brunch, the Americano, and the fresh squeezed juice. It is probably one of the best breakfast/brunches I have had since Verviers, Brussels in 2019. The Big Brunch consisted of fried sunny side up eggs, a sausage, fried potatoes with hollandaise, cubed fresh tomato, sourdough toast, fresh Americano, and fresh orange and grapefruit juice. The flavors work together to complement each other with the eggs having been lightly peppered by the chef and maybe fried in the salty fat from the sausage to give them the right amount of seasoning. Dinner the first day I had a beer and a ribeye prepared medium rare with pepper seasoning and a brown gravy accompanying the pureed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly. The next night I had the charcutier meat with sourdough, which was a nice assortment of the traditional fare one might find. It would have been nice to have found a smaller plate that include both meat and cheese. I did have a bottle of the California 2020 Elizabeth Spencer Cab and it paired well with everything, sometimes a little fruity and others a little spicy depending on how the notes hit the palette. Dinner was the same as the night before, but although the ribeye was ordered medium rare it came out more to medium. That was a little disappointing, but still satisfying in the end. To finish my meal I had the brownie with pecan crumble and sauce which finished off the bottle of Cab perfectly. This morning I had an amazing brunch again, and now I must say adieu as I head to the airport to return home.“

“A solid five stars! ⭐️ The ham was sliced so thin it melted in the mouth (made us wanting to buy a cutting machine). The Shishito peppers (a daily special) were perfectly grilled to perfection. The wines were both funky and delicious. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cool and relaxing. Absolutely nothing to complain, and we can’t wait to visit again!“

“After several visits in just one month, I can say that this café is officially one of my favorites in Montreal, especially for studying? The individual tables are large enough to accommodate 2 computers and there are numerous sockets. The place is also very aesthetic with its high ceiling and its shrubs which bring serenity. The entrance is quite discreet, which enhances the experience. I tried the mocha and the pumpkin spice latte as well as the tomato soup and the grilled cheese, everything is very tasty. I can only highly recommend this address!!“

“The food here was truly amazing. We had the raw halibut which was similar to a ceviche, the muscles with the salsa which were my favourite, pork and beef skewers, as well as three different salads, the green mint bean salad, the salad with mixed greens, as well as the zucchini salad. We also had the grilled arctic char and the lobster risotto. The risotto portion, I expected to be larger esp as a main, but with all the food we had, we were full.“

“We had an amazing experience here, but it was all for the food. Service could have been so much more attentive. Found the items that didn’t have the *spicy note on the menu pretty spicy too, but it was still nice and balanced. The Panang curry with Maitake was lovely and the Thai tea tiramisu instantly became my favourite. Be sure to make a reservation because they can get super busy!“

“Date night with wife. Walked in around midnight on a Friday and was seated right away at the bar. Bartender was super friendly. Made me a few cocktails that were off menu. We ordered the popcorn (crazy good) and the beef tartar (also very good). We had such a good time that we went back the next night and had the popcorn again and tried the kale caesar which was also outstanding. All of the cocktails were excellent on the menu as well. Great spot!!“

“5/5. No complaints at all. Food is amazing. Only gets better and better every time i go and not to mention the service is incredible. Greeted with smiles and the waitresses (our waitresses for the evening were Elizabeth and Sarah) are super nice, often checking in to see if we need anything and overall making sure everything is good. They even personally came to wish me and sing me happy birthday as I was celebrating my birthday. They add to the warm atmosphere of the restaurant. I would 100% recommend La Belle Italiana if you're looking for authentic Italian food.“

“The service in general was good. We didn't wait too long between our dishes, however we had to ask for the bread and butter. We tested the Montreal menu at the table. The plates were tasty but the portions were small. The menu proposed for Montréal à table did not include dessert. Although it could be added, it would have been a nice addition to incorporate it directly.“

House cocktails, Sous Bois and Fleurs du Mal were nicely crafted and well presented.Very relaxed atmosphere on a Monday, wish the music was louder because it wasn't really memorable. One of the sinks was missing soap and lots of graffiti in the washroom. I know they want to support local artists but not really a fan of the works on display which were all the same style.“
