I planned my husband’s 40th birthday, we were a big group and everything went smoothly. The food was delivered hot for everyone and the music and ambiance were really nice.“

We started with the seafood platter, then followed up with the lobster pasta and steak with foil gras. We were unsure what to order for drinks so the staff decided to get us a cocktail based on our preference and offered it to be free if we didn't enjoy the drink. They made sure to get the drinks right, even taking it back to make adjustments based on our taste. This made us feel like a priority.

“We were so excited about our return to the restaurant after having experienced its early days in its previous location. We were not disappointed with the dining in this location. It's a marvel to behold and the 10 course tasting menu was superb. The staff were all attentive and welcoming with sharing their knowledge and experience. Such a delight. For us, we would have done well with only 1 dessert course as it was difficult to finish both and the amount of bread for that course was a bit overwhelming. Everything was tasty, just a bit too much for those courses. As always, we are anxious to share our experience with anyone we know who is travelling to Montreal. Merci😊“

“Everything was as expected for the most part. We had 6:00pm reservations and were 10 mins early, we had requested two seats at the bar which is where we were seated, but were told seats were needed by 7:15? We left at 7:00pm, at a time when the bar was 1/2? empty. We were not inconvenienced, my wife had just flown in from Paris and wanted to get home. However your seating times and reservations don't seem to lineup. Had we wanted to take spend more time, dinner and cocktails it didn't seem as though you could accommodate.“

“My wife and I had a fantastic evening here on Friday. It has a warm atmosphere that made us want to stay much longer than we would have normally. The food was exquisite, and a good value for the quality provided. The wine list was extensive, featuring wines from several French regions, as well as some from Italy, Spain, US, and Canada. The servers were attentive, speaking French and English, and there was a sommelier on staff to help with the wine. The plates weren’t overly large, but we were quite filled after three courses, wine, and an aperitif. We are definitely coming back the next time we’re in town.“

“One of my favorite hotels ever!! Right in the heart of old Montreal, and a short walk to everything that Old Montreal has to offer. It sits on a beautiful cobblestone street, and is in an old, historic building. The rooms were beautiful, with windows that open to let in some great fresh air. I loved their little breakfast, which consisted of different breads each day, spread, cheese, and some cold pressed local juice. Just a top notch experience, and affordable too!“

“Tucked away at the back of a church this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We sat at the chefs table and were able to see all the food being prepared and ask the chefs more details about the food. We had the wine pairing menu which was excellent. Our server was very accommodating as one of the wines was not to our taste and they quickly replaced it with an excellent choice. The flavours in each course were delicious and made want to savour every bite. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant Candide again.“

“This was my first dinner at Restaurant de l'ITHQ and it was even better than I had anticipated! My spouse and I were both absolutely impressed at the food and the service. Our waiter was helpful, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. Every staff member we encountered made it a pleasurable experience. The food was fantastic! We chose not to order appetizers but the kitchen sent us a lovely amuse bouche which was wonderfully complex and layered in flavour and texture. The main courses were likewise masterpieces, perfectly highlighting the local ingredients. My spouse had the catch of the day and it was the best halibut he has had. I had thr duvk magret and it was prepared expertly and served with beautiful presentation. Even the bread paired perfectly. The desserts were perfect, again the best blend of flavours that made each better. We were both delighted to learn that thr pears for the chocolate and Cardamom dessert came from the trees on the terrace. The wine offerings are wonderful and they even offer alcohol free cocktails which taste amazing.“

The sweetbreads were the highlight of the meal, crispy outside and so tender inside that I almost forgot to photograph it before digging in. Our server noticed my camera bag and offered to seat us near the window for better natural light, which honestly made the whole visit feel more personal. Already thinking about going back next weekend to try the tasting menu and get a few more shots of that open kitchen.“

“Stopped by here last weekend with a couple friends and ended up splitting the almond croissant, which was still warm and genuinely one of the best I've had in Montreal. The barista remembered my friend's oat milk order from a previous visit, which felt like a nice small touch. We grabbed the little table by the window around mid afternoon and just sat there for almost two hours chatting without anyone rushing us out. Already planning on bringing more people back next time because the vibe alone is worth it.“
