“Today was me and my wife’s first time going to Olneyville New York System in Providence and we were both in awe while we were there and we kept talking about it how awesome it was after we left. Not only were the wieners excellent but the fries are some of the best we’ve ever had. Gotta get the coffee milk to go with the wieners, it is delicious. Most importantly, I want to give a shoutout to the crew that was working today. You all made us feel so welcome along with being super nice and accommodating to us. All I can say is that we will be back not only for the excellent food but for the atmosphere itself. We’ll be looking forward to seeing you all again. Have a great day !“

“Quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever had, in or outside of a restaurant. I had one of the specials, a Portuguese-style steak, which was cooked perfectly medium-rare. Juicy, smothered in a delectable sauce. The portion was incredible for the price. The service was perfectly paced, the staff were attentive and friendly. I will be coming back, and inviting everyone I can!“

“Had the pasta dish (began w L)and pork chop. Both were excellent. Really trendy atmosphere. Also loved the cheese cake dessert. The only thing was when it costs $13 for a glass of wine, I'd like a good pour. The pours were a bit small. Service was excellent. Pricey but expected this, would definitely go back.“

“The gentleman that greeted us was so kind and welcoming! He had the biggest smile on his face. We came out of town for a bite to eat and had the most amazing Greek fries with feta and oregano. Food came out so fast too. Definitely recommend!“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“Fine dining done right! I can tell how much attention was put into everything we ate. We went w 2 charcuterie meats as an app and I went w the monkfish as a main course. While not an immense amount of food, it was perfect as I’d eaten a couple hours earlier. Regardless, it was delicious- the best part may have been the veggies!

Half chicken and sea bass were also delicious. I haven’t even mentioned service and vibes, which were great.“

“Dined here last night before PPAC, for that reason we made an early dinner reservation. I confirmed when calling they had valet parking. We arrived to find no valet attendant. After some back and forth with hostess and manager my husband was finally able to come inside for dinner, nearly 30 mins wasted. Our server AJ provided exemplarry service; she was personable and knew the menu like the back of her hand. We appreciated her service, and our dinners were all very good. As we departed we confirmed with the tardy valet attendant if we could leave the car and pick up after the show as we do with neighboring establishments and he said no because they would be closed by the time the show was over; this couldn’t have been further from the truth. The valet was rude, late, and it’s terribly unfortunate that the valet ruined what could have been a great dinner with friends.“

The private room was beautiful and decorated so nicely, creating the perfect atmosphere for such a special celebration. It was the perfect mingling space where everyone could comfortably move around, socialize, and enjoy the party together. The food was delicious with beautiful presentation, and there was more than enough for everyone. Our guests kept commenting on how great everything was. The staff was attentive, professional, and helped make the entire event feel seamless and stress free. I highly recommend Blackie’s not only for dinner, but also for special events and celebrations. “This was my first time eating here. Let me start off by saying I had the best scrod I have ever ordered in a restaurant. When the waitress came to take our order I decided on a grilled chicken sandwich. I did not want the fries so I asked to sub a side salad (which I normally do at any place where I order a sandwich, usually a up charge) she said we don't do that but you can have a potato and vegetable. Who would want that with a sandwich! I declined and ordered the scrod. She then asked what kind of soup I wanted (apparently comes with the meal) or you can have a salad. I can sub a salad instead of soup but not for the fries. ODD! The bill comes and I was charged for a side salad. This waitress never said there was a upcharge, which i found odd. I would have paid it anyway. To bad they don't offer something healthier than fries with their sandwiches. This would not be a place I would rush back to.“

“That was a sweetheart thing that was done for me when one of the waitresses did for me when my blood sugar was too low and I was offered a breakfast as that waitress offered to pay for it as I felt awful and cheap. I want to know if the menu has sweet potato benedict on the menu as they all should it is so much healthier for all of us!
