50 Best American Restaurants near Central Falls

“My husband and I go out to breakfast once a week and are very familiar with our local spots. Sparky's has never failed to serve us a traditional mom and pop breakfast. We have always enjoyed it.

We went in today and something was a little different, but in the best way possible.

Same familiar faces and some new ones.

The food had definitely stepped up a few levels. Everything was above my expectations!!

My husband and I both had omelets and even the presentation looked to have an extra level of care.

“Althpugh we joked about this place bing in a gas station our plain Jane folks really enjoyed their burgers and fried chicken, while the tuna/salmon poke bowls and chicken souvlaki were better than most placed that specialize in that cuisine. Keep up the good work.“

“Today was me and my wife’s first time going to Olneyville New York System in Providence and we were both in awe while we were there and we kept talking about it how awesome it was after we left. Not only were the wieners excellent but the fries are some of the best we’ve ever had. Gotta get the coffee milk to go with the wieners, it is delicious. Most importantly, I want to give a shoutout to the crew that was working today. You all made us feel so welcome along with being super nice and accommodating to us. All I can say is that we will be back not only for the excellent food but for the atmosphere itself. We’ll be looking forward to seeing you all again. Have a great day !“

“Had the pasta dish (began w L)and pork chop. Both were excellent. Really trendy atmosphere. Also loved the cheese cake dessert. The only thing was when it costs $13 for a glass of wine, I'd like a good pour. The pours were a bit small. Service was excellent. Pricey but expected this, would definitely go back.“

“Dined here last night before PPAC, for that reason we made an early dinner reservation. I confirmed when calling they had valet parking. We arrived to find no valet attendant. After some back and forth with hostess and manager my husband was finally able to come inside for dinner, nearly 30 mins wasted. Our server AJ provided exemplarry service; she was personable and knew the menu like the back of her hand. We appreciated her service, and our dinners were all very good. As we departed we confirmed with the tardy valet attendant if we could leave the car and pick up after the show as we do with neighboring establishments and he said no because they would be closed by the time the show was over; this couldn’t have been further from the truth. The valet was rude, late, and it’s terribly unfortunate that the valet ruined what could have been a great dinner with friends.“

“Every time I eat here they up the standard for what my new favorite meal is. I don’t like mushrooms so tonight they made the best ribeye I’ve ever had with Shishito peppers instead of mushrooms and it blew my mind. The Baked Alaska is the best dessert I could ever imagine. I’ve been here about a dozen times and they just get better and better.“

“Just came from Palmer River Grille, it's very nice inside and the food was excellent. My wife had a small issue with her meal (no need for details), the managers took care of it no problem, which they don't have to do, so I want to take this opportunity to thank them. Our waiter Derek was awesome! Just want to acknowledge everyone there, the wait staff etc. are very friendly, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and their food. I would recommend them to anyone and for sure we will be back. Thank you!“

“Was there last night with family! Had a great time, yummy food & delicious drinks😉 I had two spicy margaritas 🥵with just the right amount of heat. The brisket melt with the homemade fries that I have to say were the best 🥰. The slaw on the melt was very tasty too😋 All in all the food was very good. Everyone at the table enjoyed what they had!! And the wait staff is wonderful too. They were all so pleasant!“

“We visited Honey Bird back in June. The chicken was outstanding so moist and flavorful. The drinks also did not disappoint, the ingredients blend together so well and zero hang over headache. My 6 year had yummy Mac & cheese with fries.“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“I visit Ivy Tavern everytime I come to Providence, RI. Excellent food and drink, but even more important, to me, are the friendly folks that run the tavern. Because they are always genuinely friendly, treating every customer with kindness, the regulars that frequent the tavern always seem to be more sociable than I normally see in most places. This is a hard to find quality, these days.“

“My daughter and I had our second lunch at Honeybird today. Hat's off to the chef and kitchen staff. The chicken sandwich was delicious and the Collard Greens are to die for. I spent 15 years living in the deep south (Charleston, SC) and the way these collards were prepared blew away anything I've eaten down there. Will be back again!“

“I’ve always loved Blackie’s as a restaurant, but hosting my husband’s surprise 60th birthday party there made me appreciate it even more. Everything about the event was absolutely wonderful. The private room was beautiful and decorated so nicely, creating the perfect atmosphere for such a special celebration. It was the perfect mingling space where everyone could comfortably move around, socialize, and enjoy the party together. The food was delicious with beautiful presentation, and there was more than enough for everyone. Our guests kept commenting on how great everything was. The staff was attentive, professional, and helped make the entire event feel seamless and stress free. I highly recommend Blackie’s not only for dinner, but also for special events and celebrations. After a wonderful meal, my husband paid the bill & we were getting ready to leave when the manager came to our table to ask what was wrong & if we were unhappy w/our server.....'No he was fantastic' we said. Oh! he said, because we didn't leave a tip he thought the waiter had messed up.... suffice it to say.... husband had THOUGHT he left the tip when he paid. Apparently he didn't!!! Talk about being embarrassed!! We gave Jake a little extra in his tip. So, next time you're at Davenports, East Prov. ask for Jake... he's awesome & goes beyond his waitstaff duties.“

“My wife and I went for wedding anniversary, we made reservations. We had to wait about ten minutes to be seated. Our server Aldean, was excellent and prompt and very profession. To be honest, at first I was taken aback on how well he spoke, I suspect he is on the specturm. He is one of the impressive waiter my wife and I ever had. He was polite, cordial and even mixed some old english when speaking to us. We observed him with other guests and we can tell he enjoyed his job and did it well. Very impressed with his service. The food was excellent, we had mozzerra sticks for apps, and it was delicous, i had stuffed chicken and my wife had shrim scampi. All dishes were superb. Since it was our anniversary we got a complimentary dessert and we also had a cheesecake. Both were well made and delicous. We will both be going back to Old grist mill again and put it on our resturant rotation.“

“The 99 is already one of my go to restaurants. This specific one was one of the first places I went to with the now love of my life. But I just want to thank the friendliest (I believe she was a cook) who worked at this specific location (North Attleboro, MA) who had an accent (that’s all I know about her, I wish I got her name) I had to take my baby into the restroom for a diaper change and while I was in there I discovered that an old baby food pouch exploded in the bottom of the diaper bag and covered all of our diapers. My son was all over the place trying to crawl off the counter where I made him sit so I could clean out the bag and throw out all of the rotten apple covered diapers 😭 and I was a mess until this wonderful lady who appeared to be a cook there walked in and offered to hold him for me and just held him there next to me, entertaining him in the mirror, talking to him until my mother in law walked in to check on us. Just wanted to recognize her kindness and make it known how thoughtful she was. “I’ve been there, I know how jt is” she said and in that moment I felt a bit of relief knowing that as a mom we are not alone.“
