“What do I recommend….Absolutely everything ! This is the Italian restaurant experience everyone should have. You’re treated like family. The food is absolutely delicious. Every dish that came to our table looked and tasted like the main ingredient is love. If you are fortunate enough to go when Mama’s stuffed squash flowers are on the specials menu, you better try them. Isabella our waitress was absolutely amazing. This place made me and my family feel like we were regulars. It’s that place. Just go. You’re gonna love it !! 💯❤️“

“Walking in is a vibe on its own, not to many restaurants have that. It almost feels like your not even in Providence anymore.Started off with some apps, i got the Spicy Shrimp( the sauce on the shrimp was very very good!) and the calamari. I personally dipped my calamari in the spicy shrimp sauce but thats a conversation for a different day.Unfortunately i didn’t get to have my drink in a flamingo or a lil piggy but thats ok. The drinks were very good!The Chicken Milanese was a bit too thin (my opinion) but it was good.The steak was cooked to perfection, the mushroom risotto was very very good too. “Bar has a decoy front window to appear like a lingerie/sex shop. No sign on the outside. Sort of an adventure to find it. It's a hidden gem inside. Fancy, ups ale retro style. Incredible drinks and music. Small relaxed environment. Right next to knight library.

“I was a big fan of Bayberry Beer Hall and I'll be honest and say I didn't have big expectations for CRU. However, I've been there several times for dinner and brunch and every time I've come away extremely pleased with my experience. The food is really good, the menu changes seasonally, and hits that sweet spot of having many choices that feel healthy but also delicious. The price is very reasonable for the quality as well. Drinks are great, with some good cocktails and solid beer list. Service has also been great as well.“

“Went to the Foxes Hill neighborhood in Providence to try out a Morroccan spot, but it ended up being closed. Luckily, right around the corner was Aguardente, which is a Guatamalen & Portuguese tapas restaurant. Love the interior decorations and warm welcoming vibe. We started with quejo de cabra, rellenitos, & the minha caiparinha. Then we had the batatas fritas, empanadas de pollos, polvo grelhado, & almondegas. Everything from the service to all of the dishes being seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing.“

“So, last night I needed to have a business meeting with a business partner that wanted to stay out of downtown after working all day in the city. We chose Hangry Kitchen, just 6 minutes from downtown. So much that I could say about the meal. But I will summarize it. I asked if I could get a side of tomato juice for my beer. (Yeah beer and tomato juice is amazing). They did not have any canned or bottled tomato juice. THEY JUICED SOME TOMATOS! The rest of the meal was just as memorable. “Got an order to go. Everything was so fresh. Best Guac & Salsa ever! The veggie Burrito was huge and so fresh & delicious! The fish tacos that my friend ordered was the best she has ever had! Even ordered margaritas to go & they gave us a full bag of ice & freshly made margarita’s that they poured in a bottle! This place is a hidden gem! Sometimes these hidden gems that seem to be a “hole in the wall” are the absolute best! This is one of those places! Definitely recommend!“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“After riding bikes over the Henderson Bridge from Providence, we stopped in for lunch. There wasn’t a bike rack, but there was a long fence next to the parking lot that made locking up the bikes easy.

We each ordered the blue plate, which looking around the restaurant, seems to be a popular choice among diners. The server allowed us to substitute tenders in place of the fried thigh and drumstick for the blue plate. I ordered my tenders with the honey Cholula flavor and blue cheese sauce. My partner ordered the Nashville hot flavor with truffle mayo. Both were great, but I’d recommend ordering the Nashville hot or Spicy flavors with blue cheese in retrospect.

For sides, we tried the collard greens, cheesy cheddar grits, corn bread with honey butter, and pulled pork baked beans. All were very good. The cornbread was a good choice because it can serve as a dessert at the end of the meal. The grits and baked beans were both excellent as spreads in the Texas toast that comes with the blue plate. If you order the collard greens, note that it has a pretty intense (almost smoky) flavor and lots of bacon, so be sure that you like both. The creamed corn sweet potato tater tots were popular choices among other customers while we were there.

This is the perfect restaurant if you’re in the mood for fried chicken and Southern food. Bring your appetite because the food is filling; I was glad to hop back on our bikes and do some more exercise after lunch!“

“My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Patio on Broadway in Providence, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The atmosphere is vibrant yet welcoming, with a modern touch that makes it perfect for a casual brunch with friends or a fun dinner out. The food here is outstanding, blending creative twists with-classic comfort dishes. I had the lobster roll, which was packed with fresh, succulent lobster and served on a perfectly toasted bun. My boyfriend had the bolognese which he said was hands down the best he’s had! The service was top-notch too; the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our experience great. “Dined here last night before PPAC, for that reason we made an early dinner reservation. I confirmed when calling they had valet parking. We arrived to find no valet attendant. After some back and forth with hostess and manager my husband was finally able to come inside for dinner, nearly 30 mins wasted. Our server AJ provided exemplarry service; she was personable and knew the menu like the back of her hand. We appreciated her service, and our dinners were all very good. As we departed we confirmed with the tardy valet attendant if we could leave the car and pick up after the show as we do with neighboring establishments and he said no because they would be closed by the time the show was over; this couldn’t have been further from the truth. The valet was rude, late, and it’s terribly unfortunate that the valet ruined what could have been a great dinner with friends.“

“Just tried this charming spot on Thursday and have fallen in love with the drinks, atmosphere, and service. The location is prime (right on South Main) and the inside is cozy, full of character, and gives off speakeasy vibes. The woman who welcomed and served us was more than willing to answer any questions about the drink menu, which had the perfect mix of cocktails (ranging from fruity to herbal and beyond), beer and wine. We ordered the Limoncello Spritz and punch — both tasted AMAZING, plus were poured into pretty glassware (aka making this place a hotspot for IG-worthy pics, which our hostess also advised us on regarding best lighting!). All in all, The Walnut Room is PVD’s newest gem and offers stunning, safe (remember: wear your mask!) service and space, which makes these not-so-normal times feel pretty special. “It's great to see the Xo Bar open again! It was always one of our top lounges to go to back in the early 2000s! Now its even better with the new hang out lounge area! It's so hard to find a nice place with cozy couches in RI. It has a great set up and friendly service! We will be back!!“
