“I’ve always loved Blackie’s as a restaurant, but hosting my husband’s surprise 60th birthday party there made me appreciate it even more. Everything about the event was absolutely wonderful. The private room was beautiful and decorated so nicely, creating the perfect atmosphere for such a special celebration. It was the perfect mingling space where everyone could comfortably move around, socialize, and enjoy the party together. The food was delicious with beautiful presentation, and there was more than enough for everyone. Our guests kept commenting on how great everything was. The staff was attentive, professional, and helped make the entire event feel seamless and stress free. I highly recommend Blackie’s not only for dinner, but also for special events and celebrations. “There is never a dull moment at the tavern. I’ve been frequenting this place for over 10 years at this point. They have an incredible blues jam on Sundays with the hottest house band in town. It’s been going on for nearly 20 years. A good friend of mine hosts the open mic on Thursday nights, and they have a great format you can play as a solo artist or you can do an open jam. They have a very affordable wing special on Wednesdays. The atmosphere is lively and fun. I’ve made friends with some of the regulars. Some of them have been coming to the same bar for 50 years. The owner Robyn is very friendly and hard-working. Her whole family is invested in the business and I really appreciate that, having worked in the service industry for a long time. What are you waiting for? Go down to the roadhouse!“

“Our family just recently hosted a private event here, and The Last Resort Restaurant and Bar far exceeded our expectations. The staff was refreshingly attentive, and incredibly accommodating. The dining space was perfect for our group. Every dish was fresh and beautifully presented.

“Ordered the Juevos Rancheros. The sauce was EXCELLENT, the cotija cheese was EXCELLENT, the beans were EXCELLENT, and the corn tortillas were the BEST Ive ever had! Pretty sure they were homemade. The only issue I had was the tortillas were on a side dish where Im used to having the eggs, beans, sauce etc on top of the tortillas! Still excellent!
Also came with plantains which were very good, Im just not the biggest fan of them.“

The food was amazing, service was impeccable and setting up the party with the owner was great. Excellent open communication, easy to work with on details. If you know me, I have a tough time letting go of the reins when planning an event with setting up decor and whatnot and the staff was absolutely incredible and made my vision come to life. I cannot say enough about having your event at Merola's. You will be so pleased with everything. I will definitely use them again for events.“

Obviously a local favorite, this smallish cafe is quite busy but there was no wait when I arrived at 11am on a Thursday. Breakfast menu is traditional: omelets, Benedicts, pancakes, waffles and breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the Hungry Man with eggs, ham, potatoes, toast and pancakes. Plenty to take home for tomorrow. Service was quick, perhaps a bit too quick as the eggs, ordered over easy, were slightly underdone. There was a large slice of tasty ham and 2 large pancakes. Overall a good meal at a good price.“

“A friend and I drove by and said let's give Home Fries Restaurant a try. I ordered an egg sandwich on a croissant, and it came with home fries. The home fries were seasoned perfectly and had a great taste. The croissant was super fresh and soft, and the egg was cooked perfectly. All of the waitresses were very friendly and worked very well together. I would recommend this place to my family & friends!

Parking: We arrived there around 9:30 am and the parking lot was not crowded. We were able to get a spot right in front of the building.“
