“We finished a five day trip to Greenville by having dinner at Soby's. It was packed on a Friday night serving up their "reimagined" Southern Fare. Ordinarily, I would dive in and tell you about all the great food, instead I want to give props to the two line cooks working the Grill and Sautée stations in the kitchen. Our table on the second level looked right down the back (cooking) line. If you've watched The Bear television series you get to see a dramatized version of how a commercial kitchen operates. At Soby's we saw these two guys in action. A nine-steak order at four different temps, no problem. They mowed through an average of 9-10 tickets on the "rail" all night with God knows how many orders per ticket. Great job. Great job indeed! We started our dinner with the Mussles Mariniere sautéed in a bacon, leeks, Manzanilla sherry, cream. So good. I wish the chef would serve four pieces of toast with the dish so you could soak up more of the sauce. I had to try the She Crab Soup, as it is one of my favorites, and Soby's version with aged sherry bowled me over. For our entrees, our server suggested a combination of half portions of their Shrimp and Grits and Crab Cakes. Apparently my wife is not the only one who couldn't decide between the two, and thus a special was born. The crab cakes had a sweet corn maque choux and were served with haricots verts and a mashed potatoes, remoulade. From words on a menu to executed perfection it was a perfect blend of flavors. The shrimp and grits were good, not the best we have ever had, but again perfectly prepared. My entrée was the Braised Beef Short Rib served with mashed potatoes and a Black Garlic Molasses Jus. I watched my dudes on the line make over 20 of these before mine arrived at the table. Fork-tender, the meat had a great depth of flavor from its long journey of preparation. I ate every bite, OK except for the payback bites to my wife for sampling her special. We finished dinner with a piece of their Limoncello Cheese cake followed espressos and Ameretto. Our waitress was perfect all evening. She had a very busy section, but kept the coursing of dinner moving in a relaxed pace. We never felt rushed. Before I end, a word about wine at Soby's. When you arrive at the table, you are given a wine tome. Not a sheet of paper or a wine list you are used to seeing in most establishments. This was a tomb, bound in a metal cover. Soby's owner is a vinophile and has amassed over 2500 wines on the list, that is always changing as choices are enjoyed and more added. It really is quite a stunning list. So get you some Soby's if you're in town. It was a wonderful experience. You too can enjoy food bliss“

“i was staying near by and not from the area. was trying to go to the thai place a few doors down but it closed for lunch or something, so i went here. place looked actually japanese and some of the staff probably really were japanese which is a rarity. like "kimono mom" level of traditional politeness. i got the miso ramen, it was huge in bowl and broth portion but lacking a little in the pork. however, it did fall apart and was tender and flavorful. at least i got a whole egg, which is not a given anymore. price was fantastic as i'm used to paying 15 or 16 for ramen, so 12 was a shock. service was on point, wasn't in my face all the time but refilled my drink and got my check like they were paying attention which i appreciate. will definitely repeat. i saw others complain about reservations and i might have lucked out since there was no wait (late lunch), line or stress. the bathroom was clean. the only thing that sort of ruined the meal was the booth next to mine was a couple that used profanity every 8th word, around several tables of children and have no concept of an indoor voice. it was like a shouting match of who could impress the other in obnoxiousness. kudos.“

“The atmosphere is classic Italian, small space so get there early or wait for the second wave. The food is amazing, due to the controlled small seating - which I personally prefer!! the staff is entertaining and spot on with service. It’s just all around a wonderful Italian experience and the price is right!! We are going again this Wednesday night 😊“

“The ribs here are insanely delicious. I had the dry rub as recommended by Kimberly, who was incredible to us. She had great recommendations for food and beer and was very hard working and attentive to all the customers including us. I have not been in town in a few years and never went to Sticky Fingers before, but I will be sure to find an excuse to come here for Kimberly and also for those ribs.“

“WOW! What a WONDERFUL restaurant in downtown Greenville!! My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal last night. We started with the lobster bisque and an order of hushpuppies which were both great. The crawfish etouffee and redfish stir fry entrees were generous portions and the beignets were the perfect ending after a fabulous meal. I loved that the waitress had a good concept of the menu to recommend my dish and she gave us a sample of the bisque before we ordered. The chef came by to see if everything was good. “There were three of us in town last week for the women’s SEC tournament. We saw this as we were driving into town and it was close to our Airbnb. We went there for dinner the first night and had yummy pizza. We ended up eating here five out of the six days we were there! Everything we had was delicious, there’s such a variety we didn’t feel like we were eating the same thing twice (except for when each of us chose the Kentucky Bourbon Burger twice because it was so good!). All three servers we had were fantastic, Amari, Ruqayyah, and Kaitlyn, and we felt like regulars when they recognized us. Will definitely return when I visit Greenville again! “We were recommended to this place. The location is slightly tricky since the building is set back further away from the road. We were greeted and indecisive about what to get. The lady at the counter provided details and ordered at the counter. The chicken quesadilla was very good, and the tenderloin with chimichurri sauce was very good, too. The rice had a good taste. Two things prevented me from providing all stars...(1) asking for a tip which we had to order at the counter and no follow up to inquire how we're doing, and (2) the cost is steep what you get in portion size. The quality is superb, but the quantity lacks. If the two things are irrelevant for anyone, I highly recommend.

“Can’t say enough good things about the yard house. We ate here yesterday 12/5/24 around 1145am and the food was delicious. We had a server that was attentive to our needs. We ordered the four cheese spinach dip for an appetizer and I had ordered the Korean ribeye for my meal. It was really good, especially the fires that come with it. “Some places look to reach a certain standard others set them. Stax Omega Diner absolutely sets the standards!

They have great food and great service. I love all the desserts and, my personal favorite, the coffee bar. I always get a hazelnut cappuccino with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon. I am a coffee fanatic and this coffee is fantastically good. PS It pairs well with the Tiramaseu that I order before my meal.

The service is also excellent. Always happy friendly and helpful. They are also attentive with checking in and topping off drinks. Mind you when they're swamped it may not be as fast as usual but that's to be expected.

If you and your family decide to eat here you won't be disappointed. I am a proud return customer and if I lived a bit closer I'd be a regular... which is probably for the best since spending my paycheck here would be worth every penny.
