“One of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The atmosphere is wonderful. We started with an appetizer of the thick cut bacon which was to die for. Followed up by the New York Strip which was cooked to perfection, and possibly the most flavorful steak I’d ever eaten. We usually do not get desert, but everything so far was so delicious that we could not pass it up. We tried the white chocolate banana cream pie and the butter cake, and an espresso martini. OMG is all I can think to say. Stefan was our waiter, and he was amazing with his detailed descriptions and recommendations. We will definitely be back, and will hopefully be waited on by Stefan again.“

“We finished a five day trip to Greenville by having dinner at Soby's. It was packed on a Friday night serving up their "reimagined" Southern Fare. Ordinarily, I would dive in and tell you about all the great food, instead I want to give props to the two line cooks working the Grill and Sautée stations in the kitchen. Our table on the second level looked right down the back (cooking) line. If you've watched The Bear television series you get to see a dramatized version of how a commercial kitchen operates. At Soby's we saw these two guys in action. A nine-steak order at four different temps, no problem. They mowed through an average of 9-10 tickets on the "rail" all night with God knows how many orders per ticket. Great job. Great job indeed! We started our dinner with the Mussles Mariniere sautéed in a bacon, leeks, Manzanilla sherry, cream. So good. I wish the chef would serve four pieces of toast with the dish so you could soak up more of the sauce. I had to try the She Crab Soup, as it is one of my favorites, and Soby's version with aged sherry bowled me over. For our entrees, our server suggested a combination of half portions of their Shrimp and Grits and Crab Cakes. Apparently my wife is not the only one who couldn't decide between the two, and thus a special was born. The crab cakes had a sweet corn maque choux and were served with haricots verts and a mashed potatoes, remoulade. From words on a menu to executed perfection it was a perfect blend of flavors. The shrimp and grits were good, not the best we have ever had, but again perfectly prepared. My entrée was the Braised Beef Short Rib served with mashed potatoes and a Black Garlic Molasses Jus. I watched my dudes on the line make over 20 of these before mine arrived at the table. Fork-tender, the meat had a great depth of flavor from its long journey of preparation. I ate every bite, OK except for the payback bites to my wife for sampling her special. We finished dinner with a piece of their Limoncello Cheese cake followed espressos and Ameretto. Our waitress was perfect all evening. She had a very busy section, but kept the coursing of dinner moving in a relaxed pace. We never felt rushed. Before I end, a word about wine at Soby's. When you arrive at the table, you are given a wine tome. Not a sheet of paper or a wine list you are used to seeing in most establishments. This was a tomb, bound in a metal cover. Soby's owner is a vinophile and has amassed over 2500 wines on the list, that is always changing as choices are enjoyed and more added. It really is quite a stunning list. So get you some Soby's if you're in town. It was a wonderful experience. You too can enjoy food bliss“

“We got food at Papi’s Tacos tonight on River St tonight and it was amazing. We came by and ordered when we started our walk. I told her what we were doing and how long we’d be gone. It was hot and ready when we came back. The food was fresh and authentic. I wish there was one in Columbia. The customer service was perfect. Highly recommend!“

“i was staying near by and not from the area. was trying to go to the thai place a few doors down but it closed for lunch or something, so i went here. place looked actually japanese and some of the staff probably really were japanese which is a rarity. like "kimono mom" level of traditional politeness. i got the miso ramen, it was huge in bowl and broth portion but lacking a little in the pork. however, it did fall apart and was tender and flavorful. at least i got a whole egg, which is not a given anymore. price was fantastic as i'm used to paying 15 or 16 for ramen, so 12 was a shock. service was on point, wasn't in my face all the time but refilled my drink and got my check like they were paying attention which i appreciate. will definitely repeat. i saw others complain about reservations and i might have lucked out since there was no wait (late lunch), line or stress. the bathroom was clean. the only thing that sort of ruined the meal was the booth next to mine was a couple that used profanity every 8th word, around several tables of children and have no concept of an indoor voice. it was like a shouting match of who could impress the other in obnoxiousness. kudos.“

“WOW! What a WONDERFUL restaurant in downtown Greenville!! My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal last night. We started with the lobster bisque and an order of hushpuppies which were both great. The crawfish etouffee and redfish stir fry entrees were generous portions and the beignets were the perfect ending after a fabulous meal. I loved that the waitress had a good concept of the menu to recommend my dish and she gave us a sample of the bisque before we ordered. The chef came by to see if everything was good. We WILL be back!“

“There were three of us in town last week for the women’s SEC tournament. We saw this as we were driving into town and it was close to our Airbnb. We went there for dinner the first night and had yummy pizza. We ended up eating here five out of the six days we were there! Everything we had was delicious, there’s such a variety we didn’t feel like we were eating the same thing twice (except for when each of us chose the Kentucky Bourbon Burger twice because it was so good!). All three servers we had were fantastic, Amari, Ruqayyah, and Kaitlyn, and we felt like regulars when they recognized us. Will definitely return when I visit Greenville again! “Food was great. Service was subpar. I’m not sure if they are under staffed, but we called a to-go order and was told an hour wait. Seemed reasonable for a Sunday afternoon. Get there and my order “got lost”. Fast forward 30 minutes and I watched 4 tables have to get up and find their server to get their check. Servers seem busy, just not attending to the customers. Will probably stick to my usual pizza joints.“

“Can’t say enough good things about the yard house. We ate here yesterday 12/5/24 around 1145am and the food was delicious. We had a server that was attentive to our needs. We ordered the four cheese spinach dip for an appetizer and I had ordered the Korean ribeye for my meal. It was really good, especially the fires that come with it. “Some places look to reach a certain standard others set them. Stax Omega Diner absolutely sets the standards!

They have great food and great service. I love all the desserts and, my personal favorite, the coffee bar. I always get a hazelnut cappuccino with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon. I am a coffee fanatic and this coffee is fantastically good. PS It pairs well with the Tiramaseu that I order before my meal.

The service is also excellent. Always happy friendly and helpful. They are also attentive with checking in and topping off drinks. Mind you when they're swamped it may not be as fast as usual but that's to be expected.

If you and your family decide to eat here you won't be disappointed. I am a proud return customer and if I lived a bit closer I'd be a regular... which is probably for the best since spending my paycheck here would be worth every penny.
