“We recently visited Charleston and forgot to make dinner reservations, that’s when we happed on to The Royal Tern. Despite no reservations, they gladly seated us at a great table. The food was exquisite, everything from the Raw Bar, the fried shrimp, to the halibut. The halibut was prepared perfectly and was so unique; the ingredients worked together in delicious synergy. My cocktail was on-point, too. As a home cook, being able to watch the chefs prepare the meals was fascinating. Mad respect for their craft. Met one of the owners as he was making his rounds in the dining room, and he was a lovely person. He even printed a map w/shortcuts for us since traffic is so bad in the Charleston area. Highly recommend, will definitely be back next time we’re in town.“

A friend that we met recently is from up north and told us to try . Today we stopped in and thank GOD we did!! Literally our prayers have been answered. Soft bread , delicious meat , melty cheese. Authentic Philly food! We got a cheesesteak , Italian hoagie and turkey hoagie. “Food was delicious. But when I returned home with my son to eat the delivered dinner, there was no Parmasian cheese or red peppers. I understand all the big namers not supplying Parmasian and peppers but when you spend 70 bucks on 2 pizzas, it seems a little unreal that it was not given. Food was great but would have probably been better with the basics.“

Employees are great, too. I've eaten here for over a decade (yeah I'm an oldie) and I don't think I've ever been disappointed.
And one suggestion: their Japanese menu is very good, too.“
