“I Recently moved to North Augusta. A friend from Savannah called to tell me about McNeelys Place. What a treat my first visit was. Homemade Chicken Pie, collard greens, wonderful Mac and cheese and good cornbread. Even the tea was great. I felt like I had stepped back in time and was eating at my Mothers table. The dining rooms were attractive and spotlessly clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. We met the cook who was delightful in addition to being talented. I brought home a box of delicious vegetables. Already planning my next visit.“

“Great Price 2 can eat with drinks for under $32 with $4 tip tossed in. Great Wait staff with only 1 exception. A taller, heavy set, black hair waitress. Angie is a great Mgr, and handles issues quickly. Lately, the food has been hit or miss. Too many times, the Country Fried steak has been burnt black in places and dried out. Great dinner rolls. Very good Peach Cobbler. Very Good Chicken wings, shrimp/fish pieces when the pans are refilled. Average Fried pork chops Meat buffet items seem to be getting slower to be refilled. Desserts: Cakes, puddings and a freezer full of Ice Cream cups. We eat there mybe about once a month now, where it use to be once a week.“

“My Husband and I are frequent guests and love it here!
James was our waiter tonight and was phenomenal! He was intentional, personable and professional. He made excellent recommendations (especially the wine) and was an absolute joy and made our visit tonight wonderful.
The ladies at the host stand are also very welcoming and warm. We always feel so appreciated and happy when we walk through the door.
Annaclaire, the manager, is a fantastic manager and is always so kind and efficient no matter what is going on! We can tell the support she gives to the staff and to her customers in every interaction.

The entire staff at Abel brown is incredible and I cannot stress enough how much we love it here! And the food is amazing- the Oysters are the best I have ever had.

“Atmosphere was a vibe. Music was way too loud though for the amount of us that was in there, but the cashier was absolutely amazing. She was very sweet and kind and really took care of us. I was confused on my order and she fixed it with no issues no judgment or attitude. I need this everywhere I go.“

“I made it all the way from KC to eat here and it did not disappoint!! I had fried green tomatoes with a cup of Apple tomato soup & seafood bisque - because how can you choose?? They also come with what I calll crackified saltines - butter and herby embellished. Several good beers on tap that are not the usual and very delicious. And then there’s the dessert- luckily you can get a half slice of cake! I tried chocolate perfection (well named) and the hummingbird (deliciously cinnamony) Casual Southern atmosphere makes it easy to enjoy the food. The icing on the cake was my dreamy server, Zach. Excellent friendly service with a smile that was spot on! What a kick off to my trip 😋“

“First time dining here, came on 5/9/26. I brought my friends here for Mother’s Day, I’m glad it wasn’t on mother’s day(too expensive). We were greeted by the beautiful hostess and we were sat immediately. I ordered the short rib Mac n cheese with greens with turkey. My friends ordered pancakes, French toast with fruit and waffle and chicken salad. They enjoyed their food as did I. The short rib pieces were burnt but still good. The greens were so yummy but in my opinion not enough for the plate. The Mac n cheese was soooooo good, it was just under the salamander a little too long, it too was burnt but not too bad where I could taste it. I give it a 9.5/10 and a total recommend. The prices were foot for the brunch.“

“I knew I was in for an experience when i walked in and was greeted with a hug! We ordered the shrimp and fish. It was amazing. We took ours home but wish we would have eaten there. It was so festive and was decorated in martigra style. Highly recommend you don’t miss out on this jewel!“

“My favorite BBQ place! Gluten free buns available, thick fries, brisket always has a yummy caramelized crust. The grape lemonade is original and amazing. Customer service is always outstanding; very hospitable and every visit someone checks on us to see if we are enjoying ourselves.“

“Wife Saver has some of my absolute favorite chicken tenders. The batter is delicious. I also love their fried okra, hush puppies, and cornbread. For dessert, the banana pudding is a must. For good-ol Southern comfort food, head to this place and enjoy. The atmosphere is a bit dated, but the food and service are always great.“

“My uncle told my mother and I about the place so we decided to go. I can't eat spicy foods and everything I tried was great and flavored just perfect. I got so much on my plate I ate two times on it. My mother and I took my sister and she loved it also. We have decided not to cook for new years so we are hoping they will be opened New Year so we can go there.“

“I went there for the first time today and I got the Salmon with potatoes, OMG, it was absolutely delicious, best I have had. The staff was professional and kind and made sure to check on us several times. If I could give them 100 stars I would!“

“I am usually there every Thursday. I always love talking to the lady's inside and shoot the breeze with the brothers outside! Great laid back and quiet atmosphere... I usually get the pulled pork, hash and rice with Mac and cheese. It NEVER fails that it is better each time. As a matter of fact, I am on my way now.“

“I love Cheddar Scratch Kitchen! We have several up north. The honey croissants are amazing and a must have if you are stopping in or eating out. The southern fried chicken was an amazing deal. For $3 extra you got an entire second chicken breast. Only issue is the curbside pickup is not connected to the text you receive when order like all other major restaurant chains.“
