“OMG! I was high on how good the food was. Asian / Southern fusion done soooo well… lots of great restaurants around, but this was one those rare dining experiences where every bite I tried was a new and unique flavor experience that both delighted and surprised me! I can’t tell you the last time I enjoyed a new restaurant more than I enjoyed this tonight. ☺️🤤🍴🍛 And after letting the staff know how very much I enjoyed the food, I was pleasantly NOT surprised to learn the owner is currently a finalist on Top Chef and the tv show City Eats was just here earlier this week to feature them on their show. I’ve rarely left a restaurant feeling actual gratitude over the fact they exist.“

“I went here for a 🥓 bacon cheeseburger 🍔 and really enjoyed it. I also got 🍟 and a drink for less than $20. If you get a basket, they throw in two onion 🧅 rings. This is not full table service. You place and pay for your order up front and wait to be called. Not the friendly type, but they get the job done.“

“Willie Jewell‘s BarBQ on University Boulevard is our go-to place for barbecue! We love dining in or getting carry-out. All the meats are excellent AND the sides are flavorful and quite varied, including daily special sides. The portions are generous and one of my favorite things about dining in is that all the sauces are WARM and available in a large pump dispenser. It’s always sad to me to put cold sauce on warm meat … that never happens at Willie Jewell‘s BarBQ on University Boulevard! The restaurant has an old-fashioned and lighthearted atmosphere and the staff are pleasant and efficient.“

“Great service from Destiny! She noticed us looking around because we had t yet been waited on. She came over introduced herself and made our dinner experience a pleasure. My out of town visitor had a really good experience and meal. We really appreciated her pleasent positive attitude. The food was really good we will return.“

“The grill cook needs to know the difference between medium and medium rare. The manager needs to know that taking 2.00 of the 90.00 bill for a steak that wasnt cooked right is poor judgements. Sometimes we cant wait for a steak to be refired as after dinner plans are set and can't be moved around. The service was excellent and tip reflected that. I will come back because their overall record is good.“

“I love love LOVE L&L…. I grew up in Hawaii and haven’t been there in a long time. So it made me happy when this one popped up in Charleston! I’ve had their kalua pig plate, however tonight, I got the “lighter garlic shrimp” plate since I’ve been on a healthy journey and tryin to make better choices. And I’m sad to say I was very disappointed with my order 😩 the shrimp was not prepared at all how I remember and the shrimp was very over cooked. The plate also said it had brown rice, and I got white. I love this restaurant and I still recommend it to everyone. But I do think they need to work on their shrimp plate a little.“

“If y’all need a good southern home cooked meal this is the place to go! We got a meat, veg, and rice plate this perfectly hit the spot! The green beans were delicious and the pot roast I had was so flavorful! I also decided to get a strawberry shortcake cup which was so good I didn’t even get to take a photo!“
