“We were in Charleston for work at the Clemson Research Center. This place was recommended by a coworker that visited often. It was promoted as real British fish and chips food. They only serve meat pies and fish and chips. That's it. GO. It's the best fish and chips I've had since visiting London. The World Famous is a full pound of fried COD. SSOOOO GOOOD!!!“

“Pretty Good Late night Nosh spot!
We kinda got stranded heading back from some little out of the way little town called McBee, we were driving around looking for an open Pho place (really looking for some good Asian fried wings) when this one jumped out at us - the NAME first of All!!
I called first, we ordered (at 25 minutes before closing time!) two Combo Pho and one order of shrimp spring rolls. I had called twice actually but failed to place the order because the employee didn't even know the address and could not confirm that I was calling the correct location. Good thing I called back!! ‍
So once we got there and we walk in - hey! this place is super Kitch!
Trendy lil spot, lots of lil booths run the length of the shop, with a couple of larger ones up front, they have these super cool painted ceramic Modern Chic Ceramic Teddy Bears all lined up behind the register - high up on the wall. KAWAII!!
So when I DID get the order in and we got to the place they were pretty quick. They had quite a few orders going out when we got there matter of fact! We were there til about five minutes to close and they had five or six orders waiting to be picked up!!
When we got our food back to the hotel the broth was still piping Hot! The combo bowl comes with rare beef, tendon, tripe, meatballs, and brisket. And then you also get cilantro, jalapeño slices, basil, lime, and bean sprouts. Along with some hoisin sauce and sriracha sauce. I always also add in fish sauce, which I asked the guy for when I called, but noticed was not included when we got back to the hotel 😣
Their broth is AH-Mazing!!! You can Taste the hint of Star Anise - which I always love - in the background, they add the onions to the broth so that you don't get that raw onion flavor and, they will already be cooked and soft; as well as green onions. Adding it to the other ingredients and you have the perfect mix of YUM!!! The broth is beefy, spicy, just a bit of cinnamon hints and oniony background. The slices of beef are tender and delicate, the tripe is super gristly and delicious, the tendon is gelatinous and full of rich beef flavor and the veggies are exceptionally fresh and wonderful. Best part though is the noodles are NOT over cooked. They were cooked with still a little bite to them. They were even still firm when I ate the rest in the morning!!

It’s just that it’s 25 minutes away and I am not a young chick anymore and it’s been a while since I’ve been to the restaurant and my friend went there the other day for a birthday‼️ Genaros is an authentic Italian restaurant and to me that is the best‼️ I sure wish they would open up a restaurant in Goose Creek! it is filled with Mexican restaurants and really needs a good Italian restaurant for all of us Crowfield plantation residences that would enjoy fine food‼️ I speak the truth‼️?“

“This place is absolutely incredible every single time! The jerk chicken is on another level, hands down some of the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I’m pretty sure they smoke it, because the flavor is unreal. The sides are just as amazing: the macaroni and cheese is 🤌, the plantains are perfectly cooked, the rice and peas are phenomenal, and even the steamed vegetables are delicious.

I’ve only ordered through DoorDash and never actually been inside the restaurant, but the food always comes fresh, hot, and perfect. Never missing items. Please never take it off DoorDash – it’s that good. This is easily one of my favorite spots ever.

Side note: would be awesome to add an extra sauce option on door dash, 2oz or 4oz portions, whatever works for y’all… jerk sauce / curry sauce / etc. That’d be rad :))“

“What a wonderful stay we had at the North Charleston Marriott!! Jessica at the front desk is absolutely incredible!! She was very sweet, professional and accommodating to all the guests…a true gem! Housekeeping also did a great job and we love that they even offer housekeeping since some hotels don’t in these post-Covid days. This hotel is in a great location, just off I-26, close to the outlet stores and restaurants, but far enough away from all the traffic in that area. Our room was a King Junior Suite and it was very spacious, with one and a half bathrooms, and a comfortable couch. Not a lot of drawer storage for clothes (2 small drawers in the desk & 1 under the safe), but there was plenty of room to hang clothes to the left of the closet, so it all worked out. You can also hang some things in the small armoire/closet, but the items hang front to back, so it’s a little difficult to access things. The safe was plenty roomy and the bath and bed linens were nice. The bed is softer than our bed at home, but we both slept pretty well. We loved the walk-in shower and the water pressure and temperature were truly great! The bathrooms had built-in night lights behind the mirrors and the bed had this really cool ambient lighting above/behind the headboard that could be turned on or off. Lots of extra seating in this room with several chairs and the L shaped couch. The tv selection was just “ok”, in part because several of the channels, such as HGTV, did not come in. The wifi worked well at times, but no so well at other times. The AC worked well and there were plenty of places to charge your electronic devices. We ate dinner at the restaurant and Kelly & Becca were our severs on different nights. The food at the restaurant, HC Provisions, was excellent!! We had the wings, the chicken and waffles, the Caesar salad and the housemaid chips and they were all excellent! This hotel seems to be a popular venue for events. There was one going on Saturday night and we noticed several business functions going on during our stay as well. Crystal and Sheila were in the M Club Lounge at breakfast time and they were both great and did a great job of keeping everything well stocked. The breakfast offered scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, yogurt, cereal, muffins and pastries, hot oatmeal and biscuits and gravy till 10am. During the rest of the day, you could pop in for coffee, water, sodas and juices as well as snacks such as chips and cookies. The evening offered hors d’oeuvres but the one night (Monday) we arrived at 7:20pm, everything was already being cleaned up, so I guess we missed it. The outdoor area offered a pool and two fire pit areas which would be great to sit and catch up with friends and family if you were here with a small group. We had such a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again.“

Super cozy and chill—great for hanging out with friends or bringing the fam. They’ve got big tables too, so it’s perfect for groups.

🍕 The Pizza:
We got a large pizza split between Holy Shiitake and Great White. Both were really good! The edge was thick and super tasty. We were definitely happy with our choice.

It usually takes about 20 minutes to get the pizza, no matter which location I go to. The staff is always friendly and nice.

“I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Firefly Distillery, and though it started with a bit of a hiccup due to a scheduling miscommunication with our tasting appointment, it quickly turned into an unforgettable experience thanks to the incredible team on-site.

Upon arrival, we were disappointed to learn that our scheduled tasting had ended earlier than expected. However, Ms. Corday B. and Ms. Trisha N. immediately stepped in and went above and beyond to turn the situation around. They were extremely apologetic and genuinely concerned, taking the time to give us a private tasting experience that completely blew us away. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were phenomenal—they truly embody top-tier guest service.

A special shoutout also goes to Bartender Gregg, who made our visit even more memorable. He was kind, funny, and exceptionally professional. We even tried to tip him for his outstanding service, but he respectfully declined, saying he just wanted to ensure my birthday was perfect. That gesture alone speaks volumes about the integrity and hospitality of the Firefly team.

“Good food at a reasonable price. Waitress staff was excellent. Hannah was our waitress and was totally.on the ball. The Hostess staff could use some training. They were telling people 30 minute wait when they’re were 3 tables available and customers walked out. Rather than helping clear some other tables and counter seating, they chose to stand at the hostess stand doing nothing. Everything else about this place was great and we’ll definitely go back.“
