“What was supposed to be a quick pit stop turned into a memorable part of our trip.

My boyfriend Steve and I were just passing through and stopped at Blanca Empanada in Charleston simply to use the bathroom—but the moment we walked in, we enjoyed more than just the bathroom 😂 . The warm, inviting aroma coming from the kitchen immediately pulled us in, and before we knew it, we were being welcomed by Johnathan, whose kindness made us feel like we had been regulars for years.

We decided to stay (the best decision we made all day) and ordered one of each taco, a lamb neck burrito, and the fresh tres leches. Every single bite was incredible—full of flavor, clearly made with care, and absolutely unforgettable. The lamb neck burrito was rich and tender, the tacos were vibrant and perfectly balanced, and the tres leches was the kind of dessert you think about long after it’s gone.

What started as a quick stop became a moment we’ll both hold onto. Places like this are rare—where the food is amazing, but the people make it even better. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re anywhere near Charleston.“

“Came here to visit and went to El Pincho Taco. I have to say this out loud (on Google) they have Amazing decorations, ambience, great service, and stunning food presentation. I ordered the paloma (pic attached) and not only was the drink exceptional but the cup that it came in had a character from the game Lotería that is popular in Mexico. The carne asada fries were soooo good and The tacos were out of this world. I loved every second that I was there and totally recommend this restaurant to anybody that is either a local or from out of town. 10/10“

“So, our first visit brings a mixed review. We were visiting in Mt Pleasant and decided Mex food was the plan. Santi's was close so we headed there. We were immediately seated outside where we wanted to be which was great. Drinks flower quickly as did the chips and dip and appetizer. Orders were placed, and then the wait began. I'd say the food itself was very very good. Tasty, good quality, and not your average fare. 5 stars on the food. That said, perhaps they were short handed but the server team outside was largely non-existent. Perhaps they came by once or twice and eventually we got some refills, but we waited so long to get our bill that we eventually got up and went to the back door patrons aren't supposed to use and waited for an employee to notice us. We eventually settled our bill and left. Atmosphere inside was eclectic, but looking run down. Service wasn't great. The quality of food would bring us to give it another chance should we be in town again sometime.“

“My Family first tried the North Charleston location a few months back, and as non meat or dairy consumers, we were pleasantly surprised at the variety that Azul Mexicano had to offer. As a lover of Mexican food that is authentic, I definitely recommend this place for food, service, and atmosphere. The next location was James island which was even better! Our server greeted us with a smile every time that she approached and made sure to check on us often. Although the music was quite loud inside(even in the restroom) we had the option of eating outside on a beautiful day. The bugs were pretty much non-existent, and the traffic noise was no issue as we sat and ate. The food was also perfect for two children ages 6 and under.“

I believe they’ve got a sewage or some other problem - every now and then, I’d get a wiff of mold/mildew/sewage that was off-putting. Couldn’t really identify it, but something is going on. Hope they can address whatever this is. Otherwise, meets expectations of a generic Mexican restaurant. “We wanted to have lunch so we went to Agaves Cantina. The local recommended it, and they greeted us at the door and got us settled at a table. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful.

Fernando was our server, and he brought out the menus. After talking with him, we decided on the Pollo A La Creme, Quesadilla Fajita, and Nachos Fajita.

The server bought out some chips and salsa, which was a great start to our lunch. Both the chips and salsa were delicious, and everyone in our group enjoyed them.

The server brought us out all our dishes, and they were all really well-made, delicious, and perfect lunch options. There was definitely enough food to go around for everyone in our group.
