“Sorbets + Cookies - Strawberry Lime Sorbet & Biscoff Almond Crunch were awesome and most popular. We came in November and it was very mellow, chill, no line and the young girl was nice & helpful.Dietary restrictions: Egg free, diary free, & gluten free options available.”
“If you looked up “great local seafood joint” in the dictionary, there’d be a color picture of Fish Camp. Not a lot of parking, but we did find space on a Tuesday for late lunch behind the post office in the beach lot. Plenty of golf cart parking right by the door, and space to dine inside or out. Mattie was an enthusiastic server, with both a great attitude knowledge of the menu. Sullivan’s Fish Camp is heading into its third season, she told us it was just Sullivan’s for 30 years before that. We had hoped for market price fresh fish, but had to pass on the Yellow Tile Fish because the Google told us there’s a warning out for Mercury content. Jeanette had the Fish and Chips, (beer battered local catch, coleslaw, pickled green tomato tartar, lemon- $24) and I had Swordfish al pastor Tacos, (fresh tortillas, salsa verde, charred pineapple, cabbage, and a wonderful street corn that wasn’t on the menu- $22). I paired the tacos with a couple of pints of Sullivan’s Crab Claw beer- an exclusive from Westbrook for Sullivan’s. 5% ABV and very approachable. If you’re out this way, it’s definitely worth a stop.”
“This is my GoTo place for the perfect frozen margarita and banging shrimp bowl or tacos. Mex 1, without a doubt, delivers deliciousness every time I go there…which is often, but who’s counting!Friendly, relaxed, with great vibe!”
“Came here for Sunday brunch with a couple of girl friends. No complaints! Awesome atmosphere and delicious food. Also, loved that they had a few great mocktail options for those of us who may have had too much fun on Saturday night. Our waitress was great and gave really honest recommendations of her favorite dishes and least favorite dishes (we loveeeee a helpful waitress!). Two of us got the grilled avocado bowl and it was light, yet filling and well balanced. Obviously the photo is enough proof that the waffle was worth a try too. Next time you’re on Sullivans, stop in here!”
“Lovely people, lovely food, lovely time. This place is full of local customers, the sure sign of excellence (and success). High quality food and wines and owner Emily is as gracious as an old friend at home. Highly recommended.”
“I am super picky about BBQ and I sampled our groups dishes and everything was really good! Our server Emily was very attentive and although it was crowded, the wait on a Friday night was well worth it. Some of the best, if not THE best, pork cracklins we have ever tasted.”
“A bit pricey as one would expect when dining anywhere close to a beach. With that being said, our panini's were excellent and the staff was really friendly and ”
“Absolutely love this place!!! Talked to the owner Bill and he told us the history and showed us photos, we drive from NMB from time to time to visit! Food was amazing! Atmosphere ”
“5 star atmosphere i gave 4 because no one could explain why they hid a 3% fee on everything purchased. Why not just show the price as the price... maybe because most burgers would be $20 then?Aside from that little bit above i loved the place the atmosphere and the services...Outdoor dinner, nice bar, handicap ramp, burger of the day, fish of the day, soup of the day. All excellent and exciting food creations. And an in-house bean burgers as good as impossible meats. I had an (Anabel Lee) that is served with a crab cake ball and sauce that can make you redefine what should be. Bravo chef!Wheelchair accessibility: The ramp is out back but adequate...The restrooms are outside in a pull behind tralor. I did not check for a handicap porta poty”
“Very busy in summer but tasty!Parking: Very small parking lot and may have to park on street or somewhere elseKid-friendliness: Kid friendly ice cream flavors and fun experience”
“Best brisket ever ? very friendly pit crew! We got there right when they opened and there was no line. By the time we left, the place was packed with a line out the door!”
“Always a great meal here. Probably the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had. The fish is light, crispy and not greasy.I always love to get their basic side salad because it’s just delicious. Simple, few ingredients and the vinaigrette is usually something seasonal and light. The cocktails are also handcrafted and the bartenders take great care in preparing the drinks.”
“Me and my husband recently stopped in at Doar brother's while exploring downtown Charleston. We sit at the bar, the atmosphere inside was very relaxing and almost romanatic with dim candle lights and soft music. The hostess, who was also the bartender, was very welcoming, informative, and very pleasant and fun to talk with. She was very good at her craft, a drink artist, all of our drinks were as beautiful as they were delicious. Out of all the bars we had drinks at in downtown, it was our favorite for vibe and drink quality, especially for the price point. We even came back at the end of the night to have another round of drinks before heading back to our room, this time we had a male bartender and he was equally as good at his job and pleasant as his female counterpart. We had a very pleasant experience and will definitely stop in again while in charleston!”
“Our bartender tonight was Carly and when I say she was the most top-notch bartender I've ever had, I mean it. Great hospitality and great conversation. Such a sweet and pleasant person and so knowledgeable. Even if I didn't like EO brews, I would want to come here just for the service and the vibes. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you, Carly! :)”
“Our favorite restaurant during our time in Charleston! I wish we would’ve done the chef courses menu to get more variety, but everything we ordered was perfect. So creative and a great use of seasonal and local produce. You can tell there’s so much thought and care put into each dish. Expect to spend about $80 a person, but it’s so worth it.Our waiter was incredible and made our night so much better! Definitely get the butterscotch pudding if they still have it on their menu! :)”
“Absolutely amazing meal here tonight! I enjoyed a half dozen of their varietal of oysters and half dozen of the char broiled oysters along with an amazing wedge salad. Hubby had the grilled black bass with red rice & beans and asparagus. Sooooo goood!!!!”
“Always consistent wonderful crafted food. Service can be a little off sometimes especially at lunch . waitress was nice and informed us about being slightly understaffed ”
“Best omakase in Charleston and probably South Carolina. On par with places I’ve been in Seattle and NYC. You won’t be disappointed. One of the better sake selections I’ve ever seen and Chris knows his stuff. If you like high quality omakase you need to snag a reservation here.”
“Exquisite and delicate food in this out-of-the-ordinary restaurant. The trout pâté is delicious, the gumbo is a meal in and of itself, developing multiple earthy and fishy flavors. The oysters are like velvet. We ate at thé bar and had a great conversation with the bartender. The maitre d' was delightful. The bar is impressivethe place stunning. It is worth every dollar. Merci!”
“Stop what you’re doing and go there NOW! Absolutely the freshest sushi and most captivating dining experience I’ve had in a long while. We sat at the bar and had the chef’s selections for the day. I left there speechless. It’s cozy, so if you are lucky enough to get in and have a seat, then you just are! Again, just go!”
“We arrived and got immediately seated without a reservation. We sat out on the patio area, which was wonderful with the weather. Our service was amazing everyone was so polite. The food was incredible. We ordered their she crab soup, it was very good you could taste the sherry for sure. The fried green tomatoes were batter and fried perfectly with pimento cheese and pickled veggies. We had the grouper special that night, it was served with their grits and asparagus. I have Never had better grouper anywhere, the seasoning and cook was absolutely perfect 10/10! The grits I swear by, you will not find better grits ANYWHERE in the south! We also had their light house, with shrimp, crab cake, scallops, collard greens, and grits; they were all wonderful especially the scallops. But highly recommend this place to eat, you will not be disappointed!”
“The bone marrow with tempura shrimp never disappoints. Honestly, everything on the menu is spectacular. Chubby Fish never disappoints and is well worth the wait.”
“Stellar menu, impeccable service, and absolutely fantastic preparations. This is the only restaurant I have ever been impressed enough with to make a reservation for the next night before I even finished my meal. Not cheap, but a definite get what you pay for experience. While a little loud on busy nights, it's still easy to recommend for the balance of the experience.”
“This Charleston staple has been around for a long time. They hardly need my review because clearly their reviews speak for themselves. However, I wanted to say that my dining experience at Fig was spectacular! The Bouillabaisse was amazing. And our server recommended the Ricotta Gnocchi + Lamb Bolognese for an appetizer. It was so flavorful. I do not have one negative thing to say about Fig. It was crowded but reservations go fast. We luckily booked close to a month in advance. Service was incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits Charleston.”
“Honestly, the best meal I've had in Charleston in a long time. Our group had vegans and non-vegans, and we all had plenty of delicious options to choose from. I'll be dreaming about some of these dishes for a long time!”
“Can't go wrong at Vivian's place. Wonderful food tastefully done.We also came back next morning for Handy and Hot - coffee and breakfast -worth it in the morning!”
“Where do I begin? The Darling Oyster Bar is an unforgettable restaurant. This has become my family’s new restaurant to host all special occasions & events! From our lovely hostess, Emma, who seated us and made us feel right at home, to our waiter, Jorge, not a single moment was left unattended or unforgotten.Jorge was super attentive & helped us navigate the menu with ease. He was our captain and seared us into calm seas, our chef special: White Flakey Fish over Creamy Southern Grits.Bless your heart — It was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth, & the chef came over and personally asked us about it. That’s what I appreciate! Southern hospitality from our first step into the Darling.Forest attended to our drink needs at the bar with complete ease, pleasure, and confidence. It’s nice to talk, learn more about the restaurant, and see how it shines throughout the evening. This place is well-maintained, known, and loved. Seriously, much praise to everyone who made this night special!Pros: our waiter (Jorge), the wide selection of dishes to pick from, and the experience of seeing the oysters up close! The cheesecake which was to die for!! I still have dreams about the cheesecake to this day!!Cons: none!Vegetarian options: Our waiter helped us select vegetarian & pescatarian options for the crowd! It was much appreciated”
“Best espresso martini in town! Stopped in here before dinner and the service was hands down the best we had all day! The owner of was working behind the bar and he clearly has a passion for cocktails and service! Glad we stopped in!”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our experience tonight at Port of Call Food & Brew! We started with the calamari, which was the strips, and it was delicious! I ordered the scallops, and they were good with corn and tomatoes and a rich sauce. My husband got the short rib on grits with fried onion strips, and it was so tender & flavorful! We were too full for dessert, but happy!”
“Everyone at OD makes us feel like family. We love the food, atmosphere, and amazing service. If everyone would please stop coming here, I could get a table faster. Thanks :)Vegetarian options: Ask for the special veggie pasta they can make off menu for you!Kid-friendliness: We bring our kids here and they love it”
