American Restaurants near Box Elder

“Woke up nothing to eat at the hotel (at least not good food anyway). Went to my favorite Google maps in search of a place to get some breakfast. This restaurant popped up since it was closest to the hotel. From outside looks ran down. It is attached to a restaurant and casino. Inside was decent, so I had to commit, plus I was straving at this point. It was super busy since it was the Easter holiday. Sat at the little bar and grab a menu. It is a sit yourself restaurant (FYI). Server Crystal was hustling but very nice. I was able to get my order in and waited no more than 8 minutes for food to arrive at the table. It was very delicious and enough food to where you did feel you were getting ripped off by price. Highly recommend if in area. Plus, it's a military discount on food. I now have lunch for the hotel and possibly dinner. I got the order of pancakes plus bacon and omelet monsoon. Total price 30 bucks including tip.“

“My family and I lived in Rapid City between 2001 and 2013, and during this time, we got to play at every golf course that the city has to offer, to include the ones outside of town. Prairie Ridge Golf Course will always be special for us because we've golfed here so many times with friends and co-workers.The one thing that was frustrating throughout my time playing here is I've always heard rumors from the base that they were going to add on a second 9-hole course, but obviously nothing was executed and it was just all lip service. If the course added another 9-hole course, then I would definitely fly back to try it out.I know it's been a while since my last visit and some of the folks who worked here may not be around anymore, but the staff were always phenomenal. I recall the cost to play here was very reasonable, to include the annual memberships for both green fees and USGA GHIN handicap service. Like I mentioned before, I'm not sure what service is available to the public these days since it's been a while for me golfing here, I just know the over experience is great. Thanks for all the memories.“

“Absolutely loved it. Great portion sizes, priced decent, old time diner feel. Only problems I had was the seating and wait time on the food. But it was worth the wait. I give them credit because it was packed and I could see why. Staff were friendly and made sure you feel welcome overall I would say it was ?“

“I got to the restaurant a little late in the evening so they were out of a few things -despite that everything was so amazing! I had the jerk chicken with rice and oxtail gravy with vegetables. I can't wait to eat more!! So delicious. Highly recommend!!“

“The place is nice. We ate there on a Saturday and did not have a reservation. Lucky enough, we were served a table right away. The place might have an almost white clientele, and when we are ushered in, the waiter asked where we are from. Well, we tried the bison steak, and in fairness, it was cooked good. It was tasty with no gamey taste. It was nice trying that resto.“

“My dad and I went to this place pretty much everyday for breakfast on our short trip to South Dakota. Each day, our food was delicious and prepared very quick. Every waitress we had was very personable and attentive, frequently returning to refill our drinks. I would definitely recommend for anyone passing through the area to try this great, family owned business.“

“This place is great! The Food the waitresses everything! We started out with Chili cheese fries!! They were soooo good! Then I ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue with potatoe rounders! Everything from the Wraps to the burgers were amazing. There were no complaints from our very large crew!!“

“Met family here , I wasn’t super Hungry , but needed to Eat , I ordered a plate of French fry’s .sure didn’t get hardly any Fries !! I was not too thrilled , I would have got more at a fast food restaurant !! I order Food all over as y’all know , Fries are the one thing you always get a plate full of , Guess Not here , !They were good , Glad I wasn’t really hungry !!My family got Breakfast and it was great ! “Let's just get this out of the way, this building is old and the bathrooms could use a VERY good cleaning and remodel. That being said, I will absolutely be bringing my family here in the future because the food was excellent. My son got braces for the first time and we were struggling with where to go to eat that would have soft food for him and I happened to see that Golden Corral was not far away from where we were. The food was fantastic. He had plenty of options to choose from and found the meatloaf to be his absolute favorite, not to mention the amazing dessert bar. I think this place is highly underrated and I wish there were more of them in the state. For being a buffet, the food to me was very high quality and tasted amazing. The price is very reasonable as well. I spent $24 for my son and I and that was because I did not realize a drink was not included and spent $3 for something other than water.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kid friendly options for adults to enjoy as well.“

“We stopped in during our trip to Rapid City area and so glad we did! Highly recommend. The service was great. And all of the food was delicious and loved all the different choices on the menu, it made it hard to decide what to get because of all of the tasty options. Lots of beer options on draft and adult milkshakes are tasty!“

“The best environment in town!! If you aren't spending at least one night a week here then you are missing out! It's a hidden gem! And at the restaurant inside, the black elk grille, they have the BIGGEST fried walleye you've ever seen plus some unique options like a German Flatbread with sauerkraut, bratwurst and horseradish that my partner just loved!! Come here for great company!“

“Great food and service. Also a good beer selection. The only negative comment I have is the salt level. The food has an excessive amount of salt. Also the baked potatoes seem to be “dry” maybe ask for extra butter. The shrimp appetizer is really good (also super salty). I have consistently had good wait staff here and the manager has always checked on us at some point.“

“Super limited dining choices in the area and decided to walk from another brand hotel.Great IPA beer on tap, many cocktail choices as well.I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and presentation of the food. The hummus plate was a great appetizer. The chicken sandwich was good, and the Cobb salad was impressive both visually and in taste. Our party was super impressed for this hotel dining option! Pricey, but the convenience can't be beat if you are in any of the hotels here!“

“Honestly so good for the price! Great service and food. A great variety on the menu and a good amount of Veggie options. I never feel overwhelmed by the bill which is nice, and it allows me to feel comfortable tipping the awesome servers more. ♡“
