The owners, Steve and Lisa are readily available, quick to respond, and very knowledgeable about the area. A major bonus of staying here is the attached coffee shop - Caboose Coffee. You will find a friendly face working in this family owned and run business, whether it’s Steve, Lisa, or one of their children. Delicious coffee, smoothies, teas, freshly baked good, etc. await you as you as you step inside! It’s set in a convenient location to downtown Hill City and area attractions. I definitely recommend staying at Mountain Peaks Inn.”

“I absolutely love these burritos, I've tried them all and they are so good! Big and meaty, totally worth a stop in for them. Our whole town seems to love them! You can also get them smothered in a pork green Chile so delicious, I highly recommend! And if you're not down with the tortilla they have burrito bowls too. Burritos Made fresh or grab one that's already made if you don't have the time. My kids even love them.”

“We had dinner on 8/15/23 during a stop for our cross-country road trip. It turned out to be one of the best places in the 20+ states we have visited. We ordered the full sampler combo as a meal, as well as a Double Jalapeno Cheeseburger. Food came out in a very reasonable time frame. Atmosphere was very comfortable and inviting. The combo plate was massive, with tons of excellent appetizers and plenty of dipping sauces. I am very picky about burgers, and this was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Everything was very fresh, especially the jalapenos. The burger had a lot of meat - stacked very high. Fries were excellent. But the biggest surprise was the condition of the bathroom. What a welcome surprise to see a restaurant that genuinely cares about the condition and maintenance of its bathrooms. Super clean and immaculate condition. Any food establishment that cares about its bathrooms clearly cares about its customers. Our servers were outstanding as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!”

“This place is so clean and awesome, the people are great to deal with and were very flexible. We were there with our camper and SxS. Drove from there through the Needles Highway, the beauty was amazing, the town was so easy to get around, even a carwash for the SxS. Plan to stay there again. Thanks to everyone who works there.”

“My first visit to Mt. Rushmore was truly breathtaking! The monument's grandeur and intricate details left me in awe. The architecture is a testament to human ingenuity and perseverance.

But what truly made my trip special was the exceptional experience I had in the restaurant at coffee shop. The barista looked confused with my drink order(I have few dietary restrictions) that’s where this Indian gentleman walks in, his service was outstanding – he not only crafted a custom coffee that catered to my dietary needs but also took the time to share insights about the memorial and other outlets and gift shops they have here.

I am so amazed by his knowledge on food and drinks he shared with us and his willingness to help extended beyond the coffee shop, as he even assisted me with my parking ticket. His warmth and hospitality made me feel welcome and valued.

The restaurant and coffee shop's excellent service elevated my entire experience, making my trip to Mt. Rushmore even more memorable.”
