“I came to support a group of students earlier this week to celebrate winning king and queen of the school. First of all let me say the staff was very rude to the administration staff. Even though reservations were made and confirmed and they knew in advance that the students were coming they refused to seat our party and denied the reservations ever being made even after being shown the email messages. The female manager asked for us to wait outside of the restaurant being that it was about 42 degrees that day until the limousine arrived to pick the students back up . The children were dressed in their Sunday best with white dresses and the young boys were in tuxedos and were looking forward to having their luncheon that was awarded to them for their hard work at school. I strongly believe that if the students were not all African American and staff as well they would have treated us differently. I will never ever support nor spend money with Majestic Grill again. I was hurt the way they treated these students who worked oh so hard and were looking forward to what was supposed to be a special day to remember.“

“My wife and I spent two nights in Memphis recently. we ate at Blues City Cafe two nights in a row. The first night we had the BBQ ribs, and they were the best I've ever had. The restaurant was so good we went back the second night and had the best ribeye steak I've ever had in my entire life. If you're in the Memphis area, make sure you go to Blues City Cafe. It is totally awesome.“

“We had the 7 course meal. The chef made an additional 6 course to make our dining experience to a 13 course meal. The staff, meeting the chef, the ambiance, and amazing meal is worth the price. I definitely recommend to select the 6:15 pm table time. See the Peabody duck show at 5 pm.“

“This was our first time there, and we ordered the Ali Baba Special Mixed Grill (for two) and Kibbeh. The food was absolutely delicious, and plentiful. Everything was grilled/cooked beautifully with a perfect amount of spice and flavor. The Kibbeh was beyond delicious! Our server was Hamza and he was very helpful and thoughtful, and we really appreciated his attentive - but not hovering - service! We will definitely be back (soon)!“

Our server’s name was Emily, and she was SO kind and super helpful as we had many questions about recommendations considering we are not from the area and were indecisive about food. Today, I’m sharing my experience at Char Restaurant, located on Highland Street in Memphis. This is a fine dining restaurant, and I chose it to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We made a reservation for two, and everything from the moment we arrived was smooth and welcoming.

We were seated promptly, and the atmosphere was elegant and relaxing, just as you’d expect from a fine dining establishment. The staff were courteous and professional. I don’t recall the name of our server, but he took excellent care of us throughout the evening.

🍽️ What We Ordered:
Fried Chicken (Main Course) – Served with vegetables and gravy, this dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was spot on.
Shrimp and Grits with French Fries – My friend ordered this and mentioned it was the best she’s ever had. The shrimp were well-cooked, and the grits were creamy and flavorful.
Blueberry Banana Pudding – This dessert was a delightful surprise. I had asked the server to bring it out as a birthday surprise, and he did so perfectly — bringing it out when she wasn’t looking, which made the moment even more special.
💬 Final Thoughts:
We had a wonderful time celebrating, and my friend truly enjoyed her special day. I really appreciate the hospitality and attention to detail shown by the Char team. The food, service, and ambiance all came together to create a memorable experience.

We’re definitely planning to return soon to explore more of the menu.

“This was my first time here, and it was so enjoyable that I knew I should leave a review asap. First of all I love the little private rooms and the interior of the restaurant. The service was amazing and they inquired about previous people my friends had brought along to check in on how they were making the place feel very welcoming and friendly. And lastly, and arguably most importantly, the food was absolutely amazing. Everything was very flavorful and I enjoyed the foods here more than I have when ordering similar items at other restaurants in the area. Needless to say, this place has been my favorite so far!! 😆“

“First time having them and the food was excellent and well seasoned. The chicken was fried to perfection and the dirty bird fries were loaded. The collard green were decent but I really loved their Mac and cheese on the loaded fries. Their ranch is really good and I like the kosher dill pickles that was served with my chicken wings (chicken was lowkey big but still tasty) it was worth it bcuz you get a lot of food for the price. I also had a frozen strawberry lemonade with a vodka shot in it and that drink was good too for only 9$ bucks. 10/10 Highly recommend ! I will be back again. The service was good too.
