“Wow wow wow! What a hidden gem! My fiancé & I had a perfect date night at Present Tense!! The food was amazing, the atmosphere is unmatched, and the service was fantastic.

We learned near the end of our dinner that one of the servers was sick, so the person who served us was actually the owner, Rick! He was phenomenal & extremely kind!

One of the best drinks I've ever had. Monday night there was only 6 or 7 people in the place near 10pm. Nice change of pace from Broadway and some of the busier places. This is a must visit. Vibe is like the perfect cocktail lounge.“

I'm currently adding an Absinthe program to a new concept I'm building and the gentlemen that took care of us (ashamed that I forgot his name) was a rockstar! He took the time to educate us on different techniques and the differences between Absinthes of different origins. We asked him to surprise us with chocolate and Absinthe pairings and he surely did not disappoint. If you are new to this world, have no fear. They have subject matter experts that can guide you through the experience. We'll be back next time we're in town!!“

This place has more "in house made" items than not ?! The amount of food & prices are awesome! **The "whipped bourin toast" is a must!** I had the shrimp & grits, which was spot on with the texture of the grits, the cook of the egg, the perfect shrimp & the creamy sauce. My wife, had the spicy chicken salad, & she cleaned her plate, which doesn't happen often! The carrot cake, is scrumptious, ty so much for that complimentary dessert, Taylor & common ground crew ????. COMMON GROUND is definitely a repeat for us!“

“Do not let the humble exterior of Martha My Dear fool you. I had a first class experience at this lounge that is off the beaten path in Nashville. Seeing a Cynar neon sign and vintage Amaro posters everywhere was an indication that this place knows their spirits. Bar service was fast and friendly...even on a Friday night. I had a few cocktails from the menu and one or two off the menu and was not disappointed. Their Negroni and Sidecar were top notch.

“We visited on a night when the AC had gone out, so it was a tad warm. But the server did a great job of working through that glitch. The cocktail menu was fun and creative. The dinner menu combines classics very simply prepared over live fire with out of the box shareables, such as the corn ribs, which are a MUST. Parking is rough, but it was all quite worth the visit.“

From initial contact by DJ Jane Dupree to handling of contracts and payments with venue owners, to bar and security staff. The patrons are lively and committed, as this truly is a one of a kind. This gem is a labor of love that is BY Artists, FOR Artists. Their time spent building, creating, and execution are all on point! Their level of professionalism is superior. The amount of flexibility, communication, hospitality and attention to detail were astounding. Their willingness to adapt to any issue thrown their way make them a dream to work with. As an attendee, whom has never been to Nashville, let alone their venue . . . they recommended food, entertainment, and even a barber. We were able to enjoy music we had never heard, had prompt service at their diversely stocked bar, and met new people that we will be speaking with in the future. The interactive nature of the venue, ensures there is plenty to explore while visiting. They craft themed events so each experience is different from the last. Blake the Bartender was very tentative and suggested drinks to try…. which I love! Blake wasn’t overbearing paid the perfect amount of attention. The food menu was a great choice of salads, shareable and sandwiches making it tough to choose. I ordered the black bean veggie burger with potatoe wedges and it was amazing! Spicy, juicy, and huge. Not sure if it was handmade but sure tasted like it! Wedges didn’t disappoint either. Watched some sports and retired to my room. Great place when staying at Townplace Marriott Midtown! I tried adding photos but wasn’t able—too bad!“

“Highly recommend! Great ambiance with an elevated eclectic atmosphere with a touch of femininity. Branson was our server and he did an incredible job - very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and overall kind and courteous. Our split steak came out a little under cooked for my husband (perfect for me though so we weren’t going to say anything!) but Branson immediately noticed and went out of his way to ensure everything was perfect. The brussel sprouts and tuna tartare were fantastic. We will be back soon - thank you!

The service was fantastic, I can't recall the gents name, but he was a tall drink of water, he was very professional and friendly. The atmosphere to me was more romantic, but I was with a large group, so we sat in a room towards the rear. All in all, I highly recommend this establishment. You won't be disappointed!“

This was our first time visiting, they had a “Christmas Eve” menu which looked delicious but we came with our hearts set on the steak; no questions asked the kitchen was happy to adjust, we received the best steak we have tasted yet! The former residence has multiple rooms, on two levels, and our one regret is that we sat in a room with about ten tables, and the hard-scape decor meant that the noise level was just below the decibel level of bars on Broadway Stu’s neon district.“

“This is one of the best places I have been. My partner and I tried this on our spring break and fell in love with the food and the vibe and the people. The lunch set tasting menu included 4 wonderful dishes. Each better than the last. Our favorite was the beef tartar. The General Tso’s plate was also spectacular! Truly one of the best dishes I’ve had. Wonderful place! Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

“Traveled to Nashville from Missouri. Stayed at the Courtyard Downtown Nashville. We could not decided where to eat due to many choices. We decided to stay in the hotel and go to the first floor and just eat here at the hotel. We were treated as if we were royalty. The food is world class food. Nothing can compare. The atmosphere was that of a dream. Great music. They play the best music live making it an experience not to forget. If you need to feel like a famous person from Nashville, you have to go to Gannon’s in Nashville. Cole and Matt were very professional and we can not wait to go back!“

“We celebrated our son's Vandy graduation here. It was perfect. We walked right in with no wait for our reservation. The waitress was top notch and never rushed us. After we ordered We walked around and took in the wonderful views, to include the bar area which had fabulous views of Nashville. The fry tray, instead of bread was a great change up. One of our party had a dairy allergy and received a special fry tray. Our steaks were all done wonderfully. We also ordered the Brussel sprouts- best side ever, and the fried rice and broccoli were also good. We skipped dessert, but received some carmel chocolate popcorn which was also fabulous. I don't leave many reviews, but I had to write about this wonderful experience.“
