Ice Cream Shops in Athens

“Been wanting to stop here as we pass through on the interstate several times a year and finally did. It's about an 11 minute drive off the exit. This is a good-sized production facility with a gift shop/visitor center & ice cream parlor as a small part of it. Signs pointed toward the visitor center, but directly across from it where you would assume the parking was, were 'employee parking only' signs. Visitor parking was way off to the side of the building, making it very confusing where visitors were actually supposed to enter. I almost gave up, but eventually we figured it out. Gift shop had a lot of really cute stuff. I loved their t-shirts but unfortunately they mostly had only L & XL in most of the styles. The employees there were really nice, and the ice cream selection was great and tasted super fresh and creamy (no freezer burn/ice crystals). Nice outdoor dining area with fence and space for kids to frolic. A nice little break from our travels, but it would be nice if they made better directions for where visitors are supposed to go.“

“Stopped in today around 6:30 and had the best hamburger. Everyone in my car was going on about how great the food was, hot and fresh. The young man who brought the food was so nice he had an awesome smile. Visit was a 10 out of 10. Thanks for a great visit!!“
